  1. Yup, very anxious. Anxious that it'll end up worse than season 6, and anxious that it won't be the final season.
  2. There is one reason and one reason only as to why I would want Twilight to have a love interest, and that's to see how it would affect her dynamic with Spike. I can legitimately see Spike having several possible reactions. He could feel intimidated at the fact that he now has to make room for another prominent male presence in Twilight's life. He could play the role of the father, waiting up at night for Twilight to get home and constantly scrutinizing her love interest, fully convinced that he's not good enough for her. He could play the role of the concerned child, wondering if there's still any place for him in Twilight's life. I would honestly love to see any of these scenarios.
  3. I started warming up to Applejack around season 2, after she irritated me throughout the first half of season 1. The episode that really helped her to become my favorite pony was MMMystery on the Friendship Express. Applejack ends up being the only one of the mane six who is neither involved in the investigation, nor one of the culprits. However, when watching the episode for the first time, I was really scared that she would be one of the culprits, which would have utterly killed the notion I had that she was the most trustworthy of the mane six. I was relieved when that didn't happen. Applejack has since become my favorite pony by a country mile.
  4. After the finale, I most definitely support a Discord/Trixie episode.
  5. You truly never tire of making these sorts of threads, do you, TC? No, I would not advise anyone to get their hopes up about Sunset being introduced in FiM. There's just too much working against it: 1. There is nothing for her in FiM. She simply has no place in the show. She does not know the mane five, she has no home in Ponyville, presumably no family, and ultimately I just don't see what she has to contribute. 2. She is integral to Equestria Girls. Equestria Girls clearly isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and that means neither is she. 3. The staff are clearly going out of their way to ensure FiM remains separate from EG. In the three seasons and 78 episodes that have aired since Equestria Girls became a thing, there has not being so much as one single reference to it with the sole exception of Flash Sentry's two cameos. And Flash's cameos were completely unrelated to EG. There's simply no reason to expect that it's going to happen.
  6. Basically, this. Seriously, I'm curious as to what actually constitutes a "Twilight clone." The only thing that even comes close, I think, is Moondancer simply because her design is simply a palette swap of Twilight's.

  8. Apple Bloom's problem is that despite having plenty episodes of focus, she remains a largely dull and uninteresting character, so it just feels like all that focus has gone to waste. Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo are significantly better characters without having as much focus on them.
  9. Thing is, that subplot was cut, and I would wager the reason was mostly because the writers didn't want the central star of the EG franchise to imply that she wanted out. Wouldn't exactly have been convenient towards the series' continuation. As long as Equestria Girls continues to run, Sunset will be part of it, and will not likely be part of anything else.
  10. No. Sunset is going to remain in her bubble, which is the EG franchise. If she's ever going to return to Equestria, it's more than likely only going to happen in EG-related material. I'd say the best hope for it at this point would probably be one of the shorts next year. And even if she does, she only has a single reason for doing so, which is making amends with Celestia. That's it. She has nothing else there. And she most certainly has no reason whatsoever to appear in the movie.
  11. She's the second most overrated character in all of MLP, behind only Maud Pie. In short, I do not care for her at all.

  13. Personally, I'm quite happy to be in another hiatus. I was quite content when season 6 finally ended, since I would no longer have to endure week after week of disappointment or even rage. So yeah, my hype train won't be leaving the station anytime soon.
  14. Season 6 was a colossal disappointment. - Applejack and Rainbow Dash were both characterized worse than they've ever been in a single season, and Rarity was also written entirely backwards. Ultimately, only Fluttershy managed to come out of the season looking better than she was in the previous season. - There were a few episodes that felt as though they belonged in season 2 or below given how terribly the mane six were characterized in them. 28 Pranks Later, The Cart Before the Ponies, and P.P.O.V. did not feel like they belonged in the show's sixth season. - Newbie Dash was an absolutely pitiful closure to the goal Dash has had since episode 1. - The mane six accomplished next to nothing overall. Outside of Dash finally getting into the Wonderbolts and Rarity opening a third boutique, they mostly just ran around in pointless circles the entire season. - The CMC's new arc was largely glossed over. They deserved far more than just two measly episodes, only one of which felt like a legitimate step forward for them. - Starlight was given almost no positive interaction time with the mane five, and on top of that, she completely damaged her goodwill by mind-controlling them and rendering them without any good reason to want to be friends with her.
  15. Fair enough, but I honestly don't have any more tolerance for her relapses.
  16. That probably won't happen if she continues forcefully exerting power over others and damaging her goodwill. That's the thing about Sunset. At least when she started building up goodwill after her rushed reformation, she never really fell through on it. Starlight has, and yet we're still expected to love her anyway.....for some reason.
  17. No finale pre-season 5 would have been a suitable place to end the show, IMO. This is mostly due to the lack of closure for the CMC. Had the show ended while they were still blank flanks, it would have instantly rendered every single one of their episodes pointless and a waste of time.
  18. I agree that the mane six are pretty much finished, and that's why I want next season to be the last. But giving the show to Starlight out of the blue makes no logical sense. Exactly how would that transition happen? So long as she's still hovering around Twilight and living in her castle, I can't see her branching out to replace her as main character. Furthermore, she's still quite polarizing, as opposed to the unanimously-loved Sunset. Personally, I still can't help but see Starlight as a sociopath who's simply pretending not to be.
  19. I can't help but wonder why you seem so convinced that this is going to happen. It seems extremely unlikely to me.
  20. I'll just rank the mane six's ability to get along with Starlight. 1. Twilight - On top of how much interaction they've had, she's clearly been shown to be willing to allow Starlight get away with most anything, mostly so that she won't be seen as a poor mentor. 2. Pinkie - Despite being quite angry that Starlight made her burn cake, Pinkie is pretty tolerant towards most people, even those who have wronged her. 3. Fluttershy - Given how she has a fairly high tolerance for Discord's antics, I think that she would have a high tolerance for Starlight as well. 4. Rarity - She acted quite stand-offish towards Starlight in their scene together in No Second Prances, and apparently would not let her borrow one of her many dresses. Her sense of generosity would probably also clash with Starlight's selfishness. 5. Rainbow Dash - She has nothing in common with Starlight, and though she enjoys ribbing against Twilight, she clearly still respects her. I doubt she has much respect for Starlight. 6. Applejack - She has received more evidence of Starlight's utterly broken sense of morality than the rest of her friends. On top of that, like with Dash, they have nothing in common. Given how she acts towards Flim and Flam, she obviously doesn't have much tolerance for those who wrong her family. I imagine that if Starlight ever did anything to Apple Bloom or Granny, she would refuse to have any more contact with her.
  21. I'm still hoping that the movie will be a complement to season 7, which will have wrapped each of the characters up and had a fitting ending to the show. Oh, yes, our magnificent writers. The ones who have stepped up to replace the irreplaceable McCarthy, Larson, and Rogers, and frequently get replaced again each and every season. The ones who either have not seen every episode, or flat out don't care about the previous development the mane six have received. The ones who thought that episodes like The Cart Before the Ponies, 28 Pranks Later, and P.P.O.V. belonged in season 6.
  22. No fandom-made character should ever be in the show. It's really just not a good idea.
  23. To throw out a dissenting opinion here, I do not think they are worth watching. IMO, they are simply not well-written. Their plots are incredibly contrived, and their climaxes always descend into one big magic hoopla where anything goes, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. In fact, if you watch them, the first thing you need to understand is that magic in the series can basically do anything, and has no limits or restrictions whatsoever. It does whatever the plot needs it to do. The films utterly fail at juggling seven main characters, and as such, I do think that the humane five qualify as main characters at all. All development in these films go towards advancing Twilight and Sunset Shimmer, and the rest of them receive none of it. They are mostly just around to fill space. On top of all this, the films are not even remotely relevant to the show. They exist in their own little isolated bubbles, and the events of the films are never referenced anywhere in the show, nor is there even the slightest indication that they are even canon to it. You will miss absolutely nothing in the show if you were to skip them. Others will tell you that Sunset Shimmer alone makes the films worth it. Honestly, yes, Sunset is the only thing that the films have going for them. However, if you're like most other Sunset fans, all she's going to do is make you want her to appear in the show, and it's very unlikely that it's ever going to happen. Just my opinion.
