  1. Keep in mind that I'm not entirely sure what has happened, but from information that I have gathered, here is what I have pieced together. Purple Tinker was, and stil is in a way, an influential member of the fandom. She was a former organiser of Bronycon, the largest and most popular brony convention. She had stepped down, over reasons that I'm not aware of. However, I have heard that it involved some drama between staff members. Now here is where it is a bit hazy. Rumours were spreading about Purple Tinker that weren't the nicest of things (such as stealing money etc) and Purple Tinker was able to prove these rumours wrong via her DeviantArt account (link: ). So, a ton of other brony conventions start opening up, which is fine, but apparently, Purple Tinker tried to get people to shut down the cons, such as fellow bronies, and even Hasbro. However, her attempts were fruitless, as Everfree and Canterlot Gardens have gone on just fine. However, from what I've heard, Purple Tinker started spreading slander about the cons, saying things about how there were rape jokes made during the CMC panel, and that there was racial slurs in the hallways at Everfree, and all that nasty stuff. The supposed reason is because the organisers were former Bronycon staff members, who had had fights with Purple Tinker in the past. That is why people dislike her, because she was spreading false rumours about the cons. Remember, I'm not sure how much of it is true, because this is all information I have gathered that may or may not be biased to either party, but in my opinion, Purple Tinker shouldn't be spreading slander about the cons, even if she doesn't like the people who run the cons. She had lies spread around her, so she should know what it feels like, shouldn't she? If this is true, then that makes her in the wrong, because she had a responsibility, and a lot of people were on her side, but she threw it all away for her own gain. I'm not sure if the situation has developed anymore, but like I have said, this is based of evidence gathered from her DeviantArt page, as well as Twitter feeds, Tumblr posts, forums and news sites. If I have anything wrong, or there is more evidence, please don't hesitate to tell me.
  2. Dat feel when you make a large reply, only to find the topic you were about to reply to become locked.

      WhiteLightning

      Lots of locking lately, yeah...

  3. I wish I wasn't so lazy when it came to music.

  4. I think it's mainly because some people want to be able to share the joys that they have experienced in watching the show, in hope that people can join in with the fun that they have had. I don't really agree with the thread title, because not all bronies are like that, and a lot of them don't like talking about MLP at all, some of them are actually embarrassed that they watch it.
  5. NEW ABOUT ME PAGE OMG OMG

  6. Well, a lot of these things are jokes within the fandom. If ya don't like them, then that's fine. Welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy your time here. Such well thought out posts like that are strongly encouraged here. You'll fir right in.
  7. About to write my new about page. It's super cheesy.

  8. I always thought that having a support ticket for technical problems rather than having a boatload (c wut i did thar?) of threads saying "Character limit not working" or "Why can't I change my profile settings?" was more helpful in keeping the forums tidier. I don't think integrating a support ticket into the report feature would work, because you're not exactly reporting a member to the moderators are you? You're trying to solve a personal problem rather than have to give the mods false reports (in a sense). I just think it's more organised having the report system in one area, and the support ticket in another, but maybe a string of text before posting in Feedback saying that it is not for technical issues, and giving a link to where one can open a support ticket.
  9. OMG A BRIT WE CAN BE BRIT BUDDIES!!!1 Hey there! Welcome to our forums! I always love seeing new british people join the site, and everyone's amazing reactions (I get a lot in voice chats). I'm DylanKLJ, but you can also call me Sonic Death. Either of the two will do (DylanKLJ is my main online alias, and Sonic Death is my musician name, which is coming soon). I'll check out that channel of yours, I would love to see some LP's of brony games, maybe even some non-pony games would be cool. So yeah, I hope you enjoy our community!
  10. Yeah, I know that feeling, but actually, you're making the site grow just by posting! Every post that you make is contributing to the site's stats, meaning that it will continue to grow and expand even more than it has already.
  11. Shame I'm not old enough to have a credit card, nor am I able to have a PayPal account. Other than that, this is great for the forums, because those who don't have PayPal can now donate in a really easy way.
  12. You simply copy and paste the URL into the reply box, like so: Welcome to the forums! I'm DylanKLJ, but you can call me Sonic Death. Call me either of them, I'm fine with either of them It's good that you came to the forums now, because you managed to come during it's 1st birthday! This means that you get Premium Membership, so you can change your member title and have slightly larger avatar's for a week! (All of which can be edited in the settings, but you need to become a Muffin to edit these). Once you have made 5 posts, you can come out of the Blank Flank rank, which is essentially like a validating stage before you become an official member. All of your posts count, except in this forum (Welcoming Plaza), Roleplay Realm and the Cloudsdale Colosseum. I'm always willing to make new friends, so if you ever wanna PM me, or join the Skype room and chat with me and fellow members, then feel free! I hope you enjoy your time in this community, as much as I and many other's have.
  13. Pony girl extraordinaire, Pinkazoid, Pinkazoid <3

  14. It may be so. Bronies are increasing by the day, and the community is broadening into a mainstream environment. Public figures such as Gabe Newell, founder of Valve is a confirmed brony, so I really wouldn't be surprised if any of the dev's for Borderlands 2 are bronies.
  15. Slender? Scary? Please. I've never really played many horror games, but from reading reviews, Resident Evil is a good series, as well as the Silent Hill series. You could also try Dead Space, I didn't really find it scary, but it is a really awesome game to play. When it comes to Indie Games, you can choose from a lot. I get a lot of my horror games from PewDiePie, so you could check him out if you want some good scares. Amnesia is suppose to be really good, but I haven't actually played it yet, so I can't say much, and you also said that you don't want to play it, so that's a big no-no. Also, SCP Containment Breach and SCP-087 are really great fun to play.
  16. Well, the fan content is (I hope) inspired by the show, so most would probably say that actually the show is better because of the way that it inspired all the work. However, there are the times where you see amazing things created by the community. In my time, I have seen some amazing pieces of artwork, as well as musical pieces that exceed in quality over the low standard (I think it would've made more sense if I said high, but oh well, it's true) of mainstream music today. So really, I'm kind of in the middle. The show is brilliant, and inspired the fan art, but when you look collectively at what the community have produced, you can see that actually, some of the fan art, music and fics are much better than the show itself.
  17. May make a permanent name change soon. Be warned.

  18. MLP Forums, gee I have much to say. I pretty much joined a few days after I officially became a brony. I searched up 'my little pony forum' and clicked the first result and without thinking about anything, joined it. I do not regret that moment. In the time I've been here (since February, also fairly close to my 13th birthday) I have made so many friends (who I should really talk to more) contributed to the ever-increasing post count, and also been inspired to start making music (more on that later). I know I haven't been posting as much as I should, but I'm pretty sure that when Season 3 hits, I'll probably be at at least 2000 posts. Here's to MLP Forums, to the past, present and future, I will stay with you until the very end, and hopefully try and make a bigger impact on the community. *raises wine glass*
  19. I think that this is a vast improvement to the forums. I was kinda thinking about suggesting a lowering in some of these boards, because it seems kinda pointless having a character limit in boards that don't really provoke much discussion.
  20. While I feel that there are some members who shouldn't have got the position, I suppose it's good for the forum, as a lot of the Section Moderators sorta disappeared, leaving the forum in a mess.
  21. I miss Shanky and Artsy ;(

I'm not, I'm just saying I miss them. I'll probably forget about in about a day or two.

  22. I'm kinda neutral on this. Brohoofs are ment to be used if a user agrees with a post or liked the post, which is why the original saying is 'like'. Now, you see people who gained a significant amount of brohoofs, and whenever they post something that most people have already said, they'll get tons of brohoofs because that person is a high rank and they have more points than most people. That's what annoys me. The thing that doesn't is how these people got brohoofs in the first place. They either made a good post which got popular, or just a stupid meme. Either way, they got them fairly, but when I see so called 'popular members' posting something, then getting a ton of brohoofs, that's when it get's annoying. At one point, I had a post on the top brohooved content, that was because I shared a picture that I thought had some great points about the character Rarity, pointing out that if in any other girls TV show, someone like her would be the antagonist, but also pointing out reasons why she was still a good character (some of you may remember that). That moment felt awesome, and I felt that I had earned it fairly, because I was actually sharing something that most people may tend not to think of. I suppose I'm a fairly successful member in brohoofs, but nowhere near in the calibre of some of the people on this site, even though most of them just get brohoofs because they're popular.
  23. Arylett, you're probably not gonna read this, but I've admired you. You were a fantastic and friendly moderator who always had something interesting to say. I wish you luck in what ever you do next. Also, I kinda feel obliged to add you as a contact on skype, that ok? (even though you won't read it, but still).
