I'm expecting her to go in cocky try to fight the princeses herself and maybe get a couple good hits in, then get slapped around when the princesses stop fooling around, and then resort to sicking the army on the Princesses in a zerg rush to save herself with Storm king actually being the one to do the heavy lifting. It would synch up with how she royally Screwed the pooch in the book in her mission and got her Flank saved by the storm king's army acting WITHOUT her orders to invade and save her.

Technically she's NOT a former Student of Celestia's she only DREAMT of going to Celestia's school. She had her horn busted before that happened. This is kind of why she was so turned off to the idea of friendship; Her two friends went and joined celestia's School without her, and So made tempest feel like they had betrayed and abandoned her by moving on in their lives without her. She had a mixture of hate and refusal to accept responsibility in her thoughts here: She, Willingly and without being coerced, went into the cave to get the Ball that the group had lost, and got smacked into a Wall by an ursa minor, leading to her lost horn. Her friends had nothing to do with it, but she STILL blamed them because they hadn't done it themselves-- Its kind of like if a person offered a ride to someone and then had a car wreck, they might end up blaming that other person for the event (Its YOUR fault this happened, because if I wasn't doing this for you it wouldn't have happened), in order to accept the blame themselves. So tempest felt hurt that her friends didn't basically hold themselves back in life to always be with her after her accient, and subconsciously also blamed them for the event, which makes a hell of a lot more sense than Starlight's backstory. On another note, I kind of half think that Tempest might end up Starscreaming Storm king at the end; Given her obsession with becoming an alicorn, we could have a Sunset satan/Midnight sparkle kind of situation if she gets the chance to steal the alicorn magic for herself near the end. Its not that likely of course, but its still a possiblity.

So in the Storm road to canterlot book that came out, Tempest shadow's crazy jealous of twilight at the end because her childhood dream was to become an alicorn after attending celestia's university (apparently) what's everyone's thoughts on that? I mean, This seems kind of like a strange ambition/assumption considering its not like the university has churned out any other princesses (that we know of) and having a dream of "become an alicorn" just seems kind of stretching thing for alicorn lore.

VERY unimpressed. These felt horrifically phoned in and slapdash. Absolutely a drop in quality; I actually found the Equestria girls MINIS shorts to be better than this, as at least there was a few good visual gags in this. This just felt soulless and like a bad attempt to use fan service of FIM stuff to get by (Hey, remember the pony tones?! Or Photo finish?! or Fluttershy's yay?!), without any real creativity here. Additionally, the music video was easily the worst song yet, which is sad as music is usually a big saving grace of the EQG world; the video doesn't even make any SENSE, as its just this random event of twilight making a Robot dog friend for spike while Fantasizing about Timber with giant hearts in her eyes--- the other videos usually had a plot of some kind that made sense behind them. Now, I WILL say I do think the animation is actually better than normal; felt a little more fluid and well colored/shaded than normal, so I do hope they stick with this animation studio, as I do think its a step up. But a marginal increase in Video quality without any substance behind it is really not much. Yeah, pinkie at the diner and the daring do one still aren't out. Plus there's that music video of the mane six and Big mac fixing up that Van with their super powers. BOOBIES No, yeah, Confused about that myself. -

Starlight and Trixie fans, bad news...

Yes, yes, and more yes. very little advertising so far, and no trailers in movies. I'm hoping the movie is able to succeed anyways and that hasbro can compensate with a strong late advertising campaign (lots of commercials and ads elsewhere), but they've been very poor so far, they should have had Trailers in Despicable me or cars 3 to get the word out to the target audience.

Is the movie coming out too late?
Unlikeable Pony replied to CastletonSnob's topic in My Little Pony: The Movie (2017)
>image Sure the primary Audience may still be little kids, but if you TRULY want to make the big money, like movies like despicable me, toy story and Frozen raked in, you need to hit it with adults, and Hasbro KNOWS that they have a thriving (if small) audience of adults for the series. There's a reason they've had stuff aimed at adults in the past (the various blindbag stuff or the fan series GOH statuettes), and that's because while the adult fandom for their series is SMALL, we have much, MUCH more disposable income than little kids and are willing to blow it on things that they could never sell to kids (look at the high priced transformers toys they sell to their adult fans for example. As an example of how aiming for both adults and kids is the best way, the EQG minis have been such a smashing success because BOTH little girls and adult fans like to buy them, compared to how adults hated the normal EQG toys with a passion). I will freely admit that we're not the main target, but to deny the pull and sway we have on their bottom line is foolish-- I wouldn't be surprised if adults made up 20% or so of their total sales. -

I gotta agree, haber returning has me feeling pretty antsy for the finale (especially after we had Starlight shoved into the EQG special's climax special), which is kind of sad because, prior to the announcment of Haber's return, I was actually getting pretty psyched for the Legends of magic plotline.

spoiler The S7 finale HAS to be focused on the Mane 6
Unlikeable Pony replied to Sly's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
because the comics clearly state that the pony of shadows got it on in the past and had Biological children, meaning he/she HAS had children and descendants; Given how they're treating the POS, I'm betting they're going to take the route of "AJ was quoting a legend, and its not correct, the actual origin for the pony of shadows is different". After all, The seventh LOM comic is almost certainly going to have the pony of shadows in it in some form (since I doubt the sirens will be in the S7 finale). and given how Starswirl is in that comic it implies the pony of shadows existed before luna turned into nightmare moon. -
not sure what you're saying here. I'm saying that they should have released the movie BACK in Season 3 or 4 due to the series having more momentum back then and the brony fandom being larger (while the Target audience fandom was roughly the same size). Jumping the shark doesn't enter into anything here, I'm merely talking numbers and momentum, and the show was probably strongest in S3/S4; its begun to decline massively in Show ratings and its toy numbers are wobbling a bit downward currently.
