I used to have a "rainbow dash" (pony names out of context)

A few days ago I was driving with my cousin and were were talking about something to do with cars. Then he said, "hey, remember when you had that rainbow dash?"

I almost started laughing because I never thought I would hear those two words together anywhere other than in a conversation with something to do with MLP.

Now about this "rainbow dash" he was talking about. Back when I had my first car, one of the bulbs in the gauge cluster burned out. When I had it out I was surprised that it used very common sized automotive bulbs. This gave me the bright idea to put color changing LED bulbs in place of all of them.

All I can say is that "20% cooler" is an understatement in this case. It was fricken awesome and one of the trippiest things ever!!! :muffins:  The needles would all change color while the numbers were also changing color, all independently of each other. Everyone LOVED it. I don't have any pics or video because I sold the car not too long after because I found a better car for a deal I couldn't pass up. I also didn't even think too at the time.

Funny thing is my cousin has the same type of car- a couple years newer than mine was. I saved the bulbs before I sold mine and I think I'll put them in his car. I'll put pictures if I do!

Have any of you guys heard any pony names out of context anywhere before? I'm betting this is going to be a hard question since a lot of the names are pretty hokey, LOL!

Rainbow Rocks... at least how it could've looked... in a stranger, more interesting dimension

For those who are wondering, Twilight is chewing bubble gum.

That is awesome.  I hear Rarity all the time, but that's just because it's a normal word.  I tend to use it almost every day in normal speech.  Always have, but it just has a different conotation now.  Same with Twilight, but I don't hear that one as much, except for the Twilight Saga.  *shudders*.

Well, frankly, we don't need to dredge up any other traumatic memories of an other sort of "Twilight sparkle."

Though, what I do have to say wins out in terms of other-context pony names is Applejack. I'm sure most of you also happen to know about the cereal and the fanficky connotations that can be had with you "Eating Applejacks!" But little do most know, that Applejack is also a name for a sort of moonshine. I don't know whether it actually is made from apples, and while there likely are a rare few alchoholic products out there that you can buy, applejack does seem to be known for being a cheap and simple, easy drink. This has sort of led to my headcannon that AJ is a pretty heavy drinker. It's not a problem yet, but hey, you do back-breaking labor all day and you need some way to unwind and the show has made a point of showing her that our farmmare ain't too up to date on how most ponies relax anyhow!

As for personal stories in this vein: Like the poster above me, Rarity is a pretty common word. But one game I play sorts the rarity of the cards you play with by virtue of the pretty little gem in the center. I feel Rarity herself would approve wholly of categorizing things by studding them with gems! Well, if it weren't for one little factoid that chirps up every now and again when the tips pop up onscreen.

  White is Common.

I just have this mental image of Rarity reading that last little bit, and going all twitchy-eyed in frustration! :unamused: "Oh...OH, my coat colour is too COMMON for you, hmm?"

Beatings & Salivations Everybeing!   Creativity is something blatantly important to me as is no doubt evidenced by the 28 OCs I have posted here of the some forty plus I have, they're linked altogether at the bottom of my About Me page in my Profile & I would deeply cherish anything you wish to say about them! Among which of those I am proudest most of is my Draconequusona, His/My Ask Thread  and my Hydra, Gallimaufry or "Mauf" and their own Ask Thread!  Either way, sufficed to say, I am quite confident I have more OCs than you! Crazier to! Do You have a tatzelpony?! No, I rather think you don't! Hew-Hew-hew!
