    This is more due to not having the burden of the "I learned that my destiny in life is to stay at home" bit from the Cutie mark chronicles She hasn't really shown any more potential, she just lacks the anchor that Pony AJ does, since it would be a retcon to give her ambition now.

    On the plus side, I'm at least happy that they backpedaled on using the quintessons as the Transformers creators and had one of the thirteen show up (which technically still works as their "creators" since they made the well of sparks and all, while not being 100% true due to primus). The quintessons as the transformers creators hasn't been canon for years now.

    twilight being different than pony Twilight is one of the things I like MOST about this series. Honestly, I wish ALL the characters would act different from their pony selves; its boring and predictable when they're just cardboard cutouts of their pony selves. By having them act differently it helps to shake things up a bit in dynamics-- For example, Twilight's personality being different allows Sunset to work as a leader and twilight to at as the smart guy of the group instead, compared to pony twilight's leader role. Sadly, at this point they've solidified the other 5 a bit too much to do too much changes

    I like to give the EQG series the benefit of the doubt (Quite enjoyed the recent monday blues video for example), but I really don't think its up to the same level of FIM at the moment, or ready to actually carry a theatrical release by itself with the current fandbase.

    Better than the previous Summertime shorts: That's not much of an accomplishment, but it still needs to be said. Pet project was basically "May the best pet win: sunset edition", and was cute, but was also kind of banal. Not much to it. Just an average 5/10 episode. But, Like I said, LOADS better than the previous crap we got so far from the shorts. Heh, I will admit, I did actually chuckle and enjoy the celestia one though. Her eye twitch near the end was pretty good, and I did enjoy celestia's beleaguered personality in it. Also kind of had to ask "What the heck is Dash doing outside the school during class hours with that ball?" Principal celestia is WAY different than normal celestia though, Princess celestia comes off as WAY more composed than this. Kind of wish Sunset had adopted that cat from the previous music video instead, but I guess Rarity already has a cat and they don't do repeats. Kind of find it funny how gummy is a stuffed animal in this world though. Its not like pet gators don't exist in real life

    More starlight? Bleh. my enthusiasm is gone. I get a feeling this will end up as a "Mane six fight due to getting caught up in the crowd's feelings, starlight comes in and gets them all to stop fighting" kind of plot ala how the group were all fighting in EQG 1 and needed twilight to come in and make peace.

    Going to be honest, I kind of wish she'd keep the name "tempest" though, it at least sounds usable.... Her real name is pretty clunky unless you change it to calling her "fizzy" as a nickname

    The copper piping in her bathroom also gave off a bit of an old/ rundown look, given how its running outside of the walls instead of behind the walls to the knobs.

    I don't know, at the end of the movie its confirmed that she gets reformed and joins the others in a celebration. So she might reveal her name to be fizzlepop when she joins the group for the friendship celebration.

    Hanazuki is a great example of something that speaks against such a thing; I find it to be just banal sight gags and quirky sounds; its not a show I'm really very much a fan of. Sure, I get that its aimed at a very young audience, but past that excuse, its still a pretty poor series IMO; Not a good thing to tell me that EQG series might be like

    one thing I find interesting about sunset's home is how it looks like a tiny apartment (I guess she lives alone after all and is 18?) and her house looks kind of jury rigged and kind of junky; she uses christmas lights for light and her clock is duct taped together and cracked.

    Eh, those are probably just tiny "for the episode/song" outfits and not a permanent design change like how the upcoming shorts having pinkie in a diner outfit or whatnot. The image from OP looks like a Music video type thing to me.

    Eh. I'm all for an EQG series, but NOT a youtube series; that basically screams "Tiny 60 second-120 second shorts" to me, not unlike the summertime shorts we just got; and I HATED the summertime shorts. I just don't have faith in hasbro to not phone it in if they're doing it as a youtube series.
