mega thread Metal Thread

Crispy

Well, it's sort of understandable.

Consider this.  I used to like Hanson.  I was in fourth grade.

Would it be safe to say I've moved past that interest? biggrin.png

Well, shit, I even still enjoy some of the stuff I enjoyed as a kid. I used to listen to the fuck out of the Digimon Movie soundtrack, and still to this day, I really enjoy some of the songs. I also still even enjoy a few NSYNC and Backstreet Boys songs.

Frankly, I don't get how anyone could really enjoy something and then all of a sudden decide they hate it.

I said that it seems like most people in here don't listen to the bands they used to listen to anymore, like their tastes changed and now they hate what they used to like. And I was saying that I still love the bands that I used to love several years ago.

Well, it's just that I grew out of what I liked when I was 10. I left pop-punk because I discovered grunge and realized that grunge is MUCH better.

Anyways, this song I will forever treasure. It was one of the songs that turned me onto metal. If it wwren't for this song I would not be where I am today. And it's still a badass song.

I used to like 50 Cent when I was like 5 or 6. -.-

Opinions.  I've rediscovered pop-punk and I'm fucking loving it.

This one punches me in the heart, especially mentioning my age.

I honestly listen to this one every weeknight, as it helps me through my workday.

Well good for you, unless you count Milo Goes to College as pop-punk, I haven't listened to any pop-punk in like... forever.

With Dead on vocals <3 This album is awesome,

MayheM                  <------------- I figured that out a while back lol.

I haven't heard a whole lot of pop-punk but that was pretty damn good. I really would like to get into more punk type stuff, but I just haven't really been exposed to it much except for a few songs I heard in tony hawk pro skater games or something.

If anyone knows anything similar to this song, please tell me, because I fucking love this:

This is like proto-pop-punk mixed with a bit of hardcore. Check it out mang.

And I'm going to post more Mayhem because I can.

This shit is brutal.

There's definitely a difference.  Pop punk doesn't mean Popular Punk.  Suicidal Tendencies isn't Pop punk.

I love The Descendants.  But they aren't pop-punk and you know it.  I bet you give The Wonder Years half a listen and you'd enjoy them.

I know Suicidal Tendencies isn't pop-punk...

I fucking love that song by the way. One of my favorite songs ever.

But anyway, what I meant was that I would like to get into more punk in general, whether it be pop-punk or some other kind of punk.

Well,  young man.  That would depend on where you're looking!

Even the modern hardcore scene is full of punk.

@Crispy,

Hey Crispy can you give me some metal recomendations? I need some new stuff to listen to, I'm in a bit of a drought. I'm pretty sure you're familiar with what I like.

Yea so I'm going to post some metal now, since this a metal thread.

I just use the wonderful "Similar Artists" option on Spotify or Last.fm which can usually lead me to finding something good.

Deathcore wake up call.

Just found these guys this morning, actually.

Opinions.  I've rediscovered pop-punk and I'm fucking loving it.

I fucking love you for liking these guys. So would Djenty :3

I'm not Crispy though I think you should check out GAZA, they're a band that I've recently been listening to, and I'm sure that their anti-Christian lyrics wouldn't be a turn off for you.

Repping some Vildy before bedtime. You can't get much better than this, can you? Ambidjent at it's finest.

do you even

(btw where did the full album video for this go)

Gotta say it again, best "djent" band ever. "Februus" is my favorite album of 2011 and this decade so far, and that still hasn't changed.

Tastes change and evolve over the years, not to mention not being exposed to certain things that you'll love later on. I used to be into death metal too, but I grew out of that over the years, the same with hardcore too really. Machine Head is one of the bands that has been a constant favorite of mine throughout the years.

Well as Jin said above people's tastes in music change, and not only that some tend to go deeper into their favorite genres, and end up not liking the stuff that they used to, I've done that with quite a few genres that I listen to.

Well I guess the only way my tastes have really changed is I listen to stuff now that I probably wouldn't have listened to when I was younger. Like stuff that's heavier like BTBAM and Periphery. Although honestly, the only reason I know about those bands is because of this thread lol

That's a nice JD shirt, too bad a lot of people who don't even listen to them wear their shirts. I actually don't have any band shirts.
