Silly Things You Believe In Or Thought About
Kelvocity replied to Feather Gem's topic in General Discussion
I've often wondered of perception of reality. Incoming philosophical-style stuff and words that nobody (including me) will probably understand because I can't think of a way to word it. I've noticed that this reality could be real, or it could be nothing. I've noticed that if you think about it, can you explain sight, what it is, what you're seeing, how you're seeing it? Can you explain color? Could one person see a brown that in there eyes and mind is brown, but in another person eye's an mind appears in a more pink color (according to the first person's perception), but considering their raising they recognize the color as brown anyway? We could all be seeing the world differently and not even know it because we've associated our view of the world with the common vocal views of the general population. Can you explain touch? The sensation you get when you touch something, or the feeling you "feel" when pain is inflicted. Do you understand this? Yes, because it is your common understanding. But can you explain it? Yes. Try harder. Harder. What is everything? Can you explain what you feel, what you hear, how you hear, how you feel? The answer with normally be yes. But when you think about it, you can't explain reality. Why everything exists, and why it exists the way it does. Why do we view stuff three dimensionally? Why is reality how it is? You can't explain that. You never can. That's what philosophy is about. Wondering, but not explaining. There is no true answer. There never will be. But we, whatever and however we are, will always be fascinated in trying to explain so. Also, what is this thread about, exactly, anyways? Am I on topic at all? -
I ban you because what?

Nope, don't have Netflix. And wait. They don't have it on instant streaming? Seems like the kinda thing Netflix would have. ...I want Netflix.

A week or so ago (probably more) my local comic book store didn't have the standard variant in stock because it was out of print. I'm not sure if it's back into print yet or not (I assumed it wouldn't start printing again until after the holiday season), so I'm just wondering if anyone knows when it starts printing again?

I'm thinking that I wish The Hub was in the standard cable package. Also I can't find any good Animaniacs episodes on the internet. I never watched the series before. I only found one episode on YouTube.

Favorite Episode of Season 3 so far?
Kelvocity replied to ~Vallo~'s topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion

I oughta go to a livestream once and awhile. Maybe next week, if I have the time? Anyways, that was actually a pretty good episode. Maybe not the best of Season 3, about as good as the Pinkie Pie one., At least it wasn't as bad as the Bad Apple one. Sorry, didn't like that one much. I can't decide if I liked the song or not.

What are you getting for christmas? (Or Hannukah, etc.)
Kelvocity replied to Lifehax's topic in General Discussion
A yoyo. but seriously, that's all I'm getting. I was also going to get marbles, but I didn't want marbles. I might lose my marbles if I get marbles. So yeah, pretty much nothing. -
While the idea is really tempting... ...I'm not gonna say that the idea of living a perfect life with no flaws is the wrong way to do life. I'm gonna say that the idea of being completely come off from reality and thinking I was living a real life when I wasn't kind of creeps me out. And it can also be a bit philosophical: you could be in come kind of simulator right now and not even know it. I'd expand on that thought, but I'm really too tired and should go to bed.

movies/tv Favorite Children's Show? (other than MLP:FiM)
Kelvocity replied to Cherry Blossom's topic in Media Discussion
Avatar: The Last Airbender. Loved that show when I was younger, love it even more now. I've recently been rewatching it and I highly recommend it. It's actually my #1 TV show. It ranks above MLP for me. And other shows? Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, oh, I used to love The Powerpuff Girls and My Life as a Teenage Robot. Oh yeah, and I liked Clifford too. Oh, Rugrats, and I barely remember The Wild Thornberries, but I think I liked that, too. But while I was young, I was always more into the kiddie shows (Dora, PB & J Otter, Max & Ruby, Rolie Polie Olie, etc.), it was awhile before I got into some more normal kids shows, but Avatar was always an awesome one. I've been meaning to watch Animaniacs, I've heard a lot of good things about it. EDIT: Oh yeah, Tom & Jerry, and The Magic School Bus. -
Never met any kids that don't like it. I was actually watching TV with a few little kids (like 3 or 4 actually) and they asked me to turn in MLP when I passed it in the TV guide. I happily did (and was oh so disappointed when the episode that was on was The Mysterious Mare Do Well). Although that little girl is kinda messed up for pulling the head off a pony...

What do you call the target audience for MLP?
Kelvocity replied to AustralianFries's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
There isn't a name. I would've just asked the same thing she asked you. "You're a fan of the show?" or something along the lines of that. Because that's just what she is, a fan, she likes the show, and she's within the normally sorta intended target audience. The target audience isn't obscure enough to have their own official name! Yeah... just kidding. -
Oh, I love these kinds of threads! You might be a brony if, at a fundraising event at a church or something, you see a horse-riding stand, and no matter what, you can't stop thinking about ponies... ...And you know you might be too much of a brony when you want to try and free those ponies and bring them back to Equestria where they belong... that might be a bit too far.
-
But, they're all my favorite ponies... ...If I was locked in a room with all the ponies, wouldn't that have to be as big as Equestria? Wouldn't it just be Equestria then? With big metal walls around it for no apparent reason? You know, Discord-style? ...Okay, let's narrow it down to Fluttershy. If I was locked in a room with Fluttershy, she'd probably be scared of where she is and scared of me, so I'd have to talk to her, get to know her, and comfort her. Then, she'd probably reluctantly follow my plans to escape fro that locked room and become free again! ...After that, I'd ask her how she got her, or she'd ask me how I got there. Depending on what dimension we're in, ours' or the ponies'.

To be honest, I barely do anything for Thanksgiving. Well, I barely do anything for many of the holidays (except I try to do stuff for Halloween), mainly because, well, my family just doesn't have the time. I was gonna go to a friend's house today to do something Thanksgivingy, but we might not make it over there today. The only thanksgiving foods I like are stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. I hate Turkey. HATE IT. So, at least I've got stuffing and pumpkin pie. It doesn't look like I've got any potatoes... that's fine though, I have those at other times than Thanksgiving.

gaming Happy Birthday to Shigeru Miyamoto, The Father of Gaming
Kelvocity replied to Bright Honor's topic in Media Discussion
Don't know who he is 'cause I've never been to into Nintendo, and when you said father of gaming, I immediately thought "the guy who made Pong?" Either way, it seems this guy's behind some pretty famous and classic games, so, I suppose that's good. Happy birthday to him! -
Should Rainbow Dash have a boyfriend?
Kelvocity replied to Dashicorn's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
No. ...The character reply limit begs me for a more detailed answer. It shall have it. This is a show about FRIENDSHIP, not RELATIONSHIP. If any of the Mane 6 gets a boyfriend, unless they were already introduced as a side character or something and are a REALLY good character, I'll probably puke on the inside. Heck, I probably would either way, but it would be more tolerable if it was done right. And, as covered above, if anyone got into a relationship, it would be Rarity, since she seems to be most interested in that. Although, if Rarity got into a relationship with some stallion, would that crush little Spikey-Wikey's heart? ...Don't you mean coltfriend? -
The Mane 6? ...But wudda bout Santa Hooves? ...What do you mean Santa Hooves doesn't exist?! WHY WOULD YOU TELL THAT TO A FOAL?! Though seriously I don't believe in Santa Claus and I'd like you to draw more Christmas ponies because you drew Dashie well.

Why does everything appear to be designed
Kelvocity replied to Harmonic Revelations's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Because we're humans, not ponies. This show was originally kinda made for kids, and it might be too complicated with gadgets made for ponies. ...And maybe they just didn't have time to reinvent every gadget and gizmo and technological creation they needed to use in the show just for use by pony? Maybe that's the answer? Although, in reality, the thought either didn't occur to them, or was too time-consuming. -
That was definitely an exceedingly entertaining and insanely paced episode. I liked it. Apart from the tons of Pinkie Pie clones and all their craziness, there were also several cool smaller moments in the show. Twilight, trying to turn apples into oranges. And then turning a bird and a frog into oranges because if Pinkie. Rainbow Dash reading, and her and Pinkie actin' like bros. And, the secret compartment Spike found in the library that contained the book was definitely intriguing. I felt like, that part, it may have been foreshadowing something... just like the book at the end of episode two... ...Also, MORE EVERFREE FOREST! YAY! THE CLONING LAKE WAS AWESOME!

No more Twinkies or Wonder Bread ;_;
Kelvocity replied to Lady Rarity Pony's topic in General Discussion
While I find no difference in one company's unhealthy junk food to another company's unhealthy junk food, still, it's unfortunate to see the company go out of business after going for so long. Mostly because of all the people that will lose jobs, but also because it's an old company and some people really like it. But they're selling off some of their products and there will of course always be imitators, so the population won't really be completely out of Hostess' products. Still, this doesn't affect me much, but it is interesting. -
Finished this artwork of Fluttershy in a dress (after a week)
Kelvocity replied to Pix3M's topic in Visual Fan Art
I must say, this is very impressive, especially for a work done pixel-by-pixel. I can imagine drawing ponies normally, let alone doing that. The only criticism off the top of my head is that is could be bigger. But i suppose that would've taken longer. -
No, not really. Frankly, Discord's two-parter was the only one I actually liked, featuring both villain and character equally. Nightmare Moon mostly evil laughed, talked, and threatened, while the ponies were a bit more featured. Chrysalis was a pretty cool villain, but her episode didn't focus on all of the ponies enough, just Twilight, and it lacked consistency in Shining Armor and Cadance appearing out of nowhere. This episode almost featured the villain as a background character, while our mane ponies took the spotlight. In conclusion, Sombra was a background villain. His premise was promising, but he was just played out poorly. At least he was animated well.
