I believe the villains in Regular Show have the capabilities to destroy Finn and Jake; Destroyer of Worlds, Susan, Jebadiah Townhouse, Hammer, Jan the Wallpaper Man, Klordbane, The Geese, Ybgir, etc.

It's been a long time since I watched Adventure Time though... a very long time. Didn't like it as much.

Regular Show is funnier, but Adventure Time has a better story. Considering Adventure Time has, most times, has a developing story, unlike Regular Show's episodes are usually random, with occasional references from past episodes. ^^

I've only ever seen about one episode of each. I do intend to watch both a little more thoroughly at some point. For now, Regular Show. Mostly because I hate the artstyle in Adventure Time. Not that Regular Show's is all that different but it's just slightly different enough to make me not hate it immediately.

The episodes of each I've seen:

Adventure Time:

-The one where they had to fight the Lich.

-Some other one where they had to fight a giant cyclops for it's tears that had curative properties or something.

Regular Show:

-One where Mordecai (I think that's his name) tries to jump through time to stop the awkwardness at his first kiss but keeps screwing it up and going back in time multiple times. It was hilarious.

-Trucker dad's true identity. That's about all I remember of that one.

Personally, I enjoy Adventure Time more. When you're introduced to Lemongrab, there's no turning back...

The only reason I know this is from Ponies Anthology. Oh the things those videos has introduced me to...

Both are really awesome in their own way, honestly. More so, I feel both found a pretty unique setup.

Regular show... It's really charming. It's humor is refreshing, completely awesome, and the show blends a lot of absurdity with real life but in a very smooth way.

Adventure time... It's amusing, unique, and at first glance a bunch of random but fun ideas thrown together. But, when you pay closer attention, there's this HUGE backstory that isn't really given a lot of active attention. Throughout the series you get to see hints at the downfall of Earth, and how it became Ooo. Though only one or two episodes actually address what happened (that I recall), I adore all the little details that provide continuity with the mushroom (cloud) war, the ancient radioactive monsters, the ruins of humankind, the blending of future and primitive technology (lost and remade), the ghost of one of Finn's past lives showing up now and then in non-story related places (?)... It just has all these background gems that add a good deal of depth to the show.

That's kinda the feeling I got from Adventure Time. That there was far more than meets the eye. It's not just a goofy, crappily drawn show. There are moments of extreme epicness and from the sounds of it, far more if you pay attention.

Agreed.  :) There's really too many little gems to list here, but even seeing the first season or three, I believe I've come across quite a few interesting details. I first started to think about it more deeply when seeing an underground ruined human city when Finn and Jake went diving to conquer his fear for the water.

It is rarely the focus, but the implied history is often just... there.

Something I'll have to keep an eye out for when I actually start watching it for real. Last time I tried to watch it I got about ten minutes in before turning it off. Really wasn't in the mood. Some zombie episode.

I think the show takes a certain mood/mindset, yeah, haha.  :) Don't get me wrong though, some episodes don't really have much hidden depth to point out. Often it's just meant to be entertaining, as are most shows nowadays.

Well, if you watch if for real, I hope you enjoy it.  :muffins:

((Also I'm pretty sure I know the episode you speak of~))

The artstyle really turns me off is part of the problem. I'm kind of a stickler for artstyles and noodle arms is a fast-track way to make me hate you. :P

As someone who pretends to art, I think I can sympathize with art styles being a big selling/tripping point.  I personally find it kinda charming, though limited and silly sometimes frequently (many big bads don't really look that intimidating or fearsome when they look kinda fat or wide/weirdly shaped instead).

I think regular show has the same choice in limbs with some characters to an extent, but they stick harder to implying an elbow joint and such, and overall have less silly proportions?

That's how it seemed to me. Similar artstyle but not trying to be nearly as wild and crazy.

I definitely need to give both shows way more of a chance before I really say anything other than that though. Very limited experience.

I can respect that. I'm glad you're not hating on either one for silly reasons, haha.  ;) Still, I'm not holding you to putting the art style bit aside. I personally would probably have issues watching Cow and Chicken or Ren and Stimpy.

I like both shows, but if my merchandise is anything to go by... I'm gonna have to say Adventure Time.

Both shows are funny and entertaining, but Adventure time also has really good world building, great history, and awesome stories (particularly in season 4 and 5).

The show and characters have a surprising amount of depth, and I love how they're slowly developed throughout the show.

Also, Marceline.

Both, I love both shows!

Regular Show is relatable, and hilarious. I mean sure, nothing about the show is regular, but the characters just feel so real, in my opinion.

However I'm not sure quite why this website qualifies the show as Surreal Horror...

And Adventure Time, is one of the most heavy cartoons I have ever seen. The whole show, it seems like some wacky pointless cartoon, parents would be completely confused about, at first glance. But once you get deeper into the show, the whole story starts to make sense.

And oh boy, THE FEELS.

They're both good, but I think Adventure Time is the superior show. It has a great cast of characters, and a ton of backstory. The Ice King's Past, Lemon Hope saving his people, Princess Cookie, ect.

Regular show is good, but Adventure Time is amazing.
