  1. Here to stay, at least for a little bit. :mustache:

  2. Still here, y'all. Got somethin' cooking for ya, coming soon~

  3. Hiya, lurker here. The designs are for the most part good, but do consider using conventional things, like saddles for the notepads or a 'one size absorbs all' jewel instead of a dozen individual enchantments. Do be wary of stacking on details, sometimes it's best just to merge, or discard details. Beyond that, They seemed a bit forced; I personally never liked the split personality gimmick, because it was categorizing complex emotions characters need for conflict. That's off the bat and probably the kind of critique you wanted to hear, but I'll go on to hear myself ramble. Now, a concept is not a gimmick to a character, for me. A character's concept is based on three timeless questions, 'Who are they? What do they want above all in the world? What can I do to stop them from getting it?' These questions cover all the critical areas of a character, like personality backstory and conflict, but the ambition in itself is a character's concept. It's what makes them interesting to read about, because the will to act is often an admired trait--that's what you should be focusing on, me thinks.
  4. And as far as guessing what the universe is, well, even the reality as you perceive it might be wrong. Remember, you're the brain--and the brain can't see, smell, taste, or anything, but it DOES have access to sensory organs that give it receptors. Using these receptors, your brain paints it's best guess as to what's going on. You literally hallucinate reality. With this in mind, seeing as almost every sense you have is based upon noticing vibrations (sound waves, light waves, energy vibrating slowly enough you could touch it), isn't it possible that we only experience a fraction of what the universe might be, solely because we lack the means to detect these hypothetical vibrations? Another theory popularized by Alan Watts is that you call the universe into being, simply by being, yourself. That you are the universe, experiencing itself. That things are only hard, because your skin is soft, things are wet because you're dry, etc. Aspects of reality only become reality to you once you recognize, and give meaning to it. Back to that whole 'if a tree falls, and no-one's around to hear it, does it make a sound?' type philosophy. Basically, without you, there is no universe. And considering that you alone can determine your own reality, it's a plausible idea.
  5. That's exactly what something someone that's not a person would say
  6. I live the relatively safe life of an introvert, but I did get punched in the back of the neck once. Felt weird.
  7. Hiya! I don't usually greet the newbies, but I'm feeling a bit productive today. Welcome to the herd, buckaroo. Just remember Princess Celestia is the objectively best pony.
  8. Hurray for free art!
  9. We should tots plan an RP sometime

Nothing really I can do, in the past they've harassed me, and the host for stupid reasons. Telling us how to run our rp. And more recently, about a year and a half back or so me and Catsle tried doing a 1 on 1. I didn't have a link to the OOC because I was using an Xbox One, and couldn't copy and paste. A mod PMs me and tells me to add a link, and just overall treats me like I haven't the slightest clue as to what I'm doing. I explain to them that its impossible for me, so what do you think they do... put a link for me?... ha that's funny... no they do the reasonable thing by locking our RP. I ask them why they did that, they said you should of put a link. I really should of reported that son of a bitch to the admins... pisses me off to this day.

There's really a multitude of things I can say as a response. But first and foremost, would you want to RP, given the choice to do so freely? Or is the idea of RP in general too 'stained' for you to wanna try it out again? Because if it's the former then I've got a mini-rant, and if it's the latter I actually understand. Either way, wow, whatta d*ck mod--

That mod is what ruined it for me, but I can't get back into it because I'm not on the forums as often as I use to be. I'd just slow everything down with my availability.

  10. *Boops back. With a vengeance.* *And then boops @Snowflake Frostflame*
  11. @Twofer "Hmm..." She raised her spoon, tilting it once or twice, looking over the metal surface before starting to chew on it. "...Have you any family? Friends? Or, perhaps even hobbies?" She asked, an innocent, curious gleam in her eye. As if she didn't know how close she'd been to a fight--either that, or she simply wasn't threatened by it...
  12. @Twofer She paused, and closed her eyes. Making the softest of condescending smiles, giving the smallest wave with a wing. "...Apologies, if my views are riling you up. I would hate to get in a fight." She said, with almost a caring tone--akin to that of a mother. "But I'm afraid my stance doesn't change." She looked up, making a small 'hmmmm...' as she pondered her next words. "...We can talk about something different, if talking of war upsets you."
  13. @Twofer She looked down at her. "...War...In war, both sides fight to the bloody end, a conflict that spans over borders and anything that could be called sane, without a speck of humanity shown. They fight for their beliefs, their right to live, their future--and to preserve the honor of their past. In war, there is scarcely a choice. There is scarcely a moment of rest. They attacked, and I'm sure they had their reasons. And like any rational kingdom would, your kind defended yourselves against the threat. And did whatever it took, so that you may live to see tomorrow. Make no mistake, I am not condoning your actions. They attacked, and slaughtered, no doubt. And in turn, your kind defended itself with any means necessary. But I will say that I'm disappointed with your reasoning behind your actions." "...The day a leader acts on emotion, rather than logic...Let me just be clear. I'm glad, that you were revoked of your position. For leaders who act based on bias, or hatred, is how the second war starts."
  14. @Twofer "...Oh..." She closed her eyes. "...I suppose that's the reason you were but a squad leader. Executed, and then taking things into your own hooves. A liability, if there ever was one. Although, your reasoning and priorities were somewhat valid." She frowned, looking down at her plate, as if starting to think on that situation. "Not even interrogation, nor public execution to invoke intimidation. I might've understood your thoughts, had you done it in a proper manner. But perhaps the worst thing..." "...Bias against the enemy leading to unreasonable hatred, during war. Always something that irked me so..."
  15. @Twofer The dragoness offered another small smile. "...War is something practiced, in my culture. In a word, I suppose, you could call us conquerors. The art of war, strategy, commanding troops...I'm an immigrant in this land, and make no mistake, I'm not here for malicious reason, and I am indeed here on a misunderstanding. But hearing of war..." She ruffled her feathers. "...I don't condone dishonorable tactics. You can speak freely with me--I just wish to know more about you...What your goal was, regarding those crimes...What you hoped to 'change'..."
  16. @Twofer At the mention of 'war crimes', a flash of interest sparked in Nitra's eyes. Prompting a rather serious expression as she leaned forward, tilting her head at the pony. As if the mention of 'war' was something of note to her. "...Really? What was your motive?"
  17. @Twofer "No..." She furrowed her brow, and looked at her plate for a moment. "...Although, I do believe it was a mistake. I was led to believe that surprise 'glomps' was a way of expressing affection in this land. So I tried just that." She offered a small, albeit bright smile, merrily tucking into her meal. "And I can only assume they didn't take to it too kindly, seeing as it caused a fuss, and now I'm here."
  18. @Twofer The dragoness blinked, tilting her head to look at Crimson from her cell--and seemed to think solemnly on her answer, but alas, just as she opened her maw the buzzers sounded, and the guards moved to take them to the cafeteria. And she complied, looking surprisingly docile for a dragon that stood twice as tall as the average pony. Complying without any fuss, or even a scowl on her face, as she let herself be escorted to the other room--grabbing her tray, collecting her food, and seeking Crimson out once more. "I didn't kill anyone." She said simply, sitting down at a table. "I was charged with...Assault." She frowned. As if such a word didn't resonate well with her...
  19. Nitra read whatever passed for the Bible in this world, sitting quietly in her cell. She'd been in jail for a full week--and up until that point, she'd done well to keep to herself, and merely make the best of a bad situation. However, one couldn't help but wonder how or why a dragon was in this prison--and her stature had started rumors running about the prison. After all, she was taller than the alicorns--and if one took care to look, they would see she bore battle scars. A fighter, and a lean one at that; what sort of monstrous crime might she have committed...? Regardless, she tilted her head at the sound of a buzzer. Before marking her page, and setting the book aside--rising, to walk towards the cafeteria once she was led out of her cell by a guard...Offering friendly smiles, at whoever might've caught her gaze.
  20. *restakes claim* thanks, a friend made it for me. X3
  21. whoops here i go again with my greed *stakes claim*
  22. Slowly begin to establish trade with other kingdoms, become everyone's 'Made in China'--bide my time until they're dependent on my kingdom, then claim rule over them--wage war if they disagree.
  23. She refused to be dragged away from her blanket, her cover. Instead of simply giving up on pulling the child into the monster's domain, however, it simply allowed her that article to come with her. When she fell, she landed in the sand, and immediately hid underneath the cover, denying to herself the reality of what just occurred--the black fabric a stark contrast, laid bare against the land for all to see. After a period long enough to be considered a nap, she called out, in a timid, fragile tone, praying for the familiar voice to reply to her. "...Edgar?" And only the whistling winds gave their response, as she cowered under her blanket...
