  1. I didn't mind Mysterious Mare-Do-Well. It's not one of my favorites, but I don't have this undying hatred for it that a lot of bronies seem to have.
  2. Fluttershy reminds me of Gohan. Both are kind, timid, and helped to turn over a villain to a good guy (Piccolo, Discord). They also share the "if you piss me off, you're gonna regret it" thing.
  3. I don't care for Pink Floyd. I love DBZ (At this point, liking DBZ for reasons other than nostalgia is not as common as you think.) Adventure Time, while decent, is seriously overrated. Naruto was better before the invasion of the Chunin examns, because I personally think that it began to take itself way too seriously after that. While I'm not a fan, I seriously don't get all the hate for PewdiePie. Judging people based on what they fap to is stupid. Slayer's first two albums are better than Reign in Blood.
  4. I'll watch Littlest Pet Shop from time to time, but I wouldn't really consider myself a fan of it. Nothing else comes to mind at the moment.
  5. Dragon Ball GT is the definition of jumping the shark. Good thing it doesn't exist. What? I'm in denial? No I'm not. You're in denial. Shut up.
  6. Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z/Dragon Ball Z Kai, Spongebob (seasons 1-3 only), Ed Edd 'n' Eddy, and.......that's about it. I don't watch much TV shows.
  7. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Not only are they adorable together, but I also feel as though they help complete each other in a way, given how opposite of each other they are.

    mega thread Anime Discussion Thread

Just the Dragon Ball series. Yeah, I know. I'm such a horrible human being for liking a popular, mainstream anime and no other anime shows.
  9. Nope. Dragon Ball Z will always be my favorite show. Nothing will ever take its place. The brony fandom is my favorite fandom, though.
  10. Majora's Mask is my all time favorite video game ever, so that wins by default. I do think Twilight Princess gets a little too much hate, though. I thought it was an incredible game.
  11. Fluttershy. We're both shy, timid, sensitive, and we both share a fondness for animals. That's probably why she's my favorite. I can relate to her the most.
  12. Gohan and Fluttershy would make the perfect couple. Just think about it. They're both timid, polite, animal-loving characters who will quickly turn into your wosrt nightmare if you piss them off. Goshy is best ship. Don't worry guys, I'm kidding. Besides, Flutterdash is best ship.
  13. Shipping? I'm okay with it. I'm REALLY okay with Flutterdash. It is best ship after all. I really only like the lesbian shippings, though, because I don't care enough about the male characters in the show to ship them. I'm also not in it for the "hawt sexy clop time". I like shipping more when it's just adorable, sweet love. I'm a guy, by the way. Feels kinda awkward talking about pony romance because it makes me seem all girlish. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but.............you know.
  14. That awkward moment when your substitute teacher sees you on a website dedicated to My Little Pony....

It's okay to like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. Just don't acknowledge that in school because there are far more haters than followers.

  15. For some reason, a lot of anime fans seem to have a strong dislike towards anything Shounen, especially if it's long and popular. DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece all get similar treatment among the more "hardcore" anime fans in that they all tend to get ignored and shunned by said hardcore anime fans. I like Adult Gohan, too. I just hate how Toriyama changed his mind during the Buu saga by making Goku the hero instead of Gohan. To me, DBZ was mainly about Gohan's rise as a warrior and him taking his father's place, and the last half of the Buu saga just made all of that seem pointless.
  16. I like some of the filler. The episode where Goku and Piccolo try to get their driver's license will always be a favorite of mine. I just can't stand filler like Fake Namek. Ugh, that one was practically painful to watch.
  17. Looking through this thread, I still see people complaining about Dragon Ball Z's pacing. Just curious, you guys do know about Dragon Ball Z Kai, right? How it vastly improved the show's pacing by removing most of the filler and drawn-out scenes, right?
  18. - I've never seen any Star Wars or Star Trek movies, and quite frankly, I have no desire to change that. - I don't like most of the fandoms I'm involved in. Bronies being an exception. - I will not go out of my way to get a girlfriend or get laid. I can live my life without either. - I don't care enough to watch Doctor Who, Breaking Bad, or The Walking Dead. - Rarity is the funniest character in the show.
  19. That was something that was a bit more common back in the 2000-2003 era of Toonami. Nowadays, you bring up DBZ in an anime discussion, you're basically gonna get flamed for even mentioning it.
  20. Yeah, I can't stand it when people still complain about the show's pacing. Now that we have Kai and the manga, there's no good excuse for people to automatically dismiss the series just because of its pacing.
  21. Most of those rumors about where DBZ was originally meant to end are false, though. Dragon Ball was originally meant to end after Goku first collected all of the Dragon Balls. However, fans wanted more, so he continued. From that point on, there wasn't a single point in the story where Toriyama thought "Okay, I'm done", except of course for the end of the Buu saga. He never said that he wanted to end DBZ at the Frieza or Cell sagas. The whole point of DBZ at first was to slowly transfer the role of the hero of Earth to Gohan, and continue the story from there. He changed his mind in the Buu saga, though, because he felt that Gohan wasn't suited to be the hero. As for the whole Super Saiyan thing, I didn't mind it in the Cell saga when other people achieved it, because they still either had to work for it or experience some extreme emotional anger or sadness to achieve it. It got slightly out of hand in the Buu saga when Goten and Trunks achieved it so easily, but a popular theory is that they got it quickly because they inherited the Super Saiyan gene, since their fathers could achieve it by the time they had........impregnated their wives.
  22. This picture just about sums it up. No matter how hated Dragon Ball Z becomes, it will still live on as an unforgotten classic by many.
  23. Totally agree with you. A lot of stuff aout Dragon Ball Z tends to fly over a lot of people's heads, probably because of the show's pacing. But it's more than just guys screaming and powering up, just like you said.
  24. Really, it's just something you have to get used to. Anime fans tend to look down on anime primarily aimed at kids, and a lot of people are turned off by DBZ's abysmal pacing (even though they could just watch Kai or read the manga, but whatever). Dragon Ball Z is a classic, but a hated classic. If that makes sense.
  25. The reason for the endless padding was because the anime was being made along side the manga. In order to not get ahead of the manga, they added filler and a bunch of drawn out scenes. Kai does a wonderful job getting rid of said filler and drawn out scenes.
