Yea so I went to the record store today, again. I bought Lateralus, turns out they did have Tool after all. I feel so dumb now.

Sadly they had no Eyehategod, well they did but it was a used CD and I'm not that big of a fan of used CDs (It was an EP). They had Isis and Acid Bath but no Eyehategod

Actually used CDs aren't as bad as you think they are, I agree that it's not the best way though honestly they don't sell used CDs that have scratches on them at all. You should of bought an ISIS album since they aren't the easiest to find in retail stores, which album was it? Because if it was Oceanic then I hope that it'll still be there for you.

I didn't see Oceanic but they had a bunch. They also had one copy of When the Kite String Pops and Paegon Terrorism Tactics, both new and sealed. I kind of feel bad for not buying them but I only had money for one CD. Lucky for me I got the last copy of Lateralus that they had left. They also had one copy of Aenima, two copies of Undertow and two copies of Opiate.

Don't get In the Absence of Truth, within the exception of Holy Tears most of the songs from that album were only decent and half decent. Get Oceanic or Wavering Radiant instead those are better albums.

Most likely your store is only gonna have Book Burner and/or Phantom Limb. I have doubts that you'd find Prowler In The Yard or Terrifyer. Also you'll find Converge eventually, most stores do have Converge CDs hiding some place.

I kinda regret not buying When the Kite String Pops. I even had it my hand. But yea you're right I doubt I'll ever find Prowler in the Yard like that. I even checked the used section for Converge, didn't find anything. Same with Opeth...

Depends on what we're talking about mang.  I've got some CD's I definitely wouldn't want to lose.  Solace only had 500 physical copies of their tunes, I've got an Adriell mini-CD ep from 2003 (ex Dead To Fall, ex 7A7P), the Veil of Maya three song demo, and a fuckload of bands that only released one or two demos/cd's and didn't make vinyl.

Today I decided to listen to a band that I was excited for back in late 2012, but completely forgot about. Sidious is a 5-piece symphonic blackened death metal group, and fuck am I impressed. Their debut "Ascension To The Throne Ov Self" dropped in May, but I just got around to finding it now. 20 minutes of brutality and beauty combined in one, where the symphonic pieces and the metal pieces really blend in a way that I haven't really heard much of. Usually, one aspect overpowers the other.  Within the less than 20 minutes provided, this band really showcased their talent as songwriters, lyricists, technical ability, playing style, and symphonic composers. I'll definitely be looking out for these guys in the future.

Well, been listening to Shai Hulud recently. Are there any other bands similar to them, because they are one of the best ones I've heard so far

 

Misery Signals and Between The Buried And Me are bands that you'd enjoy if you like Shai Hulud a lot.
