I liked the scenario, but what exactly is at stake here? besides twilight i mean. To me you are pretty much asking to die, wich of course i will answer no. Even if she deserve it better, im not going to give my life for that. And yes, there's a third option, in fact there's plenty of options, but the 3rd one would be: Fake it out, be yourself and not tell anyone, becouse fuck it, who needs to know? Yes, of course its an evil choice, but then again who gives a shit? Also, in a world where magic can pretty much do anything i don't think i would just give up on finding another 3rd option for bringing back twilight, or find me a body, or whatever really, anything but dying is good to me.

I don't know, it feels like you're trying to make a Final Fantasy caracter more than a pony one. If you want my advice i would just pick 2 perks, 3 tops (Like magic user and smart, those are good together) and rethink your flaws, smart and stuborn are a good match, but overly protective is totally out of place.

No. For what i read so far its trying to bend beyond its way to be and not to be Noah's ark. "Well, you see, its a story about a godlike-thingy causing a flood and applebloom building an ark to save some animals, BUT its not Noah's ark, really, its not. REALLY!" But most importantly: Why? Why an ark? Why applebloom? Why now? Why is this god doing this and where does it come from? Why a flood? Why is it unstoppable? And how building an ark would help anyway? If its a magical storm from a merciless god then why would he stop? He could keep raining blows down equestria until there was nothing left, there's nothing stopping him and now that i think about it there's nothing triggering his/her wrath neither. If you said it could be stopped then why is applebloom the center of the story? wouldn't make more sense if the ponies involve in calming down this god where the center of the story and applebloom being a side-story? As a story, Noah's ark worked becouse god had a clear goal, purge the land of evil (or whatever) and that's what stopped him from NOT ending the flood, if the god thingy has no goal beyond destroing equestria, then what's stopping him? The answer is nothing, becouse he is a god. If you do the "Purge the land of evil" then it would have less sense becouse if anything equestria IS the utopian society, not to mention if you do that it would become full plagiarism. Also, Noah was asked to build an ark by the same god that was trying purge the land, he didn't just "knew" when the storm was comming, he was told. The thing is that a gargantuos Ark would take months, if not a couple of years of work and for what i can tell the storm came out of nowhere and goes on a steady pace AND its unstoppable, even if it takes a week it would be too late. Just to be clear, im an atheist but from a story standpoint Noah's Ark worked perfectely becouse everything fitted with everything, you can't do this particular story again becouse: 1- The setting doesn't allow it. 2- If you bend the setting to fit the story then you WILL be called on plagiarism, with good reasons mind you.

I think the problem i see in your first villian is that you really don't know that much on science fiction, hell, turning men into women it's almost a reality, its not quite there yet, but if there's a will, there's a way. The best advise i can give you on the issue is that you should read "Shadowrun" or "Cyberpunk" Manuals, there's a lot of material on science fiction there, specialy in terms of gadgets and technology. ESPECIALLY RENRAKU ARCOLOGY: SHUTDOWN! OR MAYBE CTHULUH-PUNK! Also, where the fuck did she get all that money to buy all of that men-into-women tech? And i mean if this is cutting edge technology in that universe it better have a good explanation on where did she get that money to make all of that. And im not talking about millions, im talking about billions of dolars/credits/rupies/whatever-your-currency-is . Wasn't that a villian on "Heroes"? some guy eat other people with power and he gets their powers and blah blah... i don't know, it sounds not fully tought in my opinion. As for the second, i really don't care for her, it seems like some spoiled brat with powers, it could never be a treath beyond something along the ways of "She stole my boyfriend" kind of thing, and even its not she's still rich, why would she do something EVIL when she's rich AND can control people? doesn't make sense really.

I have an idea that i really want to see developed but i don't have the time or interest to do it. Its just a "What if?" but its very a interesting one to see in motion, What if magic just STOPS working? and i mean, AT ALL, no pony gets new cutie marks, the sun and the moon stops moving, discord can do shit, changelings are dying of starvation and so on, all magic related activities just STOPS and no one knows why this happened, in fact there's absolutely no reason why it stopped working, the day that it stopped was no diferent than the others, it just happened. I really want to see that happening, since that world is so magic centered they won't know what to do without it, hell, discord will loose his shit just by this. Hooves" says the girls in unison "please girls call me lightning like the rest of the class, mr. Hooves is to formal this is gym" says mr.hooves with a smile the girls smile "ok mr. Hooves oh I mean lightning" said apple bloom with a small laugh. 1- Well, probably no, but if have problems with your "Art" maybe you should first come up with a style of your own, it doesn't have to be 100% show-like, in fact many ask-blogs are difined by their art style, the more diferent while being apealing, the better. Maybe you would want to leave some samples to see what are you made of. 2- what do you mean with that? like, put a background photo from the show and make your drawing without making something of your own? if so, then no, you shouldn't, making backgounds will improve you as an artist anyway, the more you practice the better you'll become. 3- It would definetely make a good contrast, but Daria would feel off, Daria was a product of the 90's society, she was like that becouse of everyone else, if have to guess she wouldn't be so cynical in ponyville becouse there's really nothing to complain about, most of the caracters (if not all) are not mean or evil (hell, they're not even incompetent), they're naive or agresive at best, so i don't see her being cynical at pinkie pie becouse she is genuine about who she is, she's not dumb or incompetent neither, maybe a little hyperactive but that's it. You could make a cynical caracter ON equestria, but it couldn't be Daria.

I like the guide but i don't think it has to be so mathematical about making an OC, sometimes its fun to make a villian, specialy if you make him/her a silly Dr. Evil caracter, or hell, make it full evil if the RP allows it. There's a lot of thing you can do with an OC, and you CAN make an alicorn, its hard to play, in fact i don't think you could make it fit in any RP really, but its posible. I think most people (Like me) hate alicorns for 3 things: 1- They're out of place in the RP 2-They're bad developed 3-They're overpowered But the more i think about it the more i think it could work out if done right. Like, alicorns will always be important, so you can't make him an "average joe alicorn", but you can put him/her in a possision of power, it doesn't have to be a prince/prinsses, it could be a General for example, the power and responsibility are there. So our alicorn its a general, great, what now? now you mix it with society, when he walks around town everypony bows to it, and every thing it says its words from the heavens, kinda borring, uh? well yes and no. You see, its an alicorn, so everything he/she ask for its an order, he or she will bypass every closed door and will open them for others, if another caracter wants something, lets say a place in a private school for her doughter, its done before you noticed. This if perfect for NPCs in my opinion and can be aplied in a lot of RPs, although you can't really "Play" one of these. Also, they're OP, there's no way around it, but that only means they will be handling bigger threats, if the main caracters are facing a group of 5 changelings, the Alicorns its probably leading an army thowards a changeling army, those are the kind of threats alicorns face, if you give him/her 5 monsters to battle of course it will win, that's why the enemy will put traps for the alicorn, they want to take him/her down first. But again, its hard to do and pretty mucha a botter since you could do an Unicorn just fine. Another good thing about them its that they're good cannon fodder. As for caracter background its really hard to make, lets take the general from before: lets say that he was an earth pony that showed great bravery in the battlefield, he was tasked with missions of great importance but he got to a point where he doesnt know why is it fighting for, and in his final challange, where all hope its lost, he regains its trust in himself and charges on and wins the most dificult battle until now, he sees the bodies of his lost friends and the ones he manage to save, so he understand why he most never give up and blah blah blah, and lets just say magic happens and he becomes the ultimate bastion for honor or something, i don't know, i grew really tired of writing a few lines before. But you get the point, the alicorn MUST be above all ponies, its a requirement for being one, its hard to come up with something like that, but that's the only way. So its not that its bad to make an alicorn, its just really hard to make and also pretty much imposible to play.

I woundn't worry so much about the name being repeated, except if your name is Dusk or Dawn or Something-Star, in that case you should get a new name becouse there's like a million of those. You could stay with any of those names in my opinion, or you could go the other way around, calling him something like "Focus" as a joke, maybe you could have a nickname that everyone knows to the point they don't remember your real name (Becouse maybe your name is kinda hard to pronounce or maybe you don't like your name, who knows?) there's a lot of things you can do with that, but if you are dead set on going on a normal name maybe you should look for synonyms of "distracted". But i think what he/she meant was that alicorns are meant to be rare, royalty and (To some extend) more powerfull that the average Unicorn, also their talents are related to greater things that the usual pony. Plus, and this is the hard part to do, Alicorns seems like they're "Made" not born, so it's natural for them to be in some respects "Better" by definition. Maybe you could do an ill alicorn, or maybe an old one to make it less powerfull i guess, but they'll always be above averange in magic power and always be royalty, unless the RP context says no that is. What im trying to say is that there's nothing casual about being an alicorn and therefore its not posible to make a casual alicorn. But you don't have to please me, you can do whatever you want.

Yeah, that sucks, and somehow unicorns can teleport and pegasus go beyond the sound barrier anyway :| , how much sense does that make? That... that's just sad :'| Eh, its definetely better in an advance one, but it could be aplied to a normal one if you put a few more minutes into the caracter fitting in the RP (Although its harder for earth ponies to fit in anything really) , And besides, the diference between the races is that unicorns can move things from afar and pegasus can fly, that's it, its not really that diferent anyway. If you are a detective then what's the big diference if you are an Earth pony or an Unicorn? Like, you have detective spells? (I don't even know what that is...) okay, sure, be a CSI caracter, the Earth ponies will be Humphrey Bogart. That's what i mean with this, when you think of Earth ponies, they should think of Humans, what Humans can do and if you still think that Eath ponies are nothing special, why don't you can ask anyone how "Harmless" or "Useless" Humans can be?

This right here, i've never seen so much true in one sentence. Everyone wants to be the Batman and wangst all the way. Emo at its fullest, wanted to take revenge on the world that he was cast out and, for some reason, now he/she wants to save it. And sometimes its even the total oposite, they want to be the joker, lauging at death in the face, not becouse they're brave, but becouse they're dumb/flat out crazy. Also the shy guy. God i hate the shy guys/girls, there's ussualy nothing in their personalities beside their shyness and the people using this kind of caracters ussually (And am not naming no one specific) waste their 1 moment of awesome by wangsting right after their overcome their shyness, and then they go on with their usual shyness, they really never change... And its not always a bad thing, but holy crap i saw this every 3 or 4 OC's. Nobody wants to be the average joe, wich is a shame, understandable, but a shame. Everyone wants to be the very best at what they do. Also: That right there is a shame, everybody sees them as the usseless, I SAY BULLSHIT TO THAT! If anything they can be the second most usefull of all (Still behind the unicorns, but not that much) The pagasus have sexy wings, so their talents usually involve flying (Fluttershy being the exception) , they concentrate in speed and weather stuff and... that's about it. Sure, they're cool, but not soo much, they can make an hurricane... But only with other 100 pegasus helping if not they can make a good breeze, of course the only exception would be RD and the Sonic Rainboom, but even then its not THAT usefull, can you tell me what practical use that has? sure, its pretty, but thats about it. And if you take their wings out they're useless, the end. Unicorns are usualy OP since they have magic, they will always have that special overflow of power (Or something) that saves them from danger... they basicaly Jedi. I hate this race, they're so overrated it hurts. First the magic they have should always be linked with their talents, you can't cast "Fire spell level 3" or some shit if your talent doesnt involve it, if you're a musician, your power will involve things that have to do with music, like enchanting instruments to play at will or something, they all have Telequinesis, that a given, but not all of them can Teleport or cast Levitate, they just can't (That is if is not linked with their talent) . I mean it, you just can't pick up a book of magic and start making spells at will, just like you just can't pick a up a book on quantum mechanics and be a scientist. And again, if you take out the horn they're useless, they usually don't know how to live without magic just like a pegasus don't know how live without wings. And then there's Earth ponies, the underdog of the bunch. Or is it? Think about it. Did you saw those flying boats in the show? Or the hot air balloon? who do you think make those? Obviusly not the pagasy, why would they need that? The unicorns? They have magic, if anything they would have find a magic related solution, like they always do. And then there's the Earth ponies. Ideas comes from necessity i say, and in a world with wings and magic, the earth ones have to create their own strength. These are the inventors, the creators and the scientists, the cunning minds and hooves of that world, these guys are what humans would be like in equestria. The kind of guys that would create giant robots in the future, do you see an unicorn or a pegasus building something like that? Sure, its implied that the earth ponies have some kind of special conection with the earth and that's why they can make food grow, okay, sure, whatever, but they're not limited just to make food, hell, their conection with nature only proves my point, these guys observe the environment, they study it, they're already scientist at heart. That's what i hate when they say the earth ponies are useless, when they think of earth ponies they think of Bigmac, a kindhearted brute (No offence) and a farmer. When you think of earth ponies you should think of ninjas that can make obnoxious shit that can make you blind, think of Batman (Not the background) that can make flawless plans all the time, think of a mad scientist that can make giant robots or awesome gadgets, you can even create a MacGyver caracter that can make a bomb out of peper clips, duck tape and bubble gum. Think of that when you do an Earth pony caracter, they can be awesome. Or you could just make a Brute that punches his way out of everything, there's nothing wrong in that. Also they can be very versatile since they don't depend in anything really, if you take the horn or wings of a unicorn/pegasus, usually they don't know what to do, specialy if their talents are related with magic/flying, and their usually do, what exactly can you take from an Earth pony? Well i think i rant enough about the issue, goodbye.

So... Unicorn + Earth pony = Pegasus? Sure, okay, why not? Okay, for the daughter i say... Clear Sky? becouse that's the only way to get to see stars, i don't know. As for the wife, how about Hustle? it kinda fits but maybe you should wait for more people to answer. Also, the head on the little one is disproporcianal to her body, maybe you want to fix that.

I don't know how to make something "look" evil, for me you're considered evil for your actions or for what you say. If i had any kind of advise i would say don't make him look angry or something like that, don't make him like he (Or she) has a permanent frown on their heads, make them menacing, he (Or she, whatever) has the control, he has nothing to fear becouse there's nothing you can do to stop him, he must have a confident look, not an evil smile but something that tells you that you don't want to mess with him. And that's only if you go for a caracter, if you want a monster then that's another story. In my opinion the best advise is from @@Legatus Equus, Good luck.

Okay, thats fine, i had in mind a carismatic dictador and you a frankenstein monster. Okay... let's say the brother has some kind of incapacity, like he's missing an arm (leg? i don't know how that translate to ponies) or his blind, there, now you have motivation for him being jealous and why would the father make those experiments on him, he wants to help him (or is he?) . As for the rest, im sorry but you can't put those ideas and still expect to be similar to the show, you just can't, it could be a good fanfic but the "Experiment on his son" is kinda off the limits. Also, you can't have political or maybe even financial power through technology, at least not in equestria, technology there is far too undeveloped for being important in that society, their world is one of magic.

Hey, that is not a bad idea, in fact, forget the gary stu shit, make him a full cyborg, he won't be an alicorn but he can have the "Looks" of one. Like, give him wings and a horn, the horn might do nothing but is the illusion that counts, if he "Looks" like an alicorn, then maybe some other ponies will follow him, get my idea? who won't wanne be an alicorn? maybe the earth ponies feel less becouse of the pagasy wings and the unicorns magic and then this guy comes and offers them both for free, its really tempting, you know? As for why he would do that, maybe is for even up the score with the rest of the races, if he can become an alicorn through science, then anyone that follows him can, give him some kind of motto like "Magic is obsolete". Or it could be a standar villian if you want, maybe he just want to control the population. Its up to you, tell me if any of that helps.

Well... to be honest i don't think that would work since she is the element of magic, why would she need technology if she has magic? And that's the main problem with the idea of technology in equestria, why would they NEED robots to do things for them when they have magic and shit? Technology comes from need, so it's okay if they make a car becouse they need something to move things from place to place without much hastle, robots on the other hand... for what i can see there's no sign of electicity neither, how are they powered up? and if you say a magic stone then the whole point of technology goes down the drainer becouse it becomes magic. I mean, i saw SOME pieces of technology (A videogame machine in the hearts and hooves day and the hairblow machine from the just for sidekicks episode) but it's not very clear how they work (Since none of that stuff is conected to anything at all) In my opinion, it would only work if its an Earth pony the one that makes all that, becouse they're the ones in need for that, pegasy maybe, but definetely not unicorn. About the setting of this, maybe an underground city? or a large city inside a mountain? i don't know, it has to be hidden.
