    Stupid Usernames

Maybe I should change my forum name? I dunno, it's pretty unique.
  2. I disagree with this. While from a psychological standpoint, it can be beneficial, it really takes an element away from posting. Maybe a close forum friend posts in the section and they don't tell you. Maybe you would still reply but you wouldn't take them as serious because you don't know who they are. Basically, you could give some advice, then leave, but if it was a friend, you would try and give them more advice, but you wouldn't know that if they were anonymous. Also, there might be troll posts (not that anyone would do that but still) and it can make you frightened that someone in the community is a troll, even though the mods could probably see it.
  3. @@Vicke, I was actually listing European members who were active, not ones suitable for moderation, but ok. @, that was something I didn't think of when I was typing. I know that there are mods who hide their activity, and I don't really know where I stand. I think that if they're hiding activity, then it helps them remain anonymous (mods are watching etc), but I also think it gives the community a feel of abandonment, which is kinda why the thread was made.
  4. Princess Molestia. That way those who are bronies can see the reference, and those who aren't can still find it a funny name. Also, Molestia is a pretty funny name.
  5. Actually, there is quite a lot of European members who are very active. Vicke is an example, as well as me, and ProjectRKA is another example. I really can't see where you're coming from. I agree with this idea, because sometimes when I come on, there are no mods on at all, which can be quite annoying as I think that they could miss a lot of things while they're offline, and remember, not everyone reports.
  6. Finally got my display name back.

My original name was DylanKLJ, then I changed it a few times, then I accidentally changed it to Dylan, and didn't have any changes left. Now it's DylanKLJ again.

  7. @@Arcanel, That's the problem. They care what people think, they're scared of being ridiculed, so Seth will either decline it if he doesn't like it, or be biased by posting what is popular and what people know is already a good standard. I will still go on EqD to find art/music/fics but I just hate the system they use, not the site itself.
  8. The thing is, if you think about it, EqD is more of a media site than a site based around just the show. I think I may have used the wrong term when saying it was a 'news site' because it's more tailored to showcasing what the community makes. Sure, they do news about the show, but it's more of what the fandom produce than the series entirely.
  9. That's the thing. It's so big, that people aren't gonna leave it unless someone actually comes out and says what is wrong with them, which has been done many times, but to not a large enough audience. The main reason they do so well covering the show is mainly because other people submit the news to them, therefore showing lack of journalistic skills in that category.
  10. Basically, Seth only puts in the things that he likes. If you send something in, he (and all the other pre-viewers/listeners) will only put it on EqD if they like it, whereas what they should be doing (as one of the largest and most influential brony news sites on the web) is finding stuff themselves and reviewing it, as well as finding news out themselves. Having to have someone send something to you is bad journalism. Sure, maybe if someone does send you something noteworthy that you haven't discovered and isn't incredibly famous is ok, but if you have to have an entire fandom submit things for your blog? It just doesn't work. Going back to what I said before about only putting things that they like, brony rapper Yelling At Cats revealed in a thread on /mlp/ that he was once a pre-listener, and that Seth told them that they could only put on things he liked, instead of reviewing and critiquing, like a proper news/media blog should. Also, all of the popular musicians/authors/artists will get featured no matter what. A great example is The Living Tombstone, he will always get his things on EqD no matter what. It is a rarity to see unpopular artists get featured on EqD anymore. I recall seeing a non-pony song (a cover of 'Up All Night' by Blink-182, covered by ShadyVox) being put up. I personally think we need a new brony news blog. I for one would actually be willing to start one, but I don't think I have the time to do it.
  11. I personally think it's a new Season 2 DVD. Seeing as all the episodes are 22 minutes long, and the actual running time is 66 minutes, I think it's a new DVD, because 22 x 3 = 6, meaning that it could be a DVD with 3 episodes.Wow, only 3?
  12. Octavia's looking sexual in that banner. I approve.

  13. Ugh, just sprayed some deodorant in my room, and now I'm coughing and have a sore throat.

  14. Great job! I really like the choice of colours and the way they're drawn. Instead of making it look like a simple background, it looks like the colours are part of some conflict, which can be obviously seen in the picture. I also love the contrast of Nightmare Moon and Celestia, and then Woona crying in the background. Brilliant. 10/10 Would bang
  15. Starting to feel less in touch with the community. Doesn't mean I'll leave though, you guys are my crew.

No need to to be a sad guy. You'll find your audience if you keep at it. ^-^

  17. I know the feeling. There have been so many times I've wanted to beat up teachers, sometimes even go further... Some teachers are absolute idiots and their logic is absolutely flawed, but I suppose it's just something you have to live with.
  18. I would love to have a brony nightclub. I know quite a few bronies where I live, so it would be pretty cool to meet up with them. As for activity, well, maybe some non-bronies can come and share the fun too!
  19. Do you mean specifically on the site? Or do you mean a forum endorsed livestream, because Devin was saying that the forums own a Synchtube room they will be livestreaming the episodes in.
  20. I don't think that if we streamed it from a Livestream that's not on the site, it would be illegal. Besides, they're already a ton of streams already, so what difference does it make for us?
  21. So, with the awesome new report system in place, I had an idea recently. As someone who reports quite frequently (or to be more exact, whenever I find a post that breaks site rules), I've always found it annoying how we don't know what is going on behind the scenes when we file a report. For example, if I was to report a post for bypassing the character limit, I would want to know if the mods have decided to go with my report and have taken action, or decided that the post wasn't bad enough to be punishable. My idea is to have a system where if the mods come to a decision to punish the user you have reported, you get a notification from a moderator (or possibly an anonymous mod, giving the moderator the ability to send you the notification anonymously) saying that they have looked at the report and come to a decision to punish the user, or to not punish the user. It doesn't have to be long, just the size of a normal note after a post has been hidden. Example: Opens notification tab A mod has reviewed your report Opens notification Mod: Anonymous We have reviewed your report and have decided to take action against the user. Thank you for reporting and have a nice day. This is an automatically generated message by the way. ~ I'm not sure if IP.Board supports this feature, but it would be nice to know if your report has been approved or declined. I know for a fact that the mods review every report, but like I said, it would be nice to know.
  22. Maybe if we embedded a Livestream video box from a member's stream, then added in a special forum in 'MLP Forums' which has the embedded box, then maybe it could work, but I'm not sure if that's possible. The most easy and convenient way would be to have a link to a Livestream in the slidey thing at the top underneath the banner. I think that would be the easiest way, and we would still be able to have a stream chat because the link would take you to livestream.com or some other streaming website. I reckon it could work, but it would need a bit of preperation before-hand, like making sure we are able to get the stream to stream the episodes etc.
  23. Applejack and Scootaloo, for sure. I think the main reason being is that Applejack doesn't really get as much attention as all of the other Mane 6, and I have yet to see a solo song from her. Scootaloo is because she doesn't really have as much a backstory as the other CMC, and the writers have a perfect opportunity to give her a great episode, but we have yet to see that. Hopefully in Season 3.
