Hello and welcome everyone! For those of you who don't know, I'm a fluent speaker of Japanese. I just have one problem - I can speak Japanese, I can read hiragana, and I can read katakana, but I've always had trouble with kanji. Now, until recently that wasn't a big issue, but then I decided I wanted to start writing in Japanese. But to do that and actually have myself understood, I'm going to have to know kanji (I'll get into the reason in another post if you want to know why).

It's been a while since I last wrote a review. Well, seeing yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the original releases of Pokémon Red/Green in Japan on February 27, 1996, I thought it'd be a great time to review these games.

For a while, season two was my favorite season, followed by 1, 3, and 4 depending on my mood. (Four's a better season than three, but I found it less fun and enticing to watch beyond a couple of episodes: Pinkie Pride and Testing Testing.) Season five changed that:

Slice of Life is a wonderful, seriously underrated, hilarious thank-you letter to the fanbase and an excellent 100th episode in its own right.
