View this post above: http://mlpforums.com/topic/95098-need-djs-for-radio/#entry2540948 I didn't have any prior experience, and The Evening Breeze was pretty noobish when it first started. It's a lot better now, and my equipment has improved as well. You gain experience by experiencing, not by wishing you could do something. Give it a try!

Friendship is for Adults!
websterhamster replied to EyesofEstranged's topic in Miscellaneous Fan Art
Oh yes, before I forget, here's a bit of feedback that you might find beneficial: The audio levels from the vocals in this were a bit uneven and Spike in particular was too quiet. That could use some improvement for your next episode. -
Here are a few links to affordable (under $80) microphones that don't require you to spend extra on an interface. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-Snowball-iCE-USB-Microphone-17280332-/360864337728?pt=US_Pro_Audio_Microphones&hash=item540530cf40 http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Audio-Technica-ATR2100-USB-Cardioid-Dynamic-USB-XLR-Professional-Microphone-/310933333691?pt=US_Pro_Audio_Microphones&hash=item48651226bb The ATR2100USB is great for beginners because of it's built-in USB interface, but it also has XLR output so you can use it with a separate interface later if you want. I upgraded from the ATR2100USB to the MXL 990 with a Behringer XENYX 302USB interface after the USB plug died on the ATR (too much plugging in then unplugging). Because of the XLR output, I still use that mic for gaming and stuff.

I had exactly ZERO experience with any of this, but I've been doing my show on Bronydom for several months now with only minor technical glitches occasionally (side-effect of sharing my internet with the rest of my family). And as an add-on to GeekBrony's request, show hosts would be good too! If you like to talk/podcast, and have a decent microphone, you can do your own show. Perhaps you have some friends and would like to do a radio drama? That's great too!

Friendship is for Adults!
websterhamster replied to EyesofEstranged's topic in Miscellaneous Fan Art
Watch out, this definitely falls into the Friendship is Witchcraft category. You might eventually get a CAD letter... But it's funny! -
If you're taking requests, how about a challenge? (sorry I couldn't help myself) Would you be willing to design a logo for my Internet radio show (link in my signature)? I tried a contest but never got any entries. Shamelessly trying to get a logo...

I personally don't care what is socially acceptable or not, because I don't buy into that whole thing. I think it would be nice to do away with "socially acceptable" altogether! I wish people would change, however, and that more people would be friendly, more people would have empathy for their fellow men, and more people would think about others before thinking about themselves. Is it socially unacceptable to be friendly?

technology Ubuntu 13 and Realtek LAN adapter hell, please help
websterhamster replied to TheMarkz0ne's topic in Media Discussion
I just remembered that I've had a similar problem with my laptop running Lubuntu 13.10 (the LXDE flavor of Ubuntu). There are some networks that I just cannot connect to, no matter how hard I try. I think it was around 13.04 that this first started, so perhaps it'll be better in 14.04. Oh and BTW ALSA is an audio driver, not a network device driver. -
technology Ubuntu 13 and Realtek LAN adapter hell, please help
websterhamster replied to TheMarkz0ne's topic in Media Discussion
Go to the menu, then System Tools, then click "System Profiler and Benchmark". This interface is pretty much like the Device Manager in Microsoft Windows, it's got the system information in a tree on the left, and when you select an item, it brings up the data in the pane on the right. -
technology Ubuntu 13 and Realtek LAN adapter hell, please help
websterhamster replied to TheMarkz0ne's topic in Media Discussion
Can you give me a list of your system specs and hardware components? That would help. One thing you have to understand is with Ubuntu 13.10 the folks at Canonical basically released a half-baked distro. It was shipped without many of the things necessary to running a basic PC, unlike the many version before it. There are still a pile of bugs and problems with 13.10, so I'm hoping that 14.04 will be better. It's coming out this month! -
movies/tv Why are people obsessed with Frozen?
websterhamster replied to BreakingJesse's topic in Media Discussion
I'm very obviously at the end of the conversation here, but I must ask... This question from a Brony? LOL!!! XD I think it's a mistake to call Frozen a movie, because it's more of a musical... in fact, when Disney finishes the theatrical production of Frozen, that'll probably be a bazillion times better than the animated film. It's all about the music (I mean, does adult Elsa get more than 10 non-singing lines?). I think Disney needs to make more of these spectacular animated musicals! -
I haven't received any entries yet, so I thought I'd post this here as well. The Evening Breeze, my weekly show on Bronydom Network, is in need of a logo, which is why I'm hosting a logo contest! The prizes will be an iTunes gift card and an exclusive interview with me, to be aired on a future broadcast. The rules are simple, the logo should be themed appropriately for a Brony music radio show and must have The Evening Breeze and with websterhamster featured on it somewhere, somehow. Use your creativity! Entries should be sent to AvondSuth@gmail.com no later than midnight, April 12th, in any format you wish to send them in (although it would be nice if it's either a vector or bitmap, proprietary formats don't agree with me). I will accept drafts, and you can send as many entries as you want. Happy Drawing! PS: If you have any questions, ask away!

Being an identical twin with a brother who is my same age, looks and sounds almost exactly like me, and annoys the draaf out of me, I would enjoy having a sister to hang out with. Any of the Mane Six would do, I think. Perhaps a relevant question is, How old would they be? If they were the same age as me, they'd probably be going to college. And since I'm leaving for two years in the relatively near future (I hope) then I wouldn't see them very much and they (or she) would get to know my brother the best and they'd become best friends and he would maker her hate me and then she would turn into Pinkamena and murder me and make pastries out of my bones and..... Sorry, went a little crazy there. If this pony was adopted I would probably fall in love with her and marry her. Actually I probably already have. Ok when my face gets red while writing a forum post that means I should probably shut up. Shutting up now.

My family name, Porter (or Staaliik) means doorkeeper, gatekeeper or one who carries things. It's a very old name, originating in medieval Europe. At the time of its earliest known usage as a family name, 1086, a porter would have been someone with prestige, a higher-level servant at a manor or castle. He would have been the man with the keys, most likely.

request Who wants to help me make an MLP: FiM DOOM .WAD?
websterhamster replied to Moost's topic in Requestria
Just an FYI for the moment I'm using Chocolate Doom, the Linux version. It still uses WADs, but it doesn't include the original DOOM WAD, which is still owned by ID Software. -
How do bronies compare to other fandoms?
websterhamster replied to Bendy's topic in Sugarcube Corner
The fanbase I hate the most is (and I know I'm going to receive hate for this) the "Whovians". Why, you ask? Because they try to insert their "doctor" into everything else, and in the process make him super OP and very obnoxious. No, I've never seen Doctor Who, but I probably will eventually. The reason I'm holding off is the same reason I didn't watch MLP the first time I heard about Bronies, basically I don't want to become a "Whovian". I dislike that fandom. I don't dislike the fans, though. Most of my acquaintances are Doctor Who fans, and I've got nothing against them.- 312 replies

I'll try uploading again. There was a database error with the forums last night so that may have something to do with it. GoofyDummyLaugh.mp3 EvilOrcVoicePitchNegative20Percent.mp3 DummyVoice.mp3 CreepyGollumSlave.mp3 CreepyDummyLaugh.mp3 Ident2.mp3 Ident1.mp3 -

I'm no artist, but I love Doom and I'll playtest if you want. I assume this would be Doom II? -
Where are you from and what is controversial there?
websterhamster replied to Taviscratch's topic in General Discussion
I hail from California, and the question should be more like, What isn't controversial here? Everything from religion and politics to scientific opinion/theory/fact is controversial here. It's pretty much impossible to talk to people unless you congregate with like-minded beings, like at church or something.- 87 replies

Voice actors needed
websterhamster replied to Fairly Simps's topic in Trixie's Tricks (Other Resources)
I'd like to be involved, and you don't have to pay me at all! I have two mics which I use for whatever works best, an Audio-Technica 2100USB and a MXL 990. As for voices, I've got a bunch, lots of goofy ones, and I can be serious if I have to; I also know how to manipulate Audacity and make some cool effects, such as robotic or demonic voices. I'll post some samples here when I get the chance. CreepyDummyLaugh.mp3 GoofyDummyLaugh.mp3 DummyVoice.mp3 EvilOrcVoicePitchNegative20Percent.mp3 CreepyGollumSlave.mp3 Ident2.mp3 Ident1.mp3 -
On the Open Nature of the Brony Fandom
websterhamster replied to Gordon Freeman's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Many people treat the Brony fandom as a cult, which in many ways it is. Most of my friends and acquaintances in the fandom adhere to the tenets of Love, Friendship, and Tolerance, and consider this fandom to be the basis for those values. It's almost a religion. And because of those above reasons, I think that being a Brony could very easily be ranked among religion, race, and political viewpoint. It's become more than a mere fandom, it's a way of thinking, a way of life, for many. Thus, I proudly call myself a Brony!
