  1. Cr1tikal (penguinz0) Game Grumps Retsupurae I also watch an assortment of Paradox LP'ers, but I can't say any of them are a "favorite." I like Josh's reviews, but he is a terrible let's player.
  2. I think you know you're horse famous when people argue about cars on your departure thread. Also, update: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3YEpqcdviQ
  3. Same ones as the last Manehattan episode. Roger Sterling, Peggy Olson, and Joan Harris while the play was on, and then when it's over Don Draper shows up.
  4. Can we get fandom names for the Mad Men cameo ponies? They were the best thing about the new episode.
  5. I counted four Mad Men cameos in the new episode. Anyone got more?

  6. This is quite good, if you ignore the glaring historical inaccuracy. https://youtu.be/uR-nTYDA6vk

  7. Off the top of my head: Wind of Change - Scorpions Take Good Care of my Baby - Bobby Vee Beyond the Sea - Bobby Darin I'll Be Seeing You - Billie Holiday Baby Blue - Badfinger (Damn you, Breaking Bad) Under the Bridge - RHCP Have You Ever Seen the Rain - Creedence Clearwater Revival When the Roses Bloom Again - Benny Goodman + Peggy Lee

Hahaha! Took me about 20 seconds to get that one but that is hilarious.

  8. The new episode may have been predictable, but it was one hell of a ride getting there. Love it.

I actually haven't found the time to watch it yet - surprising given I'm usually the type of person to watch the episodes as soon as they come.

  9. The new South Park episode was a much better takedown of SJWs than the one in the last season. But why? Because Tom Brady.

  10. I swear, The Onion and real life become more indistinguishable with each passing day.

  11. Fallout 3. Admittedly, I had no idea what the game would be like going in, except that the PS3 version was supposedly buggy to the point of unplayability. I hated it at first, but after spending several hours playing, I got completely hooked and couldn't put it down. I now own every Fallout game, and consider it one of my favorite series in gaming.
  12. On today's episode of Infrequent Ramblings About the Occasional Ponysode With No Consistent Schedule to Speak Of... Source: S05:E14 - Canterlot Boutique
  13. The word of the day is "Communication." There is alot of that in this episode. The first five minutes of Canterlot Boutique are an extremely bloated, ham-fisted exposition dump. Every aspect of the episode's backstory, from where Rarity got the money to the exact plan of business, is explained in painful detail. The story, in fact, doesn't actually begin until about a third of the way in when Rarity starts making the princess dresses. From there, at least, the episode does avert one annoying cliche that the series has historically fallen victim to. When Rarity and Slippery Sassafrass have a disagreement, Rarity doesn't let it stew until the end, she confronts her. The two actually have an argument about the boutique's direction in the beginning of the story, instead of saving it for the climax. I found this to be very refreshing, since it makes the conflict feel natural and earnest. If the two conflicting parties air their dirty laundry early on, then there's no awkward phase where they pretend like everything's just peachy. Now, let's talk about the song. It would have been fine, but it just dragged on and on and on until I couldn't stand it anymore. We get it, Rarity, you're an "artiste" with "couture," and Suffrin' Suckatash is cramping your vibe. You don't need to sing two whole reprises of the same song just to get that point across. Instead, this episode should have cut down to just one song (and trimmed the exposition as well) to better pace out the story it does have. Remember what was wrong with Magical Mystery Cure? Exactly this. Shite pacing packed together tighter than a can of sardines just to accommodate a bunch of extra songs. Savory Salamander herself was a total ham. I appreciate enthusiasm, but she didn't need to orgasm on every line just to show she was excited. Dial it back a bit; it's not good for your blood pressure. As for the ending, I recall the Simpsons episode where Lisa's cat (Snowball II) dies.Lisa gets Two more pets, naming them Snowballs III and IV respectively. Finally, on the episode's closing, she happens across a cat that looks exactly like Snowball II, christens it Snowball V, but decides to call it "Snowball II" anyway for convenience's sake. To quote Seymour Skinner: "That's really a cheat." And it was a cheat for Rarity to keep the boutique open and under the direction of Sushi Salavini while she went back to her "roots" in Ponyville. You're cheating by trying to tweak the status quo without actually changing it. You're cheating by making what should be a major story development little more than a technicality. You. Are. Cheating. So, putting together all I did and did not like about this episode, all I really have to say in the end is: "Stop cheating."
  14. Are there any games that you really wish you could play, but you are unfortunately terrible at? Either because the game is too difficult, or just because it's a style that you have no idea how to play; these are the games that you've droolingly watched a thousand LPs of, but wouldn't dare pick up yourself. For me, this would be grand strategy games, especially the Paradox titles. I love the idea of conquering the world one historically-accurate nation at a time, but unfortunately I've always sucked at strategy games in general; and every GS game I've tried has just been too complicated, too obtuse, and too unfriendly to new players for me to have any fun with it.

  16. It's 2015, and Verizon is still barely faster than fucking dial-up.

  17. There's still 20 songs after this one.
  18. We've all been there. We are the silent majority, and it's time to share our stories. Bananaphone
  19. I don't think I've ever been offended by a joke. Quite the contrary, I'm usually the one telling the most offensive jokes. Simply put: If you can't grow a thicker skin, then your outrage is funnier than the joke itself.
