general media Who is your favourite anti-hero?

What is an anti-hero? A main character or protagonist that does evil actions or lacks the idealistic qualities that you would expect from a hero. (e.g Scarface, Alex Delarge etc) I actually prefer anti-heroes over heroes, I think their characteristics are more interesting. My favourite is Walter White aka Heisenberg from the TV series Breaking Bad. What about you?

Does every single Supernatural character count, in particular Dean, Sam, Castiel and Gabriel?

If you want me to choose just one, Homura Akemi takes the cake. She turns into the devil just so she can make her best friend happy, erases almost everybody's memory so they forget a shit ton of their life, and pretty much forces them to live in a happy environment, while they all have a fabricated past. But hey, everybody is happy. Except for Kyubey, but he manipulated every character on the show to sell their soul, so he had it coming to him.

And also, she's adorable.

Have the courage to think and act on your own. And have the courage to disobey.

Walter White is a great pick.  I'm warming up to Sandor Clegane.  You just know there's a softer, kinder side to him hidden under all that scar tissue and emotional trauma.

I friggin' love that movie, but does Montoya really count as an anti-hero?

I think so in contrast with Wesley. Inigo's motivation is revenge in contrast with Wesley's motivation of love. He ends up killing the six fingered man while Wesley spares Prince Humperdink's life despite everything the prince put him through. I don't know, it all comes down to interpretation I suppose.

In no particular order:

Shadow The Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog)

Bass (Megaman)

Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z)

Godzilla (Godzilla)

Sgt. Keroro (Sgt. Frog)

Spawn (well....Spawn)

Kratos (God of War)

Scorpion (Mortal Kombat)

Anti-Venom (Spiderman), I'm pretty sure he's an anti-hero.

Prince Zuko! I mean... he's kind of an anti-hero.

Also I can't believe there's been no love for Snape yet on here.

The Man with No Name, portrayed by Clint Eastwood, he was the anti hero of the wild west, typically a passer by he went by different nicknames, like Joe, Manco and Blondy, throughout the Dollars trilogy, or the Spaghetti westerns that sprang up in the sixties, plus he was quick on the draw, quicker than any gun that opposed him. The Man was also witty, taking advantage of many sides in fight, looking for an edge in order to make money, or to just survive, but if you crossed him, the Man would take justice into his own hands, so be sure to have some coffins ready, and don't insult his mule.

Oh, and the poor girl feels so guilty and conflicted about it, too. She's been through a lot. :( I think she's a lot more of an anti-villain than an anti-hero, though. Smiles creepily and uses threats, typical villain stuff—but then we get to the part where Homura gives everyone a happy life and feels horrible about what she did. She even gives back Madoka's ribbons, which were her only things to remember her by.

Aside from the obvious best character, my other favorite anti-heroes are Snape from Harry Potter, Shadow the Hedgehog, Princess Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the Elite Four from Kill la Kill. Anti-heroes/villains typically have a complicated past that causes them to become what they are, and they're usually more interesting to me than most heroes.

I'm gonna go with Miles Edgeworth. But to be honest, I could've picked the prosecutor from almost any Ace Attorney game. Even though they're like your "enemy" throughout the game, they're usually amazing and sympathetic characters who you end up loving by the end of the game.

Another of my favorite anti-heroes is Nico di Angelo from the Percy Jackson series. The last book especially added a lot of depth to his character.
