    It's very much a thing where if people don't panic and take reasonable precautions, we'll be fine. Unfortunately, our media wants people to panic so they'll buy more newspapers. I've seen people stressing out over seeing Asian people wearing those hygiene masks, thinking that means they're contagious... No, that's just what they do when there's any cold or flu going round.

    At one point I had something similar! Except if the force field activated while my hands/feet were outside, it would of course slice them off. I was much more concerned with my extremities being amputated back then than I am now, clearly. Dunno if that's a good thing.

    The other day i found out there are Studio Ghibli movies on netflix, and they're all ones I haven't seen. So I watched Laputa, finally, and really enjoyed it!

    You know, I encountered vegan wine the other day. Which made me wonder; is wine not normally vegan? I was told that fish guts are used to strain wine when it's made. So I looked into it, and apparently there's a step in the winemaking process where a protein is used to refine the wine- usually a milk, egg or fish-based protein. The more you know!

    i think this is one of the big problems they're running into. No matter how big and universal a 'do not touch' sign you make, the human urge to 'touch anyway' is nigh unconquerable. Hopefully whatever lifeform inherits the planet from us is sensible enough to leave our radioactive garbage alone (or advanced enough to just render it all harmless). To be fair, it doesn't. I'm just trying too hard to use a gag to segue my current spiky-danger-architecture obsession into a thread about nuclear bombs.

    This is the only valid answer. On the topic of fallout (small f) and disposal, I came across an interesting concept recently- nuclear warning architecture. basically the plan is to build a bunch of weird, ominous spiky monoliths on top of wherever the other ponies in this thread detonated their bombs, nuclear dumping sites etc, so that whatever societies re-evolve after humanity makes itself extinct will, hopefully, have enough sense to leave the area well alone for 10,000 years. The proposed inscription is strangely chilling. People are actively preparing for the post-apocalyptic wasteland the Earth will one day become. Don't know about you, but this really makes the wrongness hit home for me. Edit: No pictures in that link, so check this one.

    I had a similar situation- always found it kind of ironic that the boyfriend was the one in the relationship watching the girls-targeted pony cartoon religiously, rather than myself. But it's always parents that get weird and judgemental about unnecessarily gendered things- guys need to be comfortable with liking things that are pastel-coloured if they want to! And the age thing is another- yes, it's intented for younger audiences, but again, who makes these kids' shows? Adults, duh. As long as you respect kids' space to enjoy a thing, go nuts and enjoy it too (unless you're one of those people over 99+ that try to play with Lego. The box clearly says that's illegal). I don't really have merch that I wear or carry around, but I do have a bag I use- a shopping bag branded for the movie- and some guy made a sneery comment about it being for 'little kids'. Pretty sure he was wearing a Pokemon hat, so I didn't wanna get into that particular argument with a rando at the library...

    They're very expensive but honestly, the sculpt and paint apps look amazing so I'm not surprised. The pose and expression on the pony Pinkie? Amazing. They really nailed making it appropriately lively.

    Godzilla is great. Only trouble is, if you wanna watch all of it, you have to start digging around for very old copies of very old films whose subtitling and/or localisation state may be dubious at best... but that's drifting a little off-topic since they're generally not anime. The Godzilla anime trilogy I feel are at the good end of these various CG anime that have been coming out recently, I'm still not totally sold on humans in that style but it works for the kaiju and machines, I think.

    See also; forgetting that physical objects do not have a search function, and I cannot just google the location of an item in my cupboard instead of looking for it manually.
