Bronies In The Wild: Brony Spotting Experiences

EP1C N3RD

Nope, no one as yet. My 14 year old sister just might be one, but I haven't caught her watching any of the episodes yet. She knows more about my love of the show than anyone else though. I told my parents and they don't seem to be very interested for whatever reason, but I'd love to show them a small segment of the show to see if they like it. I'm toying with Rarity's whining in A Dog And Pony Show, and the song 'At The Gala' when the time comes.

Well I didn't really meet them, but it was definitely an awesome experience! Our family was stuck in traffic in Toronto. I looked through my window to hopefully pass some time. Little did I know that on the car beside me, there were two guys. Hanging on the rear view mirror was a Twilight Sparkle plushie! It screamed "BRONY!!" I wanted to give a brohoof to them so badly, but I knew my family would frown on me if I did!

A bunch of my best friends are bronies, but I've never met one randomly as a complete stranger. That would be cool. But my friends and I love to talk about the show and they refer to themselves as bronies, so... Yeah!

I've met many, coming from the furry fandom there were a bunch offurries I knew that were Bronies. Hell I co-hosted a MLP panel at a Canadian  furry convention called "Condition: Red" with Sophie Cabra and Raspberry Roo...who at the time had a full body suit of Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack. It was pretty fun. we were there to help promote a new website  "Brony.org" In all, I've met probably 30+ in my times from starting in the brony fandom....95% are furries. Quite a few are friends as well...and when we get together we always watch the episodes or sing the songs or talk ponies.

Well, my best friend and I got into ponies around the same time.  The two girls that sat behind me in band were bronies.  I was at Horrorhound and saw a girl wearing a Rainbow Dash book bag.  I was Hot Topic, wearing my Derpy hoodie and some gril asked me where I got it.  I helped her find one.

At the present time....no, I haven't any bronies in my travels. I currently live in a small rural town that really don't support the population figures that other places have.

I still can't wait to find a fellow brony though. Hopefully with this move I'm currently undergoing, I'll be able to meetup with others soon.

I actually have to put that I now have met a brony IRL, however I did not speak to him, I simply saw him in a brony shirt that had alot of different ponies aswell as the wonderbolts flying above on a shirt, but I could not speak to him since I didn't get a chance to.

it was pretty cool to see one IRL for once though haha, nobody did any mocking of him where I was.

So yeah I finally did meet a brony IRL, even if I didn't talk to one yet tongue.png.

On Sunday I went and saw EG, and it had the largest group of Bronies IRL I've ever seen (haven't been to a con yet).  I'd say there were maybe 50 people in the theater, and over half of them were bronies.  The rest were the "target audience" of 20- and 30-something year old parents with their pre-teen daughters.

A random brony sat next to me for the movie, and we talked a bit about BronyCon (he's going to be working tickets/entry at the event).  Sadly, I didn't get his name.  Overall the crowd was pretty energetic and friendly, but I can definitely see why we have something of a reputation for being socially awkward and just...a little "off" (and not in a flattering or complimentary way).

I want to embrace the whole love and tolerate thing, but even in that crowd, I found myself a bit apprehensive about being as weirdly forthcoming (desperate?) and bubbly (young?) as what I saw there.  I'm trying...I really am.  Maybe at Bronycon there will be a large enough crowd for me to mingle about, and gravitate towards other people as cagey (cynical?) and reserved (old?) as I am.  We'll see.

Let's see, three of my friends love the show while the other thinks it's okay and still watches it with me. One of my friends thinks it's cute that I like unicorns; she was referring to my Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie shirt. .-. Another girl said my Rainbow Dash shirt was cute.

I have met two in public before. I met one at Toys R Us; he reminded me that Derpy is best pony.

Then I met one at Gamestop; she and I talked about the toys, mostly.

I converted one of my friends into a Brony if that counts.

I also have met several through various store visits and met a couple at theme parks as well as my work.

I always get stuck in long conversations with them, though i dont mind. We usually tell each other who our favorite pony is and what merch we have

Either there is a severe lack of bronies in New Jersey, or they are really good at hiding it. (Im probably just oblivious to it) Ive only seen one in public haha. Shout out to you guy in Ridgewood with the pinkie pie shirt! I would have said hi, but I was too busy with my Country Pancake House dinner. My friend also might be, Ive seen he liked some pony page on facebook, but idk how much that counts :\

Plenty, 5 of those are close friends of mine, we've been friends for 6-7 years now (Wow... Never thought of that). I think about 2 years ago one of my friends was talking about it (Saying that he was one and all) and I didn't know what it was because I wasn't really paying attention but like 1 month later (After I forgot he mentioned it) I "Became" a brony (I didn't watch the show I just looked at the memes) about a week after that I watched the show. I told my friends that I was watching MLP and was a brony and like I said 5 out of my 7 Best Bro's said "... You're a little slow, we've been watching it for 1 month now..." "...Yea Nick..." and so on... So yeah. I've met plenty in real life. I think about 20 in my HS that I know (Acquaintances) and they are very open about it (Just like me [i like parentheses]).

I met one in real life about a few months ago in college. I was doing my work while wearing a Rainbow Dash beanie when he complimented my beanie. After that, we chatted for a while. We talked about games, movies, the next gen consoles, and whatnot. It was honestly quite surprising to me. I had thought I was the only brony there.

Met 2 while at Disneyland. They both had discord shirts and when I complimented them, one guy yelled "BROHOOF!" which I was more than happy to obliged. Then I shouted "DISCORD RULES"

to which they answers (as the ride was pulling them away) "CELESTIA DROOLS!"

Much merriment was had.

Actually yes, not too long ago through a non Brony friend. Sat down with him and my non brony friend at a diner talking about favorite ponies and such. Turns out he just watches the show and not much into the fandom like me.

Met another today, I was at Value Village with a friend...and I had found some G4 Pony merch, so I had to buy it. I go to the cashier, turns out she was a Brony/Pegasister, she asked if they were for me or for someone else, I said me,she then noticed the Wonderbolts Academy shirt I was wearing, and she gave me a Brohoof.. It was awesome.

Yep, I've met plenty. In fact me and a at least three other guys are gonna go see Equestria Girls on Saturday. Two of them are my friends and one I've met twice before. One other guy might show up. My one friend (one of the friends going to EQG) knows a couple bronies that go to our school that I've met before. I also have one friend that is an ex-brony.

My friend from college who got me into the show is a brony and we hang out a fair amount even though we live in separate towns. Also this Aug when I go to BronyCon I will be meeting tons of bronies!

Yes.

Some other student in my Computer and Society class this past spring had a Princess Luna folding bag (the kind that could hold a standard-sized laptop). He knows the show.

Glad I'm not the only one in my class who knows the show.
