  1. Personally, I do, and quite often at that. If I see a topic that may potentially interest me on any forum, I instantly check to make sure there are only a few dozen replies before I make a move. I don't like submitting input to threads with a load of posts already made to them, as I fear my voice will be a mere speck of paint on the canvas. For this reason I haven't often posted amongst you all, because there aren't a whole lot of interesting topics that don't include a million different people speaking all at once. Do any of you fellows out there having similar feelings in regards to this? Or am I being left to starve here?
  2. I do, very much so actually. If someone has a crappy looking avatar, I'll tend to think they're not too bright. If they have a really nice looking avatar, they usually come across as at least decently smart. I can also see what interests they may have from their avatar, but I never usually come to a final decision about someone based solely upon what they choose to represent themselves as in an online community. The posts that their avatar is actually displayed next to are quite invaluable as well. Someone who uses horrible grammar and spelling doesn't usually interest me, it may sometimes even tick me off. On the other hand, someone with near perfect grammar, spelling and punctuation is someone I can usually trust to be worthy of my respect. Similar factors go into deciding whether or not I like an individual I meet in person as well, such as how they look, dress or speak. Judging is something everyone does no matter what they say, though some more than others. It isn't something you can simply put off completely.
  3. I'd have to say Gerudo Valley. It's already been embedded in a few posts, so If you want to listen just see an above reply. The song has a very epic and adventurous feel to it, I find it really appealing. It also makes me feel quite nostalgic at that.
  4. Haven't posted here in a while.

      Harmonic Revelations

      Well then, welcome back.

  5. Whoa, are you serious? This is amazing! I knew to begin with that the fandom was large, but now that I can see it's larger than FIVE MILLION, it's really hard to believe. The show has grown into much more than it was originally intended to be; a show about ponies, for young girls. It now holds an extremely large following, and I'm proud to say that I am part of it. Maybe we can double that number in a few years time!

    gaming Mabinogi anyone?

I used to play Mabinogi, back when the US version was still in Generation 2. Damn that game was fun, but it kind of got boring as they expanded. Also, any Internet friends I had at the time all of a sudden dissapeared, only one of them still plays last I checked. I was planning on getting back into it, but they forced me to do some stupid "double password" doohickey that wasn't there back when I started. Hard enough to remember one password, but now TWO? Ugh..
  7. Mint Jelly and Nutella Sandwich? YES! YES!

  8. I believe this is only partially true. For example, if you're flaming mad, and are about ready to scream at somebody, what would you say? "Go to Hell, you damned son of a b***h!" or "Go to Hell, you appalling nitwit!" Not sure that got my point across well, but what I'm trying to say is, fancy words aren't very good at expressing what you're trying to say in a lot of circumstances. And let's face it, foul words have much more of an impact on people, even though they most of the time mean exactly the opposite of what we think they do. If you think someone is rotten, and you want to tell them this, you'd do no damage if you used some fancy word you learned in English class as opposed to if you used a swear word - which would actually anger/hurt them. And going by what your wife said, and how you agree with her, I think that maybe you two judge people a little too harshly. A lot of kids grow up hearing their parents swear loads, so where do you think they learned it from? It's not their fault their legal guardians were a bad example. And I know plenty of people who swear on a regular basis and are also very knowledgeable and smart. Having said this, I don't really condone an excessive use of swears, but I don't think using them sometimes is bad at all.
  9. Everyone here is saying "the original" and I'm not sure if they mean the ORIGINAL, or the "original" that America got. The first Yu-Gi-Oh anime only aired in Japan, and Duel Monsters wasn't AS present. It focused more on puzzles in general, Yami Yugi would challenge people to said puzzles (instead of card games). After discovering this series and watching it, Im proud to say that it's most certainly my favorite. Most fans refer to it as "Season Zero". I definately suggest you all watch it, It's awesome.
  10. Geez Louise! This is amazing, I like the realistic style you drew it in too. Very, VERY impressive! I'd kill to have half of your talent.
  11. People usually think I'm some really quiet kid who has a bad sense of style. Really, I just hate them all and could care less about talking to them, and I wear cool sweaters. I like sweaters. Sweaters are cool.
  12. I don't draw ponies too often, so I decided to practice. Here is the result: Now if only I could get off my lazy butt and try animating. But no, instead I'm drawing ponies.
  13. Geez Louise, I love that anime. It's really unfortunate that it was never finished - they got to the final battle between Zatch and Zeno, but they never showed him becoming Mamoto king (or at least to my knowledge they didn't). It'd be pretty cool if a different animation company did a reboot of it, don't you agree? As long as it doesn't end up like NAS's reboot of YuGiOh. Toei did a better job with it in my opinion (and Kaiba had green hair. I mean seriously. Who doesn't like oddly colored hair?).
  14. You doing drugs? It looks great! I have no suggestions on this one, first time I've opened a fan-art thread and didn't see something that could be improved on.
  15. Pretty good looking, but there are a few things that I could see you improving on. Just small things, however: Also, I forgot to mention that the back legs should match the length of the front legs (although it looks like the pony depicted is standing at a slanted sort of stance, MLP is odd with perspective in that sort of way). And one more thing: Use references. I can't stress that enough. Nothing helps more when trying to improve on drawing in a certain style than using pictures drawn in said style to help you see what you are and aren't drawing correctly; you can then focus your attention more towards what you're struggling on the most.
  16. I'd highly suggest playing Clock Tower for the SNES. It's not available in English if you choose to play it in its original cartridge form - however, if you play it using an emulator, a group of fans have translated the Japanese ROM into English. I won't spoil the story for you, but basically, it's a 2D side-scrolling point and click adventure where you're trying to find out what happened to your friends and escape said mansion with said friends. But there's a catch - In each room (not hallway) there is a slight chance that Bobby, a maniac killer, will be hiding in them. He isn't always just out in the open; He could be hiding behind a curtain, in a box, etc. If fate has it that you run into Bobby, he'll chase you throughout the mansion until you find another room with something you can hide in/behind. If he catches you, you can knock him down and stun him by mashing either A or B (I forget) otherwise he'll kill you. His spawn points are usually random, but sometimes certain events can trigger him to appear. Tons of replay value is added to the game when you take in the fact that not only do some important (and a few non-important) rooms and items randomly arrange themselves each play through(items are preset to spawn in only a few different rooms to make it less confusing) but it also has tons of endings which make it more interesting. It's a great game and I'd certainly recommend it.
  17. When I first decided to watch MLP, I was doing so because I was convinced it'd be horrible and that I'd find it so bad I'd laugh. But when I watched the first episode, I had been reeled in. I needed to know what happened next, so I watched the second episode. By then I knew that it was much better than I had expected. So why am I telling you this? Because it is very likely that one or more of your friends will end up liking it in a very similar way. They'll give it a watch intending to mock it and then wind up in love. Is it possible that won't happen? Sure it is. But I have a feeling that if they are really your true friends, whether they like MLP or not, they'll put it behind them in the end. However; if they constantly tease you and continue to be asses about it, I think you need to find a new crowd of people to spend time with.
  18. I'd get tons of shit from people if I went to school doing stuff like that. But I kind of like being one of the few kids in my area who likes Zelda, Castlevania, Pokemon, 70's/80's media, etc and isn't a complete jackass because it makes me different (and trust me, I don't want to be anything like those other kids I have to deal with every day).
  19. This kind of makes me wonder (and it's a bit disgusting) but how would hardcore cloppers react? Hah, not quite sure I WANT to know. In all seriousness though, I can definately see a situation similar to racism occurring. It'd probably be worse though, if you also factor in how they are a different species completely and not just another race. We bronies would welcome them with loving arms though. And considering the slowly rising amount of bronies, we'd probably try to protect them in some way.
  20. The Legend of Zelda; it's really rad, those creatures from Ganon are pretty bad. Octoroks, Tektites, Leevers too! But with your help our hero pulls through. (Yeah, yeah Link, get Zelda!). Really though. It's fuckin' rad.
  21. I don't see a difference in Derpy besides the outline - if a crappy pony sprite had a colored outline, that wouldn't really make it show-accurate.
  22. They have to resemble the shows style in some way, while not looking crappy. Doesn't have to be exact, it can be a variant of the style, just so long as it looks at least slightly appealing and doesn't rape my eyes.
  23. Wait; 3DS Max for free? What is this sorcery?! I'll have to look into it. As for PM'ing you the screen-caps, I've actually already posted most if not all of them a few posts above. I know it isn't much, but it's all I've got on my computer at the moment.
  24. As stated earlier, I only have a couple things to show, since I A.Haven't been modeling much lately and B.Because I just got my hard drive wiped and thus all my old work is gone. Here is what I do have, though (that's in a presentable state): [Not Textured] Master Sword (Zelda: A Link to the Past ver.) Hylian Shield (Zelda: Ocarina of Time ver.) [Not Textured] Half-assed Mega Man (along side the concept art I drew):
  25. Oh, hey SweBow! Didn't expect to see you around here. Do you want me to PM you screen-caps of some of my models? Unfortunately I just recently wiped my hard drive and only have a few that I could show you. And to answer your question, I use and older version of Blender (I learned it before the layout change in 2.5, I thought it was confusing and decided not to update). I'd love to learn Maya or 3D Studio Max at some point, but I'm only 14 and thus don't have boatloads of money to spend, heh.
