3 questions about Gummy?

• How did the developers of the show come up with the idea of this silly alligator, Gummy?
• Does Gummy ever say, "NAKNAKNAK"?
• What will happen to Gummy in the future, as he for now is a baby alligator? Will he be something like the Cakes' personal guard dog? Or will he have to be released into the wild, as gators are also dangerous carnivores (shudders)?

Someone on the writing team thought it would be hilarious to have Pinkie own a vicious carnivore as a pet. Because that's never been done before.

 

Either that, or Pinkie's so awesome and fun, she can tame untameable animals. Move over, Fluttershy, because the pony Red has been determined.

You'd still see portions of his rotted teeth. He never has them.............

3. Of course he'll never be a guard dog. Things may be different in the MLP universe than they are in ours, but alligator to canine is just too far of a stretch. Instead he will be a seemingly lazy pet alligator who in fact will horribly mangle intruders with one quick lunge (they can't show this because it's a kid's show, so it will be covered as him spilling ketchup all over the floor and walls at coincidentally the exact same time an intruder "disappears"). Given his proximity to Pinkie, I would not entirely oppose the possibility of him barking.

My theory is that Pinkie Pie,surprisingly, ran out of things to do one day. She realized she hadn't tried creating life yet, so she tried creating life.
Gummy is the first semi-sentient candy golem ever made. Even Celestia herself can't figure out how it works.

It's a reference to the webcomic Homestuck in which creatures called nakodiles make that noise; since theyre both kinda like alligators/crocodiles I'm sure that's why he says that on the blog - but Gummy is mute as far as we know in MLP!

I think the writers and animators were just being goofy.

 

Pinkie is always rambling about something and bouncing off the walls. Gummy on the other hand never makes a sound and really only just sits there and well...blinks.

 

I think its great though lol.
