gaming Game Boy? What's that?

I remember going through so many Pokemon games. Red, Blue, Yellow, Silver, Crystal. I had so many level 100 Pokemon that I legit trained. And I remember pwning one of my brothers with self trained pokemon against his level 100 Gamesharked shiny legendary team on Pokemon Stadium 2 xD

Then again, I wasn't that legit. I trained a lot of my Pokemon on Pokemon Stadium 2 using the speed up feature, although not sure if that was for both Yellow and Silver, or just Yellow.

Hello, i am a 13 year old gamer guy who loves the classics

I truly do love old school gaming starting with the SNES even though I was born around the ps1 age

I am mainly now a PC gamer but I still love the classics such as mario, donkey Kong, ninja gieden and Battletoads I love hard games

I paid 24$ at a gaming market for my game boy when I was 11

I don't play it much but it's good to have

I couldn't make it through the video, I would've died of rage XD

Kids these days *Facehoof*

My childhood, that's what. I don't really care for FineBros, because a lot of the kids they put on are ignorant and really uninformed.

How could anyone, even young children prefer fake touch buttons over real buttons? That's horrible! I guess they are just so used to it that it seems normal to them, poor widdle saps :derp:. I used to have a gameboy advance, I even for a time had one of those stupid lighted magnifier things! I'm glad Nintendo still makes pixely portable game consoles, I thinks it's a smart move, especially with how much retro 8bit style games are becoming popular. And they even don't go totally insane with anti-tampering like M$ does (well last time I checked, years ago).

I think though that with a few good emulators, and a controller thingy, an android phone totally beats a gameboy and a slew of other emulatable old consoles. Hmm, it's actually rather interesting that technology has advanced to the point where one hobbyist could cheaply design and build something equivalent (or far superior) to an old gameboy with some 3d printing and microcontrollers.

Urgh! I hate on-screen keyboards. You don't get the visual and tactile feedback you get from a real keyboard, resulting in many, many more typographical errors. And also, obviously, they obscure a large part of the screen.

I'm sorry. This is why this generation has gone to hell. Facebook is not gaming. Using apps on a Itouch or Ipad is not gaming. To put the icing on this onslaught; you are not a gamer if you play Angry Birds. This is stuff that will drive older generations into madness because of all the disrespect for gaming. I am morally sick and outraged hearing how children would be so willing to throw away a perfectly good Gameboy for some stupid game apps on a Ipod.

They think that's old? It makes me wonder how they'd react to one of those old handheld games that ran on calculator technology

C'mon Hasbro. Make it.

Somepony really has to make a retro style avr based pony game thingy!

I kinda wish I still had my GBA, it got ruined by can urine of all things, I think... I can just use emulators though!

I levelled up my charmander to level 68 in mt moon with no HM flash in mt moon while deliberately stopping him from evolving in Pokemon red. How many hours did I spend on the game boy Color back in the early 90's? Answer: many thousand.

Eh, I can't blame them. They're young and it's not surprising they've never been exposed to this when there are better developments in technology. Although yeah some of them would be a bit ungrateful and that's straight rude, but besides that it's silly to be angry at them.

I'm not gunna lie, I'd rather play on an ipad or psp or computer or whatever, but that's not to say I didn't have fun on the gameboy (color) & Advance (sp) as a kid.

I see numerous people here are upset about how these children reacted to the Gameboy. I understand why you feel this way but you have to realize that many of us have grown up in different times and so have had different childhoods. To many of us, we see these devices as classics. But to these children, they're growing up in a notably more recent time and don't have any/little fond memories of these; to them these devices are outdated. I imagine that when they're older, they will think something like "Remember iPhone? That was great. These kids today with their virtual reality devices just don't appreciate the classics." I think losing faith in humanity over this is an over-reaction; it's simply the fact that we're getting older.

I don't have anything against children who use different things than we did, but it certainly makes me feel old.

I'll agree and I admit that my anger maybe more in aggression but I'm more angry about the blatant disrespect. I do understand kids will be kids, but there is a line between not being exposed to something but being open minded, and out right being disrespectful to older generations. Some of what was said like "It looks like junk" and "I'd throw it away and go back to my Ipod" are things that would warrant discipline in my book for saying.

We're not talking about the dudes who built the railroads here, these are entertainment systems. If gaming is a passion of yours, then you would have a bigger appreciation for older systems. A common kid though, they have no real reason to care about older systems. Compared to the tech we have now, it IS garbage. I say that having played through Gameboy Color and upwards. Talking about "disciplining" them over something like this is pretty silly. That's like calling my little brother an idiot because he doesn't appreciate T.V.'s that aren't flat.

P.S. Ipad gaming is pretty cool. Play FTL or Hearthstone sometime.

@ @Banul

I will respect your opinion on it but if it were my child who said such things, I'd give him/her discipline. IDK, I maybe a bit old school but I'm one who despises disrespect, whether it is to a person or a cherished item. Chastise me all you want but that's how I would handle it. I know not all of the kids outright bashed it and even gave fair criticisms. I will not be angry at that, but those that would choose to be disrespectful because they won't even bother to give it a proper chance, I'm sorry but I can't help but to be mad. I guess it's my inner gamer speaking but I cannot see stuff like Angry Birds as proper games for a gamer. I really don't see the appeal. Now do I think this stuff is bad? No. I just am not fond of this stuff as other people maybe.

Honestly. I'm not bothered by this video. At all. Yes they were rude but boo hoo hoo. That's how kids are. And so they don't like the gameboy or don't know what it is. Why does that even matter. If my kids didn't like the gameboy and said things like they did I wouldn't care because I've never really played the damned gameboy. So it wouldn't matter to me. Hell if they didn't like any of the retro systems(nes, snes, etc) I wouldn't be pissed off. I'd slowly try to see if they'd get into it. I wouldn't act so pissed off like most of the f------g posters here. You people are kind of overreacting if you ask me. This s---ts going to happen in the future with the current systems and then what. Then what are you going to do. You going to complain? Going to call them self entitled? You going to act like they're horrible little s--ts? Huh what are you going to do.

I would love to hear your logic on how Facebook and phone apps aren't gaming. Especially when you include Angry Birds which is very much a game.

Heh, I remember my Game Boy. Well, it was owned by my brother, but I played it a lot too, even though I was terrible at it. Seriously, the first time I played Pokémon Yellow, I thought the object of the game was to walk with Pikachu. When I got into a battle, I thought it was a glitch. xP

But in all seriousness, this isn't a big deal. As much as I love my trusty PS1 and Nintendo 64, I love the newer technology way more. Even though there were some things I really disagree with, everybody has different childhoods and were born in different times, and I'm fine with that. Heck, sometimes I even like to think what's the big deal with consoles like the SNES, but that's because I was born at a time when certain consoles were popular. Not everybody is going to be born in the same timeline as you.

These kids don't like my outdated technology!? A POX upon them and their collective lawns!!

Honestly, technology has improved significantly over these years and as a result, our expectations have increased as well. We have portable gaming consoles now that have better graphics on them than the nintendo 64, it's no surprise that the younger generation wouldn't have the same kind of appreciation for the gameboy as I did when I was a kid. I still bet you though if they had more games to play like some mario games, pokemon or wario land, they might change their mind... After all, I feel that good games promote a platform far better than the console's capabilities.

My point is that they wouldn't be proper things to play if you wish to be referred to as a gamer. I don't really care that it makes me sound like an ass, but I really don't consider Angry Birds a gamer's kinda game.
