Granted, but now Friendship is Magic has been recreated to feature those creepy baby ponies. I wish more people would actually give Littlest Pet Shop a chance.

Banned for making me think that that was a Spongebob reference.

movies/tv Littlest Pet Shop on The Hub: November 10, 2012
Rarietty replied to Senn555's topic in Media Discussion
Part bump, part wanting to display my thoughts on the past two episodes. Gailbreak: Okay, so this is the only episode so that made me think, "Wow, this show may actually give MLP a run for it's money." The plot, although cliched (aren't all of the episodes for this show just massive cliches?) is an excellent setup for action and humor, and allows the characters to show off and develop. Who really shined in this episode though was Sunil, who is now best pet in my opinion. The music-including an extremely catchy earworm that will be compared to Babs Seed without a doubt-is excellent, and it showcased some of the most awesome background music I've may have ever heard in a kids cartoon during the scene when Sunil was fighting the "cobras". Also, some of the animation showcased here, as well as the references they made were really well done. So, yeah, this episode was truly by far my favorite. Good job M.A. Larson. Penny for your Laughs: Isn't it funny how this episode aired on the same day as Magic Duel? Because now humanized Trixie as a basketball player is totally now my headcannon. Aside from that, this episode....wasn't very good. Okay, so this episode has two subplots, one centering around the pets and one centering around Blythe's typical teen subplot. I wouldn't mind this if these subplots were actually good, but sadly, they did indeed disappoint. I don't really care about Blythe as a character. All I see her as is an author avatar being used as a way to get the pets to talk/a typical teen character that girls could relate to. Therefore, I care about her less than the pets. Now, about the pets, this episode (aside from the Blythe/Biskit subplot) was about Pepper accidentally upsetting Penny due to her use of insult humor, and then having to make it up to her. Yes, it is indeed as predictable as it sounds, but what really annoyed me was the jokes themselves. They weren't funny, and just plain bad insults. The "joke" that Pepper told to Penny that got her upset was hardly even an insult. Seriously, Fluttershy is like a tank compared to Penny's emotional imbalance. Now about Blythe, the moral of her subplot really, REALLY annoyed me. We don't know why Blythe's friends hate the Biskit twins so much, nor if the Biskit twins are mean to everybody aside from Blythe. They're just snobs who are mean to Blythe, but recall back to the first episode. The first time the Biskits met Blythe they asked her if she wanted to hang out. They just wanted to be friends with her, but Blythe said no due to their snobbish attitude. The reason they're so mean to Blythe was because she rejected them and they're used to being given everything. Blythe's friends were being hypocritical and rude when Blythe started hanging out with the Biskits, but WHY? Are the Biskits mean to everyone? I mean, I get it if maybe they showed the Biskits as mean to everyone-like seriously everyone. Humanized Trixie the tall basketball player doesn't count. The Biskits seemed accepting of Blythe when they first met her. I think they have social problems, and they have no clue how to make or have friends so they "buy" them. I don't know about anyone else, but Blythe and her friends seemed more like the bullies in this episode rather than the Biskit twins. It's like Mysterious Mare Do Well all over again. This could have been a much better episode if it was handled like Griffon the Brush Off, if Blythe's friends hadn't given her the cold shoulder and at least tried to accept the Biskits. At the end, Blythe would still realize that her friends are her "true friends". Finally, the two songs in this episode weren't very good either. The Biskit twins one was better, and had some good remix material, but was very "meh" overall. i strongly disliked the song that Pepper sang, and thought that the scene would have been handled better in a montage. It just was a very forced song, and Pepper's/Tabitha's voice just didn't suit it. You know what's funny? This show has already spawned it's own version of Equestria Daily-The Pet Shop Insider- in only a few episodes. Like it or not, this show is going to be big, it just needs more time to improve itself.... and better plots...and Biskit twins as less unintentionally sympathetic characters.- 84 replies

This PMV is masterfully made...and is not from an anime. (Curse you Equestria Daily for not doing your research!) As I was saying, this video is not from an anime, it's a ponification of a Vocaloid song (which I totally didn't know when I found the video. You'd think that the voices would give it away, but alas, Vocaloid voices sound relatively more human than computer.) This PMV is also unique as it tells a story, like a lot of Vocaloid songs/videos do. Seriously, this video and the song is so awesome that because of it I've become addicted to browsing Vocaloid videos.

Banned because You're Fabulous and You Are the Music in Me, but you can Bet on It that I've Gotta Go my Own Way. Maybe we can Work This Out, because All for One and one for all, you know what I'm saying?

movies/tv What old cartoons would you like to see return?
Rarietty replied to Skullbuster's topic in Media Discussion
I know that the Hub is airing this again, but ANIMANIACS. Not only was the show enjoyable for all ages and demographics, but it was also hilarious, witty and educational. Seriously, a reboot of that show would probably attract the largest online fanbase for show targeted at children EVER I bet. There's an endless number of episode ideas too as there's so much that that show could parody and make fun of today. -
A lot of people seem to be under the impression Applejack is just boring, and although I disagree, she's not really getting any crucial development that makes people truly like her. She used to be tied for my favorite (with Fluttershy and Rarity) before season 2, but after realizing that all of the other ponies were getting more development than her and that she wasn't changing while everypony else just seemed to get more and more interesting made her slowly drift down my favorite pony list. She's had 4 episodes so far that were actually focused on her character, and 1 of them she had to share with Rarity, 1 she already learned the lesson and another she was overshadowed by the rest of the mane 6 and Derpy. I think this has to do with writing. Seriously, Applejack has no goals, no major character ticks or flaws to play off of (aside from the whole honesty thing, but all of the mane 6, with the exception of possibly Twilight, are poked fun at because of their elements, such as Fluttershy not being kind or Rarity not being generous) or anything. She's happy where she is, and therefore it's harder to think up episodes for a character that's already nicely developed than one that still has a lot way to go, like Twilight or Rainbow. TL;DR: She used to be tied for favorite pony before season 2 came out. It's not so much that she's gotten worse, it's just that she hasn't gotten any better, and doesn't have much as much potential for jokes or character development compared to the rest of the mane 6.

Banned because I don't see no horn on that "alicorn" oc. And Meta Knight is best Smash Bros Brawl character.

^THIS song. And this musician in general...even though he's only made 2 original songs and 1 cover. Just goes to show how much time and care he puts into his music. Aside from that, what are you into? I really can't recommend you anything if I don't know what genre you'd like to listen to. Mandopony is a good bet, mostly because he makes a lot of music in different genres. The first Brony song I listened to when I joined the fandom was "A Long Way from Equestria", and I have no regrets. Acousticbrony, Bronyfied or Aviators is good if you're looking for rock, while General Mumble, Wooden Toaster, Odyssey EuroBeat and StormWolf are my personal favorites for electronic music. I'm not much of a dubstep or rap person.

Nope. Good ol'Canada for me...eh. And I love hockey, poutine and maple syrup. We're etremely glad you took Justin Bieber. TPAM "embraces" their country's stereotypes.
-
No way. You're a lovable party animal. TPAM has a favorite color.

I like Trixie so much more because of this episode. I particularly love when she apologized to Twilight then started bragging about how humble she was. How THERE'S the Trixie I'm sure many of you (just not me) loved in season 1. I liked how Trixie as a character was outright said to not be mean and nasty, but rather full of herself, and NOT considered a villain. Thank god, because Trixie didn't really do anything that would make her considered an antagonist in Boast Busters, she just bragged a lot and accidentally got Ponyville in danger. All-in-all, this episode did Trixie so much justice.

No, I'm not a woodchuck. Woodchucks can't chuck much wood anyway. TPAM thinks that Magic Duel is one of the best MLP episodes.

As soon as I saw Twilight turn AJ into a stallion I went, "I can't wait until the fanfics*sarcasm*." And then it turned out to be fake and then I went "THANK GOD." Aside from that, this episode is going to be the most fanfic-spawning episode. EVER. This has to be a contender for my new favorite episode. Although I couldn't fully appreciate it's awesomeness due to the lagginess of the stream I was watching, the visuals were amazing, the gags were very funny, it was heartwarming at times and it seriously felt like a 22 minute movie. I didn't like Trixie much before, but this episode completely changed my thoughts about her in a good way. Also, was this episode the first episode they refer to winged unicorns as alicorns?

My Little Pony Comic (Spoiler)
Rarietty replied to pinkiefan1287's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
About whether if it's canon or not, Andy Price, the main artist for the comic posted this on his Deviantart page way back in July: http://andypriceart.deviantart.com/journal/a-Tremendous-THANK-YOU-314611847 Considering how much the comic follows the tone of the show, I would personally call it canon, but if you don't want to accept it as canon feel free to separate the comic and the show. Besides, it's probably the closest thing to canon we have besides the show itself, as it's official and affiliated with Hasbro and the show's crew, rather than with fanfiction it's not. -
^ Nope. I can't draw any character off by heart. I just flat out suck at drawing, particularly animals. > I can vector though, and I attempted to trace a picture of Twilight to make an OC. Needless to say- v has an OC.

I think he would probably be considered more of an adult. As dragons and ponies age very differently, and he hatched when Twilight was a filly, he'd probably be the pony equivalent of a teenager. That makes me wonder, if Spike was always a pony, would that make Twilight's school entrance exam helping Spike's mother give birth? As for if the Mane 6 would change him any differently, I think that Twilight would consider him less of a letter-writing assistant and more of a brotherly room mate. His relationship with Rarity would also probably be way farther than it is now, assuming he would be considered an adult by her and you know...they're both the same species now. Spike changing into a pony for an episode (whether intentionally or not) is actually an episode I want to see really badly.

^ Kind of...I took the gif from someone's Imgur album (which was full of free pony avatars), but manually added the sparkles myself (which also caused the gif to slow down...a lot. I don't care. I think it adds to the effect.) > My signature was just me taking a screenshot of a page of the official MLP comic, cropping the panel I wanted and editing it so that it had a pink tinge rather than the greenish tinge it had before, as well as adding a rain effect (that's really hard to see anyway...) v It's snowing outside where they live.

My Little Pony Comic (Spoiler)
Rarietty replied to pinkiefan1287's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
It's really short. I don't normally read comics, but I was able to speed through it in 15 minutes. I guess 22 pages=22 minute episode, but since I read quickly I felt kind of disappointed that there wasn't more. Other than that, it was hilarious and the artwork was amazing (and provided an awesome looking signature). I loved Katie Cook's writing and she writes so well in the character's voices. The story is nice, and I loved Chrysalis trying to deal with the CMCs among the other moments you've listed. -
The last game I played was the SIms 3, so probably play all of the games I want but only be able to play them once. There's no way I'd be entertained if the Sims would be the only video game I'd play. WYR be in a car accident that kills only you or be responsible for a car accident where you live but your five closest friends and family members die?

Granted, but it's full of zombies who just keep on spawning and you can't exit. I wish for true love.
