Shortened URLs

If you've ever seen links like tinyurl, goo.gl, and bit.ly, you've seen short URLs. While helpful at times, they can, have, and will be used for malicious purposes. In the past few months alone, they've been used to link to screamers, viruses, and other harmful content. 

What? Someone used a short URL to link a screamer? And that screamer had a virus??? I assume this person is banned, yes? If not, you guys need to get on that.

Easier Ban/Suspension Disputes

A common problem with bans and suspensions is that many are unaware of how to dispute a ban or suspension. While the dispute email address has always been public, it's not in an easily-accessible area. Now, if you're banned, you'll be provided with the email address. The staff are fallible, and disputes are an important part of ensuring that the system is fair.

Hello there! After failing to find my bookmarks folder in Windows Explorer, I came across my custom dictionary file. This is the place where all the "add to dictionary" words are stored, and I thought it'd be interesting to see what everyone added as real words. The location for the file on Windows 8 is:
C:\Users\(YOUR THINGIEMADOODLE HERE)\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

And one of the files there is "custom dictionary". Go ahead, post what your custom words are :3

I had an idea. Sometimes, I don't know if what I'm posting is against the rules or not (or not against the rules but frowned upon), and on those occasions, I will ask Jeric-chan, SCS-senpai, Aquila, or someone else for approval. However, I think it'd be quite useful if there were a "wait for approval from moderator" button when posting a thread/comment. That way, if someone does something against the rules, it will not be approved, and hopefully they will not receive a warning. I'd asked about something similar a while back, but I was wondering if someone could volunteer for mod queue, not something like this. Anywho, I think it would be useful.  Thanks for reading

Hello there. It's been a while since I've used a site like 9gag and other meme sites, but when I did use them, I was amazed by how many people experienced the same things as me. For example, when I'm in bed, trying to go to sleep, sometimes I'll think of something stupid I did years ago. There was a post on 9gag that acknowledged that. There are many more, but I'll save those for the experiment. Here's one more:

Anywho, getting to my point, I want to do an experiment. It seems too far fetched that all the posts on those sites can relate to my life, so I want to see if I'm only convincing myself that they're true. For that, I'm going to give a list of "relatable things". However, this list will contain three different types of examples: Some are from 9gag or similar sites, some are things that I have come up with and can relate to me, and some are things that I cannot relate to. I want to see if you relate to the same things I do.

For example, one example might be "Every time I try to insert a USB plug into my computer, it's the wrong way." this would be relatable, and if you can relate, you would put down "Y" in the comments. Another might be "I've never liked the taste of ice cream, even though everyone else acts like it's the best thing in the world". I cannot relate to this, and if you can't either, you would put down "N". Got it? Here we go:

1. When I'm eating a meal and I get full, I will finish my food anyway, because I'd feel like a really bad person if I throw it away.

2. Despite a desire to get LGBT people equal rights, it always makes me feel uncomfortable when one of them is near.

3. When clipping my nails, I cut very close to my finger, because the pain is soothing.

4. I keep my clocks 10 minutes ahead, to make sure that I'm never late for things, even though I know they're ten minutes ahead.

5. When I run on a treadmill, I get very angry, and want to punch something, though I don't know why.

6. If the majority of people agree on something, I often disagree for the sake of disagreeing.

7. I sit in a position that is extremely uncomfortable when at my computer, and I'm not sure why.

8. There is no reason for it, but I have tied all my computer cables together with string.

9. I will almost never say "no" to an invitation to do something, because I feel horrible when I consider that I might be missing out.

10. When given the option, I will always try to avoid touching wood, even polished wood, because I'm afraid of splinters.

11. I contemplate life on the toilet.

12. Unlike the majority of people, I much prefer winter to summer.

13. I have a shelf above where I hang my clothes, and I throw my clean clothes on it instead of hanging them up.

14. My top drawer contains underwear and socks, nothing else.

There you go. I might add more later, if this becomes popular, but that's it for now.
