  1. I bought a ton of stuff so uh... not really, no. It hates me right now.
  2. Absolutely not. The life you have is all you'll ever get. There's nothing beyond our lives here. The life we're given isn't simply a test, it's all you have. Make the most of it.
  3. I'm not afraid of death itself. That doesn't bother me, especially cause I've often thought of bringing it on myself (I'm treated now, don't worry). What I fear is a slow, painful death. One where I waste away, unable to do things for myself. The process is what I'm not too keen on, not the thing itself.
  4. An equal huh? Well that's an interesting take. Glad someone thinks highly of me.
  5. Wonder how they're fixing that if they're not just sending a new controller back. Would be interesting to know what causes this to happen.
  6. Not really in an order or anything: A Link to the Past Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 Mega Man 2 Mega Man X Super Mario Bros. 3 Crystal Castles Command & Conquer: Red Alert 1 & 2 Starcraft Call of Duty: World At War Perfect Dark Star Fox 64 Chrono Trigger Super Mario RPG Final Fantasy 6 (don't @ me) Persona 4 Borderlands 1 & 2 Starcraft 2 And tons more I could rattle off but I'll stop there.
  7. Have been playing this since Mega Man 2 was brand new. I have a Mega Man X big box for the PC too. 2 is still my favorite in the original franchise.
  8. I quit giving a shit about Castlevania when it went to 3D but I sure do love the 2D titles. Have yet to beat one because NES difficulty! But hey, I get father each time I play!
  9. Sounds more like you want to go into a Lowe's to bang the two by fours.
  10. Ah. Makes sense. I'm less familiar with the C64 than I am the Apple II and 80s IBMs.
  11. Today, I bring you a double shot of Random Game Post! The second entry for today's agenda is the unusual HK Chinese game Dragonman! Released in 1999 for Windows by GameOne, Dragonman only saw a release in Hong Kong and in Cantonese and Mandarin. Truth be told, I don't know very much about this game. From what I've been able to find, the game is based on the Dragonman comic series, popular in HK and published by Jade Dynasty. The game looks to be a turn-based RPG, much like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, albeit set in the Dragonman universe and told with a "comic expression system" style. Haven't found much else beyond the basics so I'm not sure if it's just ridiculously obscure or never made it to the West.
  12. And we continue the Random Game Post series with another very early home PC game: Temple of Apshai. Technically, it's part of the "Dunjeonquest" series of games by Automated Simulations. The series later became an Epyx title. Temple of Apshai was first released all the way back in 1979 for the Commodore PET and the TRS-80! The copy that I have is, obviously, a cassette edition for the Commodore 64, released in 1983. Given that the game was first released in 1979, it does not have much in the way of fancy graphics or sound. It is, however, a very early progenitor of the 'roguelike' branch of games, and is quite similar to the game Rogue, also from the same era. Temple of Apshai is a top down, dungeon crawling game where the player explores a multi-level dungeon filled with monsters and treasures to find and loot, which is like the games of today, albeit more primitive. In terms of games from the earliest days of home PCs, Apshai is up there with Ultima and Wizardry, only a bit less well known.
  13. The back because I didn't really need to worry about it.
  14. When it concerns genuine social media, I have two: Facebook and Twitter. But I only ever use my Twitter to whine at Treyarch support. If you expand the definition, then I have Reddit and YouTube but I never use YouTube for uploads. If you REALLY expand the definition, Discord and Skype too.
  15. Today's entry is the somewhat underrated point-and-click adventure game: Beneath A Steel Sky. It was first released in 1994 for the Amiga and DOS. The copy I have is actually Argentinian, though I'm not entirely of its release date in that region. The cover art on this one is the variant used for every region except North America for some reason. Not sure why the US got a subpar version of the cover. Anyhow, as stated, it's a point-and-click adventure game, much like those put out by LucasArts and Sierra. Interestingly, it's set in Australia during an alternate future where cities are owned and run by corporations, and the vast technological wasteland titled "The Gap." The story follows a man named Robert and his droid as they search one of the technological cities after his tribe was wiped out. It has a dark, dystopic sci-fi aesthetic and executes it quite well. Highly recommend.
  16. Most stereotypes are vaguely rooted in some form of truth. Because, let's be real, there have been plenty of people in the fandom who fit that description perfectly. And, of course, plenty who don't. I might be overweight, but I'm intelligent and have plenty of skills. Couldn't start a career in IT if I didn't. As time goes on, the stereotypes become less and less true however... to the point that they're functionally meaningless pejoratives.
  17. Hey now. Kansas City is the best. Tis where I live after all. Let me think here. The last time I went on vacation, I believe, was 18 years ago to a family reunion in Texas. I'm hoping to see my boyfriend in the UK next year though.
  18. I'm thinking I really don't want a stress-induced nuclear meltdown to happen due to work, but it probably will.
  19. I rather enjoy where I live. I live in a small community where it's quiet and peaceful, and there's not a lot shit that goes on here. If I want to go do something, I can drive a little ways to do whatever I need. Sure, I have to drive for all of my medical stuff, but it's not too far and I'm only a half hour or so from the Transgender Institute, which has been really nice for transition. Granted, I live in somewhat of a "redneck town" but I still enjoy it... except for the fact I'll probably get shit for being trans and I can only use Comcast.
  20. I don't go super often but I'll be going more often to get new clothes. Best place to get things that fit me!
  21. But, like, I'm in my mid-30s and haven't lost any of that with my boyfriend. Admittedly, he's a fair bit younger than I am, but we're both acting like silly teenagers deep in love. I haven't lost anything due to age. OP sounded like he was stereotyping because that's sure as hell not how my relationship works. Heck not even my parents are like that! You don't have to give up childlike fun as you get older, which is what the OP sounds like he's compelled to do. Trust me. Don't. Your soul won't be crushed as easily...
  22. You... you're not wrong. Battlefield fans are unbelievably obnoxious.
  23. Depends on the phone. I just pull images off google and use those for my home and lock screens, and I use music tracks as my ringtone. Currently, my ringtone is Schala's Theme from Chrono Trigger. These should help you get started: https://www.androidcentral.com/adding-custom-ringtones-and-sounds-your-android https://www.lifewire.com/changing-android-ringtone-1616828
