"Princess Celestia would be a fun individual to be a friend of IMO, if me and some friends I know existed in the fictional world Equestria as Ponies I could easily see myself being friends with her, they'd like her too including you I'd imagine. Celestia is fun, she does not stress out too much about things that cannot be helped, I think people underestimate her wisdom sometimes, she knows nothing is perfect, so she tries her best to make life enjoyable for herself and other residence of Equestria. Her personality is beautiful, to put it simply. Yes, she tests others ability to solve problems but despite the trollestia memes about her, she does not enjoy making others suffer, and what I would respect about her, is she encourages others to figure out problems on their own. What is the alternative? her babying her subjects and doing everything for them? that is worse, IMO."

Some people may call me a wimp for this, but Queen Chrysalis is one villain who would scare the living daylights out of me if I were in the fantasy world Equestria from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. I would not let that stop me going to that place in an imaginary scenario it could happen, though, because sometimes in life to get the result we want, even for the purposes of friendship, love and redemption, we need to face our fear. On the good note, since that place is not real, we do not have to deal with villains from that world.

Any thoughts about Princess Celestia? the older sister of Princess of the Night, also known as Princess Luna?

I think Lullaby for a Princess music video did justice to the history of Princess Luna and Celestia, even after banishing Luna to the moon for a thousand years, Celestia must have been heartbroken. It would not have been an easy decision for her, some people may think she was at fault for this, but people need to try to imagine themselves in her hooves, what would they had done differently if their own sibling went on a rampage because of a misunderstanding that turned violent? it would not have been fair or reasonable, to expect Celestia to just let herself be killed in battle. Of course I like Princess Luna, however as you said, to serve her is to also honor her sister. I don't support the animosity some fans have toward Celestia either, it is not easy to rule a Kingdom, even in the real world, politics is difficult. What I like about Princess Celestia in MLP FIM show, she rules her Kingdom without causing war, where others resorted to violence, she shown mercy, so yes, I do love Celestia, I don't agree with every decision she has made however disagreements can occur with civility and compassion, there is a thing called being bipartisan.

I don't like that video.
I know that places me in a very small minority.
It's a jewel of the fandom by a very solid majority consensus.
Nothing is going to change that.
What happened was terrible, it was a public tragedy and disaster for Equestria, a family tragedy for the Princesses and worst of all a very dramatic magical imbalance.
So, ponies everywhere are going to try to deal with it in their own ways, and some pony made the video, and it seems to have struck a chord and resonated with a great many ponies. Which is fine. I don't agree. I don't like the video, I have my reasons.
But, I am not an unbiased voice, though I might counter that by saying that on this matter, no one is unbiased, and that in itself is a good thing.
Equestria is not what it is because ponies tend to take an objective view of things.

That is fine, I cannot say I liked the ending of the official show from G4 though, while I suppose Princess Celestia and Princess Luna would have to retire some time, the way that was done was careless, and out of character, you see, Princess Twilight Sparkle needed more time to prepare for her eventual coronation in my opinion. This could have been dealt with in G5. A story about new Ponies as well as Mane Six ruling Equestria with balance in mind. In my fan fiction of MLP after some thought, if I continue on writing it, I will write the story in a way that leads up to Luna's and Celestia's retirement, but as Alicorns who have served their duties and are immortal, they ascend to Nirvana, a higher state of being, in this state they exist in a realm of eternal peace, they can go almost anywhere in the multiverse (A bit like Goku at the end of Dragonball GT), and voluntarily give guidance to any mortal who needs or wants it from them. Adding a bit of eastern mythology enhances the magical aspect of Equestria IMO.

Larger than mp3 yes, FLAC IMO offers the ideal middle ground between metadata support and quality. It's lossless, but it doesn't consume almost a gigabyte per CD album in doing so. Depending on the compression ratio a CD consisting of 20 songs can get below 500 megabytes. I hope Amazon scraps mp3 for new customers and upgrades to FLAC for music distribution, Beatport and Bandcamp are way ahead of them.

Not sure why some people would assume WAV is better than FLAC or ALAC for music listening. They're identical when in use, WAV is wasting space, as for the CPU usage thing, it hardly uses anything on my Pi 5 setup in Jriver, 2%. If a single board computer can handle that with ease, any modern hardware will. The loss of convenience for library management with metadata is not worth the minor performance boost IMO.

Beatport is another alternative I use, any legit music provider for downloads or CD singles or albums is better than streaming though.

Agreed, out of all features in media players, song rating is perhaps the most useless feature in them. Great, some people rate some of their songs 4/5 or whatever, but nobody cares. People either like listening to a song or they don't. Chances are if people have songs on their device for long periods of time, a month or more, they either like the song or ignored its existence, so we'd assume. Rating a song does not automatically make it more popular, surveys are used to determine that, not the rating itself. All I use Jriver for on my device is to listen to CD's I like, if I don't enjoy a song, I skip it. I'll be putting Ponyphonic - Lullaby for a Princess on this thing later on. It goes without saying yeah I use Bandcamp to get some songs digitally, the only exception to the listening to CD thing I mentioned.

Calm, listening to music on my computer is helpful for that. I got great friends like Snoopy Fan to talk to on this forum as well. I've not been active on Twilight Soapbox recently, and to be fair with you I see no reason to discuss things for the sake of it. It's more the case of, what is bothering us at the time is when it works. And as for my My Little Pony FIM fan fiction, I can discuss that without Twilight Soapbox involved, I only brought it up there for comparison, why me and my friend @Night Sky here would rather live in the fictional world of Equestria from G4, than the hellscape that is the real world. At least villains there end up defeated some time or other, and it doesn't take them growing old and dying for that to happen. Love is almost like a universal law in Equestria, but here in the real world, and especially in communities outside this forum, love is not valued as much as it should be, relationships are often toxic and more about ulterior motives, and even individuals with a sketchy history who did make an effort to reform, people are quick to ignore that, look at critics of the Beauty of the Beast movie and you will see what I mean. Redemption is not possible? only if you believe that to be the case, and unfortunately that is a view held by many. That's the reason I've been avoiding the Twilight Soapbox forum section, I don't want to discuss anything which is either unnecessary or is a waste of time. -
I liked this episode, this showed Twilight Sparkle's fairness to her friends, while they all ended up getting tickets for the Grand Galloping Gala at the end, I think this was quite possibly Princess Celestia's way of testing the bond of their friendship, would Twilight Sparkle willingly exclude any of her friends from fun? I think Twilight Sparkle's love for her friends was shown well in this episode where if not every friend from her group of Mane Six could go to the Grand Galloping Gala, then neither go. Creating jealousy in friendships can be toxic. episodes like this one, remind me why I love Equestria so much. -
So awesome I managed to complete my desktop theme on Linux. Pastel green adds a whimsical touch to this.

I was thinking of this part of my MLP fan fiction for the final chapter which I am not even close to writing yet, but this is a sticky note idea type of thing to keep the basic concept memorized, where Discord places his magic of his immortality in a crystal, then asks Fluttershy's ghost to either keep it or smash it, he does not try to stop her, and tells her she can do what she likes with it. Fluttershy after seeing what eternal separation is doing to Discord's psyche, she does the merciful thing, and grants him peace, Discord fears growing old, but Fluttershy reassures him he will be okay, and that one day they will be reunited to be together for eternity and at peace. this corrects an abysmal piece of writing from G5 official, where Discord's fate is much worse than the alternative. I know he has made mistakes, but he does not deserve this outcome IMO.

Whoever drew that picture of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash is clearly a good artist. I think they're cute.

I got screenshots working on my Linux system, it was simple actually, all I had to do was press the print screen key, and it activated an application called grim. On another good note, I installed the Sandisk extreme pro sd card in my machine and it is much faster, especially noticeable with web browser use. True SD cards generally die quicker than SSDs do, but those things are cheap to replace anyway so I'm not too worried about it. As long as I got important files backed up who cares, does not take long to install Debian.

I like this desktop theme I put together on my Linux system, thanks to the MLP 2017 movie DVD I have a copy of. I could not do this on Windows because of the copy protection nonsense interfering with screenshots, I'm giving up with Windows altogether from now on. The final straw for me was when I could not make a screenshot of a film I paid for a licensed copy of, both for personal use and commentary on forums. Wouldn't something like that would fall under fair use? I'm not a lawyer so I don't even know for certain. Either way, Windows sucks, it is too restricted, not in terms of compatibility for software, that is not the issue, the issue is how it can be annoying to customize the look of, as evidenced by posts here. Anyhow, I enjoyed Ponyfying my Raspberry Pi 5 desktop, it has been a rewarding experience.

Finishing rewatching episode 3 of My Little Pony Friendship is Magic - The Ticket Master. I like how fair Twilight Sparkle was to her friends, forfeiting the tickets because she did not have enough for everypony in her group. How many friends do you know who would do that for you? when people value their relationship and needs of each other more than their own wants, that is love. Sometimes being there for a friend is more important than going to some event you're only going to see once in a lifetime. This is what makes me respect Twilight Sparkle, this is who she is and is meant to be in the show, and I'd like to have a friend like her if I were in that fantasy world as a Pony myself, I could learn a lot about friendship from her influence, and she and others like her, are the reason why I would love Equestria so deeply.

The Simpsons is a great show too. Yeah I get the joke, everybody else here would. But thinking about how many episodes I had watched from that show, Treehouse of Horror specials are some of my favourite ones.

Some people on other forums may have questioned why I am now using a Raspberry Pi 5 for using MLP forums. The reason for that is simple, its low energy drain, it's an eco friendly option, especially now that I got my LED lights on my shelf pulling energy with it, which serve both as decoration and as a modern desk lamp. And because it doesn't have a built in fan, it's less noisy as well which makes it ideal for a jukebox setup. And because it does not generate so much heat, I can keep my room cooler in summer. Not every application needs a souped up x86 machine with dedicated graphics cards, kind of the reason not everybody needs to own a sports car on a -40mph limit road, what it is used for and why does matter.

Still listening to a Ministry of Sound CD album on Jriver. This album was put together by Boy George and Judge Jules and I got to say it is one of the best albums I have listened to.
