Bronies as a religion and my spiritual experiences

Interesting. I really couldn't care less what your religion is. As long as your aren't blowing yourself up, or honor killing your children in the name of god then believe in whatever you want to.

So if you want to worship Sun Butt, I say go for it!

Yeah, I think that Celestia exists, if not in this realm, in another realm. I believe that faeries, gnomes, brownies, pixies, etc exist, so why not Celestia. And Lauren DID say something about the show being inspired by a childhood memory :)

Edit: This is supposed to be a reply to Vaddix's post, but for some reason it's not letting me quote =/

Whoa, really? Crazy how both of our posts mention the same thing. Do you have a link to that article by chance?

Hmm... this is quite, uh, interesting.

Well, if Whovianism is a religion (Seriously! It's here - Boop), then I guess Bronyism can be a religion.

I guess I'm triple-religion. Christianity, Whovianism, and Bronyism.

That's quite a combo. Should we have little TARDIS temples we keep?  ^_^

Actually, the Doctor did once become a faith in his own show if only for a brief moment. When it looked like the Master had one, what restored the Doctor to strength? Prayer.  -_-

TARDIS temples would be cool! XD I wonder if there will be a Twilight's Treehouse Temple...

That's true! Faith is necessary :comeatus:

People can do as they wish, but it would help if they learned to stand up on their own.

I like MLP, I really do, but I greatly doubt that I'll end up in Ponyville or Canterlot when the worms are devouring my deceased carcass.

Sig made by Kyoshi.

Cool things people have said about me:

Never heard of him but I guess just you mentioning him is a good reason not to go anywhere near that name.

(In reference to an author I suggested.)

I forgot the thing about Lauren being inspired by a childhood experience. But I'll try to find it.

Jeez dude, that's grim . . . everyone knows cremation is the way to go!  :P

I would point out that Rodenberry was an atheist and could get quite ham-fisted with trying to convey that point. Picard wasn't reacting to fear of religion itself, but out of committing what is arguably the greatest sin of pride. He didn't want to fake and claim divinity simply to accomplish the short term goal. Why? Because Picard is a man of honor, and believes he doesn't have to bend the rules to make a mission successful. The Prime Directive says you can't interfere with a species' development, there's a difference between conquering superstitions and simply getting rid of the concept of religion.

Oh and also. I Forgot to put this to all those who think i need help. Matter cannot be created or destroyed. Unobtanium is matter. And is in fiction. Which is created. Therefore. Fiction is matter and therefore because of the conservation of mass rule. IT EXISTED BEFORE IT WAS EVEN MADE!!! So therefore all your arguements are invalid. And because it does exist already. THE FICTIONAL UNIVERSE DOES EXIST!!! The reason why i am shouting is because i have key points.

I agree with you entirely, but "shouting" your key points goes a long way to undermining them. The softer you speak, the closer people listen to hear you.

Sorry about that. But i still think that if the conservation of mass rule applies to fiction. Then it is real. How do you get to a fictional universe anyway? I Mean please tell me they can make a device that can make fiction real. Or at least a computer simulation like the Matrix. So i can spend time in Equestria. Programming voices into the characters.

There is only one God and that's the Lord God the heavenly king with the trinity but lets just say that if bronies do form their own religion I'm leaving the fandom also think of it this way if you never knew who Celestia was then what would you think of this?

I don't quite understand what you mean.

What would I think of the christian god if I didn't know Celestia, you mean? Or you leaving the fandom?

1. I'd think what I've always thought of the christian god. bullocks.

2. It's your choice to leave the fandom for whatever. I don't care. :/

Dude, that's a little extreme don't you think? I mean, there are plenty of Muslim, Hindu, atheist, etc. Bronies but you don't see me threatening to defect just because I'm Catholic do you?

Okay, on his side, that's a little disrespectful. Just out and out calling someone, including my own, beliefs nonsense. You don't see how that might be taken as a little mean spirited?

And every brony lost to the fandom is a sad thing, and we should do our best to support each other.

He asked what I would think and I gave him an honest answer. What was stated was my opinion on the religion itself, it was not an attack, and i was not calling him or you stupid for believing in it, just the religion itself, which is an idea that cannot be offended.

A man can think that a mlp based religion is stupid all he wants, I wont get.offended or think he is disrespectful until he starts saying the believers are stupid for their faith.

Neither you or the other guy is stupid for being christian but I reassert my personal opinion that the religion is bollocks.

Instead of saying im being disrespectful, you should ask yourself why you are personaly irked by my opinion and instead of implying that im being disrespectful, just simply ask me why.

Though that discussion should take place on a different thread.

I will make the concession, however, that although I did not mean disrespect in my comments, I may have been insensitive, and that to a question like that, I owe the poster a more concise explanation than the one I gave in brevity.

But as for the other topic I heartily disagree.

It is a sad day when you find a bum trying to sell you his wife's ring.

It is a sad day when the doctor tells you your newborn son was still-born.

It is a sad day when you wake up tied and gagged in someones basement.

These are sad (horrible) things.

Don't get me mistaken, I love the fandom, and Ill support anyone who needs the support, but Im not gonna get bent out.of shape if someone leaves the fandom that I don't even know.

How is that even a bad thing? Its there prerogative if they want to put mlp down, what am I suppose to do, tell em not too?

Whats the worst thing that will happen? They become a trekkie?

Putting away mlp as an obsession might even be good for em, who knows? The idea that its sad for someone to leave the fandom is absurd to the nth degree.

To that poster I will apologize about my flippant attitude. I was at work, noticed the comment, and made my message brief and honest, if not a little brutally so.

@@PokeBolter,

Sorry if I came off rough. I was in one of those bitchy moods.

I think you're confusing what matter is. Matter refers to tangible things, like water or air or something. Somethings fictional doesn't exist in a tangible sense, because it exists in the mind, and I don't know if the law of the conservation of mass (I think that's what its called) sticks to things that are fictional.  So, I don't think you can use that argument to prove the existence of Celestia as a deity or whatever.

I'm sorry that I made that comment and well if I could go back in time I'd stop it I just kind of thought this was turning off of God and I stand up for my faith when stuff like that happens.

Being a Christian, I think it's rather strange, but who am I to judge?

A lot of people think as someone mentioned before that God is "bollocks". It's not like there aren't any other religions out there already saying that!

All aside, in terms of spiritual connections, I've heard of representing certain archetypes before, so it's not like this is a new idea or anything. Though I still think it is a little farfetched!
