@@Ganaram Inukshuk, I'll add my thoughts here too, haha. Going in order: My thoughts on minimalistic/flat... I think it's a niche. It serves a purpose in key circumstances, and while it may face issues of representing certain things, or suiting certain tasks, it can also suit others extremely well. Basically, I enjoy it, but it's important to know when it serves a good purpose, I suppose. Likes or dislikes... Simplicity is a major plus in certain areas. While detail can be pretty or striking, simplicity can focus on a core expression or facet much more exclusively, without getting weighed down by detail. So yeah, I like that it's clean, clear, and useful. I dislike it only when it's misused or simply fails to deliver an interesting or deeper piece when one would be desired (basically, it's situational). Basically already touched on above. In my opinion, the major pros involve focusing on a core aspect or facet of interest, and conveying it without much fluff or distraction. Another pro is that simple designs just look more accessible and pleasant often. As a con, sometimes the fluff is what people want, or simplicity just doesn't cut it when you could use something a bit more dynamic or lively. Additionally, it can be hard to balance simple with interesting; it basically comes down to really needing to understand how to use your space, and avoiding boring empty/unused space even when your style might create it easily. Preferred designs... depends on the situation and use, I suppose; no good answer for that from me. I'd say it fits, yeah. I'd look at other artists and try to study the nuances of how they make simple interesting and dynamic. Studying the success of others (or failures) really is key to progressing forward in my opinion.

@@Ganaram Inukshuk, I'll admit this type of art isn't my strong suit, as I haven't really seen/understood/drawn enough of it to have a strong ability to critique it. But I'll try to add my own thoughts to this, even if they might be a little vague or sparse. Coloration of background v foreground - I think you did well by this. The background objects look to be a bit more faded, while the frontal images are more vivid and 'stand out' from the image in a subtle but strong way. Overall pony anatomy - Too stylized to really comment strongly on. It looks right and pleasant, so I'd say you're doing well. Eye is really hard to discern given the body color, so that might be a weakpoint (not necessarily a flaw, there's a difference~) of the style you're going for as-is. Placement of foreground objects - Pretty decent. Only thing I can really think of as possibly due for rearrangement is the can; I would almost tuck it slightly in front of the monitor, or behind another foreground object/the pony just to give it a slight plus in depth. Barely noticeable, but it seems like a tiny bit of inconsistency. Other - the shadow of the pony seems to drift right, while the can and monitor have simple shadows directly below with no shift at all. 'Nother little point of inconsistency. Regardless, it still looks like a lovely image. I've said it over PM before, but this really does remind me of one of my favorite youtuber's art styles; they have done really well with stylized simplicity, and I think you're actually following a very similar path. Shading of background objects - It's minimalistic, but fits this style perfectly. Only issue I can think of is the direction the light source comes from; the staff seems to indicate it's from the top right, but the shadows of the foreground hint at something to the left

@@WhirlyPop, I think her design is just adorable. The cream and purple coloration also comes off really well; to me it's a mix between soft and vivid, and it's quite pleasant. Her name is also pretty cute, haha~ I hope to see more of your art around here! Also also, welcome to the forums!

@@LiraCrown, the third seems like it was quite a challenge, haha. The end result looks pretty awesome though. Think my favorite is the second though. Seems to come together pretty well. Anyways, I think this is a lovely thing to practice with; notable props for that. ♥ Looks like you're doing pretty well with it too. Awesome stuff.

If I'm being honest, this reads less like someone trying to have a legitimate discussion or explain something for the benefit of someone else, and more like a statement about how you damn religious people to be less worthy people. Especially given how this back and forth started. I think you're probably better off just letting him go his own way, and you go yours. Whatever words y'all have for each other are not (by the sound of it) gonna hold weight. Plus, there's all kinds of interesting youtube videos out there to watch instead~♥ The comment section sucks, and there's a lot of frustration and bile there somedays.

@@goldheart, could you define what kind of game system you're after? Anything higher end, or well, in general, you're unlikely to find without having to pay a good chunk of money for. Though, you could check places like Craigslist or garage sales for the chance of finding something cheap/old/free.
