I don't think it has to do with her liking/disliking bronies at all. Some people just aren't the huggy kind of person, especially with strangers. Plus, I can't imagine how many fans she meets everyday. I doubt she wants to hug all those people. A brohoof is quicker and it actually makes sense.

I've seen people wearing pony shirts before or playing the mobile game, but that's pretty much it. And when MLP comes up in a conversation (which it rarely does), it results in only a 2 minute conversation about it. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen or heard anything MLP related in public since 8th grade. I guess people change once you go to high school.

For me, slice of life seems to never get old. It's a good way of storytelling and it works very well in the show. I think we have a good amount of action/adventure stuff in the show, but I do agree that it wouldn't hurt to have a bit more (especially this season).

Not really much to say here since most people have already summed up my opinions. Most of season 1 hasn't aged well, a couple of the episodes had controversy (Bridle Gossip, Feeling Pinkie Keen, etc) and most CMC episodes weren't very good either. Some of the better episodes of the season have aged really well though (Cutie Mark Chronicles, Suited for Success, Party of One, etc) and they're still impressive even with today's standards for the show. But season 6 hasn't "aged" at all, lol.

If you're going to let other people's critisisms and opinions keep you from enjoying the show, I suggest you at least watch Spice Up Your Life. The episode's message is actually pretty reminicent of your current situation..

It rubs me the wrong way when people join for that reason. It happens in a lot of fandoms, not just this one. Joining the community or jumping the bandwagon when you don't have much of an interest in the actual thing the fandom is centered around. I joined the fandom because I love the show, not the other way around. Hell, I'm not even very involved with the fandom and it's kind of pushing it to say that I'm part of it. I'm aware that some people jump the bandwagon and don't really like the show, but as long as you're enjoying the experience I guess it's alright.

This reaction from the fandom happens literally every season (I've been watching the show for only 1 year and I know this). People say it's underwhelming and that the "show is going through seasonal rot!!!", then they change their minds once the season actually ends. People just need to stop being so close minded and jumping to conclusions. Watch the whole season before having an overall opinion on the show's current state of quality, god dammit. I admit season 6's first half has some meh episodes (Applejack's Day Off, The Crystalling, Gift of Maud Pie, etc) but people seem to forget all the good things a season does. No Second Prances, Flutter Brutter, Gauntlet of Fire, and Saddle Row Review were great episodes. No Second Prances was able to bring back a character we haven't seen in ages (Trixie obv), have great interactions with Starlight, have them both learn a good lesson, and develop both of them. Flutter Brutter showed tremendous character growth for Fluttershy, as well as finally showing her family. Gauntlet of Fire was easily one of the best Spike episodes in the series, which is a HUGE milestone. Saddle Row Review was possibly one of the funniest episodes in the show. The episodes have flaws but they were still good nonetheless. My only big complaint about this season is that there's no real plot thread, but other than that it's been pretty good so far. Not the best and it could be better, but it's pretty good. Keep in mind that we still have 14 episodes left of the season, that's more episodes than we already got at this point. There's still a lot to go.

That's a great point actually. Sometimes writers can work better with different characters than others, that's something I've noticed with other writers too. Dave Rapp is certainly good at writing Fluttershy, no doubt about that. I guess I should give him more of a chance. Who knows what other characters he might be good with.

If you're talking about Flutter Brutter, the story was by Meghan McCarthy which practically saved the episode. I guess I overreacted though. Rapp did some things right, but he still needs to improve.. a lot.

Best Episode - Hard to choose, but I voted for Saddle Row Review (No Second Prances and Flutter Brutter would probably be my alternative choices) Best Use of Starring Character - Fluttershy or Starlight Glimmer Best New Character - Saffron Masala, Coriander Cumin, or Mr. Shy Best Song - It's Gonna Work or Say Goodbye To the Holiday Best Returning Character - Trixie. Wasn't a big fan of her until No Second Prances. Best New Location - Dragon Lands. We haven't seen that place in ages. Best Writers - Nick Confalone. I liked him in season 5 and he's improving so much this season. And Meghan McCarthy. Yes please. I'm so excited for Ed Valentine's episode. Rapp needs to go.
