Do you look younger or older then you really are?
FlutterShiny replied to Seaweed-Headed Dragon's topic in General Discussion
When I was a teen, people always thought I was older. Now it's the opposite, I guess I hung onto my youth! Haven't had anyone actually take a guess in a while, but judging by the guys in their early twenties always asking me out because they think we're the same age, I'd guess around that number.- 255 replies

Describe the creepiest person who ever flirted with you.
FlutterShiny replied to Wingnut's topic in General Discussion
FWIW, I was nearly 29 before I had a romantic kiss. There was a guy at work that I had the oddest 'flirtationship' with for a while, I'd always found him kind of cute but there was an awkward age difference so I never gave it much thought until we started talking/interacting more. He'd either send me Facebook messages or whisper to me when I passed about showing him my boobs. Weird, but whatever. I thought he was garden variety weird, you know, like me! I went to his apartment a few times and we'd watch movies and make out. The more I got to know him, the less I like him. He would shamelessly spew incredibly racist comments about his neighbors, thought Pedobear was the most hilarious meme ever, and later on confessed that he kept a Nazi flag under his bed. He also got incredibly turned on by putting his hands around my neck and there was other stuff that bothered me. We kind of just drifted apart and he got back together with his ex. A month or so later, he was hauled out of work in handcuffs and is now serving 18 months in state prison. Evidently he met a girl in an online game and they were swapping explicit pictures of each other and having a sexual relationship via text message. She was ELEVEN. He was twenty two. Looking back now, it's fairly obvious he was a sociopath. I try not to tar everyone with the same brush, but boy did that ever put me off dating younger men ever again. Long before that, I was working the cash register and a guy came through my line and started going on about how women with red hair possess magical powers and that it was a shame my eyes weren't green, too, because that would mean I was a fairy. Then he said "I could take you away from here, magicals shouldn't be in a place like this. I really wish I could get you out of here. Damn, it's a shame your eyes aren't green!" All the while I'm trying to look anywhere but AT him, because my eyes, though hazel, look green most of the time. And then his friend that was with him was looking at the boxes of ramen noodles they were buying and shouted "Wow, I can't wait to try that, they didn't have that flavor in prison!" Trust me, forever alone is much , much preferable to being involved with a creep. -
Coffee. Just lots of coffee, if I'm at home and have time to brew/sit and enjoy it. Usually just with sugar. Every now and then I'll get pumpkin spice or mint mocha creamer, but it's rare. That being said, my coffeemaker died last week and my new one from Amazon won't arrive until tomorrow. I'm having such withdrawl. The instant swill I bought to tide me over just isn't cutting it.

While it's true that Zoidberg is humanoid, they were always going on about how bad he smelled and that's a dealbreaker for me, so I'd have to go pony. I could always get the Professor to invent a crazy machine to turn me into one . . .

A horse walked into a bar. Several people got up and left as they spotted the potential danger in the situation.

Firstly, thanks for the warm welcomes, everypony! You guys sure are friendly. Secondly (I told you it was bizarre!), I explained my two ponies here - http://mlpforums.com/topic/85097-in-what-ways-do-you-relate-to-your-best-pony/?p=2215952 To sum up, it takes the right people to bring out the Pinkie in me, but I was a Fluttershy for most of my life, and do require time to myself, away from people and not talking to anyone, as introverts do.

I work in the pharmacy of a large retail chain, either 9AM-6PM or 12PM-9PM, it varies. I used to be totally enchanted with my job, but now I hate it, but it's 40 hours + benefits so I know I'm lucky considering today's job market. Would really love to find something different though. I did luck out in that I'm very close friends with most of my coworkers, so we don't deal with too much cattiness or in-fighting. Most days I show up just because I know not coming in would screw them over quite royally and I don't want to add to the stress load. But it does take its toll on you, getting yelled at by customers/patients all day. Their prescription is taking too long, their co-pay is too high, we're all incompetent and stupid, the lines move too slowly. Then corporate adds on even MORE mandatory and redundant tasks and refuses to let our boss hire more help. An inspector even came in last week and told us if we all don't have 'sweat glistening on our faces from busting our butts', then we're not working hard enough. But like I said, 40 + bennies and the pet store never called me in for an interview, so I'm staying put.

I don't remember exactly when, but it was sometime last year. I was bored and decided to take a look at the show to see what all the fuss was about. Watched the first two episodes and didn't think it was awful, but I wasn't that impressed, either. Then I got Netflix. Kept seeing the show pop up on the front page and went back to watching it again, usually just before bed. It became a source of stress relief/escapism for me. Dealing with customers and the stress of retail all day really wears on me sometimes, and it was just so relaxing to forget about all the angry people saying rude things to me and go into this colorful, happy little world where everything always turns out for the best, and the sweet, innocent little characters. It really grew on me a lot, and then I got the mobile game and got my best friend at work playing it, too. She doesn't watch the show but enjoys the game and likes to look at the characters - her tablet background is Twilight. Now I have a few plushies, thanks to her and another friend, also Doctor Whooves and Fluttershy Funko figures gracing my shelves together. I kind of want to go to a con sometime soon if I can manage it. You can never have too many fandoms!

Why was Twilight researching genealogy anyway?

Nine is so, so underrated and it's almost unfair. Everyone is all: "DAVID TENNANT IS BEST DOCTOR!" "NOE YOU SUCK, MATT IS BEST DOCTOR. CAPALDI SUCKS I'M QUITTING THE SHOW!" And I'm just over here, watching The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances. Are you my Mummy? Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly love all of the NuWho Doctors for different reasons, but people tend to forget that it's Eccleston's Doctor (And yes, Billie Piper's Rose, another widely hated character) that revived the series. I tried not getting too attached to him because I knew he only did one series, but upon rewatch, it's kind of hard to take that final fantastic line. That being said, I can hardly wait to see where Capaldi takes the role next.

movies/tv Internet videos you find creepy or disturbing
FlutterShiny replied to ninjamon102938's topic in Media Discussion
I'll ditto Salad Fingers. I can sit down and watch most horror movies, shrug, and then go to bed. And that's if I don't turn them off first out of boredom. But that . . . I had to turn it off and then watch something light and fluffy and happy before I could sleep. There is another video called Rubber Johnny that is pretty trippy, but it doesn't really faze me all that much. It is amusing to try and show it to people and see how long before they freak out and say "Okay, that's enough of that. I'm using your phone to look up cat videos for a while now." -
music What do you listen to when you have a meltdown?
FlutterShiny replied to Midnight Dragon's topic in Media Discussion
Depends on the type of 'meltdown'. If something has made me inconsolably angry, I'll listen to heavier rock/metal, Nightwish, that sort of thing. If it's something that's made me feel sad, defeated, or like I really just can't do anything right, I'll usually pick instrumental soundtracks. Two Steps From Hell makes music for film trailers, it usually picks me back up again. -
*sings* Bender is great, oh, Bender is great. Bender, Bender, Bender . . . Also this little guy will always have a special place in my heart - Can't forget Robot Devil, either. I love most of the Futurama bots, they were great. And of course -

How are you like your favorite character from MLPFIM?
FlutterShiny replied to Fluttashy's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I'm also tied between two - Fluttershy - My personality is naturally timid and quiet and I can be very sensitive. Extremely extroverted (and slightly crazy!) friends, along with several years of direct mass customer service has taught me to have a thicker skin, but it'll always be a part of me. Also when I'm faced with a challenge, problem, or awkward situation, I'd much rather go hide in my house, room, vehicle, anywhere I can go, rather than dealing with the issue. I also love animals and feel more at ease with them than with a room full of noisy people. Pinkie - She's just crazy! This is the other part of me that lives on the internet and lies dormant until I find a kindred spirit to have fun with, or really strange and bizarre conversations. Generally I think most people should lighten up, stop being so serious all the time, and have fun! Be silly, be loud, be a little obnoxious! I've found my circle of friends has grown a LOT since I got up the courage to let this side of me show. Sometimes I feel Pinkie keen, other times I just want to snuggle up in bed with my dogs and enjoy a book or movie. -
I came into both fandoms around the same time, although I wanna say Who was probably first. I used to think it was incredibly dorky, but I was basing that on the fact that I'd only seen a few odd Tom Baker episodes and I had a hard time getting past the dated special effects. In fact, I still have a hard time getting through Baker's episodes because of the effects/props, etc. Please don't jump on me, Tom Baker fans! I promise I'm going to eventually watch his series. I'm all caught up on the new series, including the 50th and the last Christmas special, but I still don't have a 'favorite' Doctor, per se. I love them all for different reasons, although I have to credit Eccleston as Nine for introducing me to the series and thus winning me over as a fan. I feel bad for the way I used to scoff at those "weird Whovians"

Let's see, I'm terrible at these things . . . I'm 29, live in Florida, and work in the pharmacy of a large retain chain. I'm a huge animal lover, as are most of my coworkers, whom I am lucky enough to consider a second family instead of just 'people I see at work'. As the avatar indicates, I also love Doctor Who and generally anything fantasy and sci-fi is at least worth a look from me. When I'm not at work or out with friends/coworkers, there is usually something on the stovetop or baking in the oven. I didn't answer the favorite pony question because I can never decide between Fluttershy or Pinkie Pie. I'm a bizarre combination of them both. Also, coffee is life.
