  1. I said "maybe, depending on which company runs the cruise." I'll be honest: I've always wanted to go on a Disney cruise. Not just for the nostalgia, as I am a child who was raised on Disney, but I have also heard nothing but good things about the service. The people on the ship are so kind and helpful and they'll go out of their way to make your cruise a nice one. A friend of mine did their Disney Wonder for a family vacation and she couldn't stop raving about the food, the crew, everything! I've also heard a lot of good things about Norwegian Cruise Lines, as well. I'll totally do a cruise, if I can get the funds. But those pesky student loans hang over my head right now.
  2. It's hard to know what's going to come out of this. For all we know, she can turn back into a unicorn next season, but I think Hasbro wants to do the princess line for at least one whole season.
  3. I'm an older member (24), so I'll take a tackle at this. 1. I do know how to use a rotary phone! My parents had one in our house when I was younger and I would use it to call my grandparents, but after my dad died, the phone was replaced. Soooo the last time I ever used one was about 6 years old. 2. Yes! We didn't get our first computer with internet until 1999, when I was 10 and just started middle school. My childhood up until then was spent playing with my friends and watching TV. I'm glad I got the best of both worlds when I was younger. I spent a good chunk of my childhood doing what a kid should do and internet didn't come around until I was older. 3. The first crisis I had knowledge of was the fighting going on over in Kosovo and Bosnia. I didn't understand too much, but it's what got me into politics and foreign affairs when I got older. 4. I think my grandparents had a TV like that, but my aunts and uncles got them a new big screen TV back in the 90s, so it wasn't one that I remember too much. 5. Being someone who remembers seeing Saddam Hussein's suicide on the news, where I was on 9/11, hearing about Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinski and following Hurricane Katrina so closely on The Weather Channel, it's a very surreal feeling knowing that I lived through all these major world events. It's subliminal. 6. Nope. We all have cell phones now. I got my first cell phone when I was in 8th grade. Now everyone in my family has a smart phone that they can't put down. 7. Absolutely! My mom bought a huge package of them several years ago, but now they're obsolete and unusable. So we got creative with them: we use them as coasters for guests to use when they come over. 8. Just today, actually. We were looking up numbers for plumbers. I didn't think to look online to find a nearby plumber. xD 9. That cartoon was Sailor Moon. Been a fan since I was 6 and 18 years later, I'm still a major fan of the show! I don't know what about the show made me love it so much, but I was up early one morning and turned on the TV in my room and I found Sailor Moon on USA network. It was the episode 'Dangerous Dollies' where Usagi's younger brother falls in love with a possessed doll. I immediately fell in love. I would pretend I was Sailor Jupiter when I would play with my friends. It was, and is, such a great show and I'm eager to see what the reboot coming out this summer will be like! 10. Yeah, the 80s cartoons do look very dated, but I like a lot of them. I remember Captain Planet and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the original My Little Pony. I would sit and watch those shows all the time. Just because it might not have the best graphics doesn't mean it's not a quality TV show.
  4. Best wooden coaster has to be El Toro at Six Flags Great Adventure! My boyfriend worked there this past summer and he got us in for free on his day off. But I heard nothing but awesome things about El Toro and it didn't disappoint! You get MASSIVE airtime in the back of the train and it goes so freaking fast that you don't know what's going on! It's one of those coasters you need to ride in your lifetime. Unfortunately, beyond some decent coasters (Nitro, Bizarro and Skull Mountain), there's not much in the park. It's very bare and basic and lacks good flat rides, so it's not worth going to frequently if you don't have a way to get in for free. Expedition Everest is an awesome coaster! So well thought out and creative. I got to ride it a month after it opened and it's one of Disney's best rides in Florida.
  5. I'm fairly sure she's going to be permanent alicorn. In the EW.com article, McCarthy says that Twilight will be going through new challenges being a princess and with her new wings. That's all fine and good, but this show won't be the same if the Mane 6 aren't involved as much anymore. I mean, if she's away in Canterlot, the other Mane 6 won't always get to see her. And things won't be the same. It's something you shouldn't break: the Mane 6 make the whole show, not just Twilight Sparkle. I'm concerned that this is the route they're going for: the Twilight Sparkle show with the Mane 6 as background characters. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm nervous this might happen.
  6. Yeah, I'm always late to parties. But best to be fashionably late. I've been reading everything on the site and of course you have those people who claim this is where the show jumps the shark, but so far, it's not too crazy. People are like, "whatever."
  7. I'm not against her becoming an alicorn at all! I know she'll still be the same Twilight through and through, but I don't know what will happen to the rest of the show. But what really does bother me is they're most likely doing it to play into the "princess" bullcrap that girls are fed today. It's nothing but marketing and making more money. The article on EW.com bothered me because McCarthy said that "every little girl wants to be a princess..." It's alienating to those girls who don't want to be princesses and it can alienate little boys, too. We're not as forward as a country as we could be, where a lot of us still hold gender normative feelings and thoughts. I have a lot of conflicted feelings, but I have to remember that they're in it to make money, bottom line. But we'll see what happens.
  8. There's a major spoiler here about Season 3 Finale.... Don't read if you don't want to be spoiled. But I'm willing to bet there will be a huge uproar over this.
  9. I have a lot of connection with Pearl Harbor Day. It's a very important day because my grandfather enlisted in the Army the day after Pearl Harbor and he served our country during WWII. He said the attack inspired him to be a part of something bigger than himself. Also December 7th is my birthday.
  10. Exactly! If Twilight does become an alicorn, it's possible the creative staff and the writers will keep her as a unicorn as much as possible, but maybe her wing power comes out when it's needed. Or she could gain wings with a magic spell she learns. Let's just wait and see what happens with Twilight. I for one wouldn't object to her becoming an alicorn.
  11. Am I the only pony that's watching the BCS National Championship right now? I'm a Notre Dame fan and it's breaking my heart right now. They're getting creamed by Alabama. But it was a fluke they were #1. Everett Golson needs more time and more maturity to handle a goliath like Bama. *sigh*
  12. Kiss Applebloom under the mistletoe. Uhhh.....maybe when she's an older pony.
  13. My most unpopular opinion is that I like Pepsi more than Coke. I can't tell you how much flack I've gotten just for that from my friends.
  14. Joining in on this! My GameLoft ID is Silverwing12 Scootaloo is in the way of getting Rarity to come back, so any help and any adds would be fantastic! I add back and I send treasure chests to my friends every day. You have to download the Gameloft Live! app from the app store. Took me forever to figure out, but it works! BTW, I added you as a friend.
  15. My iPod Classic that I got for Christmas in 2006 still works pretty well. It doesn't hold a charge too long and it can get glitchy, but it still plays music and video. Usually iPods only last at most two years, but mine's lasted over 6 years. It's a miracle, considering I've dropped it on cement and on the floor countless times.
  16. Rarity is the one that most deviates from her element, but that's not to say she's not generous at all (I would blame that on lack of time to focus on her character/poor continuity). She has a very complex personality where she can go between selfishness and selflessness. Heck, in "Suited For Success," she stayed up day and night to make the Gala outfits exactly like how her friends wanted them to be. And in most cases, if you ask a favor of her, she'll do it with little hesitation. She's fussy and uppity, and yes, even a bit self-centered, but when it comes down to it, her heart is in the right place. She will give and give and give to anybody that asks for it.
  17. I wish I had my childhood back. Most people my age are getting set to get married and start families and careers, but sometimes I wish I could go back to the time that life was without worries. Being an adult has its advantages, but being a kid was awesome for me. The feeling doesn't come around often, so this adulting thing is manageable haha.
  18. I talk to myself. Sometimes I get the feeling that someone is always there with me, so that's why I talk. Yeah, it's really weird, but I try to keep it in private so most of the world doesn't know. Heck, even my own boyfriend doesn't know!
  19. I got a good one! Rick Astley will let you borrow any movie from his Pixar collection, except for one movie: He's never gonna give you UP!
  20. Hi! Welcome to the forum! I'm also new here today, too! The beginning of the year must be a popular time to join, huh? I was bullied when I was in school, but things got SO much better when I got into college. Bullying stinks big time, but plenty of people have gone through it, so you're not alone. Many of us understand how you feel. If you ever want someone to talk to, my inbox is open for everyone!
  21. I'm more introverted than extroverted. I enjoy my alone time and it gives me lots of energy that I need for my job. Too much alone time can make me question my friendships and my self-worth, so I try to make plans with good friends to avoid feeling that way. But most of the time I prefer to stay at home and read books or watch Netflix. Socializing is a lot of work for introverts and extroverts have it easy. The world is made for them, while us introverts have to live in their world and try and adapt to it. And if we don't, we suffer professionally and socially. It's a shame, but I would rather be my quiet self than try and be exorbitant and outgoing. I'm actually reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts by Susan Cain right now and it's a great book! Would definitely recommend it.
  22. I played clarinet since 4th grade, but I dropped it when I graduated from high school. Sometimes I miss playing. Might pick it up again soon and see if I still got the skills
  23. Hi everypony! My name is Heart Of Silver and I'm so excited to be a part of this community! So a little about me: I'm a pegasister and I got into MLP:FiM through a friend of mine. As I was unemployed at the time, I decided to dive right into the show and use my time wisely . Several months later, I'm now deep in my passion for the show! My favorite ponies are Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Sweetie Belle. I'm also a little bit shy and flaky, so it might take a little bit to be very comfortable in this environment. I do have trouble expressing myself online as a likable person, but trust me, I am very nice and kind and sweet. I hope to make some friends and have some laughs here. Happy New Year!
