This my kind of Metal. I don't really know if it would really be considered Heavy Metal, but it sounds like it to me.

No Mercy is the way of the fist! Five Finger Death Punch for ever!!

@@Twiliscael likes a shit ton of FFDP. Anyway, they've got a bit of heavy metal to them. Closer to metalcore and groove metal though.

Speaking of FFDP, it's been way too long since I've heard one of those G Major editions. BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL.

I've got some of you on it, but the rest of you need to jump on some Lionheart and feel the hate.

Also, I heard if you say "The Wonder Years" three times while spinning in your computer chair, Djenty feels it and posts in the thread.

I love music that is purely made with hate in mind. It's fairly cathartic to listen to it, it just vents those feelings of frustration. This is a favorite of mine:

so yeah here is a new band I just discovered. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euyvV5v_ck0 not quite sure how to upload the video like you guys did any tips? well anyways I was just looking around and found this band "Texas Hippie Coalition"

[ f l a s h ] youtube url [ / f l a s h ]

Without spaces and with a Youtube URL inserted in there will show the video. The forums are supposed to do it automatically but they've been doing that less lately, plus I use a plaintext editor so it might not parse the urls so I have to do it manually.

As for that band, I may have heard of them. I like the song in general but dem vocals.

It also works if he drops the s in the url.  The forums no likie secure servers for some reason.

Pretty sure I haven't posted King Conquer yet.  They've got some newer stuff out.

Which one is their sophomore album? I'm trying to get myself to like them, but I can't for some reason.

I misread this at first, and I thought you said they're overaggressive Mexicans...

Dude, that's pretty cool. Liking those pick rakes sometime near the beginning.

Also, more hate metal if that's what we're posting.

Man I love this thread, haven't made a post here for a while, but I have a winner for sure. So what do you get when you cross metal and jazz influenced saxophone? A crazy band called Shining.

I'm in the thrash metal mood again. At the moment, I'm kicking it with some Exumer. It's a shame these guys didn't last very long, they had plenty of potential.

LMAO xD

Props to the first Boris album I've listened to for being the first album to catch me genuinely off guard in a very long time.

Drone, sludge, doom, stoner, et cetera, all in one.

Okay, so, I have absolutely fallen in love with the part of this song at 5:13. Every time I listen to it, I just have like the greatest eargasm ever. Like...it's indescribable...

Okay that's it, this officially my new favorite thrash metal album. It's so short yet so addicting, I listened to it three times today in it entirety.

Not stoner, but Cult of Luna's got some pretty cool sludge/post-metal going on. Vertikal was a good album, but for a less post-ish and more sludge-ish album, I'd recommend Somewhere Along the Highway. Like Bongzilla though, Weedeater's stoner/sludge.

And that first video, holy shit. I could have sworn I knew something like it, but while I was searching, I found this instead. Also nice. Varg would be proud.

I think I posted some Gyre on here, but it was probably just their Bandcamp.  Monolithic has a teaser up for their EP and I'm pretty stoked on it.

Hi. I was wondering if anyone could give me suggestions for new bands I could try out, based on my musical preferences.

The metal genres I like the most are melodic death metal (primarily melodic/folk death metal, such as Ensiferum, Finntroll, and Eluveitie), technical death metal (bands like Obscura), symphonic metal (bands like Nightwish, Delain, and Leaves' Eyes), and power metal (bands like DragonForce, Blind Guardian, and Stratovarius).

So, based on that, what are some other bands I should try out? I don't want to listen to anything that's satanic (including people who think pretending to be satanic makes them cool), gory, or depressing. I don't like metal that involves that kind of content.

Well, I think Railrunner could give you the best melodeath recs, and probably the best symphonic and power ones too.

Help this dude out, Railrunnuh.

Though for technical death, I'd say definitely the Faceless, Hiroshima Will Burn, Cynic, Fleshgod Apocalypse (symphonic in their sophomore album, too.), Gorguts, and Brain Drill. Rings of Saturn are great too, only if you're willing to go for a more "core" sound though.

The Faceless isn't really Satanic, though they do directly oppose religion in their third album. Not sure if that's okay with you or not.

I think we should throw some Wretched at you, I think it's compatible to what's listed up there.

Also you should probably listen to Necrophagist even though they'll probably never put out another album. :(
