Saturn's Polar Hexagon has always been a challenge for me to capture. I think I got it this time! Had to push my Celestron C8 a bit past its optical limit to do it.
Saturn is much brighter than the background stars nearby. The exposure time needed to show them and some of its moons would completely wash the planet out.
Some UV images of Venus from the last 3 months. The planet will begin to appear brighter and larger each day until it reaches inferior conjunction in October. When Venus becomes a thin crescent, it is possible to image the night time side, which has a thermal emission at 1.1 microns.

I use to play the official MLP game a lot, though not as much nowadays. I'm level 44
I did not know that the game data won't transfer to another phone. That sucks because my phone is near its end. lol
They do, which is amazing, considering that Venus rotates so slow. The cloud structures are only visible in UV light, which makes it difficult to image as our atmosphere scatters shorter wavelengths like crazy. Focusing those fine details is hard in that part of the spectrum.
I would travel somewhere rural where it is difficult to enforce things like curfews. Yakyakistan might work and I think it's outside of Equestria's jurisdiction.
It would be neat if there was an MLP based weather app. Rainbow Dash pouncing on a storm cloud pretty much describes this past weekend and is in the forecast for tomorrow.
It will be almost 9pm in an hour. I will likely watch some stuff on Youtube and tidy up a few things in the house, as I will have another busy week at work.
I'm not sure of the exact date, but this time last year was when I first started watching MLP:FIM. That was made possible by my new satellite internet service, which I also got around the same time.
My username sorta comes from one of my hobbies of collecting uranium glass, where the uranium oxide additive glows bright green under UV light. Plus, it sounds cool. lol
I plan to give Gen 5 a chance, but even if it doesn't hold my interest, I will still be a fan of Gen 4. Great fan made content is still being made, so I suspect that will continue well after Gen 4 ends.
When I was a kid, I would spend most of my allowance money on Pokemon cards. Nowadays, I collect crystals (I love quartz for some reason), Uranium glass, and some 16 bit era video games.
I'm definitely an introvert as I find being around a lot of people to be a bit exhausting. It doesn't seem like it when I'm around family or people I know. I tend to get really nervous when a stranger starts a conversation with me, but I progressively get more comfortable if the topic is of interest. Sometimes, I can be too talkative. lol
Last night was quite humid. I think I spent more time drying the optics with the hairdryer than actually looking at the sky. lol. Rain is in the forecast for the next several days. Afterwards, my next targets are Venus and the Lagoon Nebula.
Mars rotation can be seen by cycling thru the images. Imaged with the Skywatcher 16 Telescope.
