"The natural rhythms of the body was indicator to when it would require something. I guess sleep is one of them just as hunger demands it to be satiated with food or thirst with drink. I am envious towards those who don't need it, however; they have all the time in the world to do what they pleased and their bodies don't tire."

 

But there was always more to the question and only saying one thing would leave out the rest of the thoughts that may or may not matter, depending on what answers one sought. And on the matter of dreams, it would be unthinkable to leave out this aspect of sleep. 

"Dreaming... that is one other thing that I welcome but at the same time I loathe it. When I sleep, I usually expect only several minutes to go by when in reality, it was hours that passed. Dreams usually make that time speed up as I enjoy the sights and sounds that are conjured within the mind. They seem so real and yet so surreal at the same time. It was interesting to see how these would change as no dream was ever the same. But the nightmares, those are what I loathe most. Dreams are unpredictable and what you may perceive as blissful may quickly turn to horror. That's not the worst part. Some say those who experience nightmares may be trapped in such a state that they remain in the dream while their physical body remains stiff, unable to wake. I thought those tale are meant to scare the young ones but there is more truth to it than anyone lets on."

summer giggled when blitz pulled her toung to a root, then she saw that frosty had woken up, it didn't look like he was hurt. 'frosty, you alright?' she asked, just to be sure, 'and I do not know the answers to all of those questions, I'm just as confused myself' summer added.

 

then she saw blitz walking towards the rainbow water. she looked a bit wobbly and summer quickly followed her. she heard her wonder if the water would taste good, and then ask if they where okay 'I think we are alright' summer said to her 'and I wonder how it tastes too, do you think it would taste like different kinds of lemonade?' summer added and stared at the water, it was one of the most interesting things she had ever seen. 'do you think it works like paint?' summer said and then put the tip of her hoof in the water.

Frosty sighed with relief as he saw that Blitz and Summer were mostly ok. He was still slightly panicky about all the mystery surrounding all of this, but at least no pony was hurt.

 

"Yes, I'm alright. Just a bit spooked, that's all." 

 

Frosty was pretty disoriented, and his manes were a bit messier than usual, but there was nothing really bad going on.

 

When he saw that Blitz and Summer were over at the rainbow water, he quickly went over to them.

 

"I....really don't think you should taste that. If I remember correctly, rainbows are incredibly spicy. I'm not sure if this is actual rainbow-matter-stuff, or something else, but I am sure that tasting or doing anything with it is an incredibly bad idea."

 

Frosty suddenly pointed at Summer.

 

"So put down that rainbow! It's probably not safe!"

 

Frosty really wasn't sure what rainbows tasted like, and he wanted to find out really badly, but this didn't seem safe. Who knows? Rainbow water might be poisonous, it might not be. No way to know for sure but to taste it.

 

Frosty still wanted to know what it tasted like pretty badly though, glancing at it every few seconds.

He levitated a ball of the mysterious water up into the air. It looked like rainbow water alright. The light shining through it was really pretty, shining colourful patterns onto the ground.

 

"Well, there's no denying that it's pretty."

 

Frosty shrugged, and began taking closer and closer looks at the water, observing it from every angle.

@@Blitz Boom, The door at the top of stairs opens and Serenade, weighed down with two saddle bags trots down. "Um....hey Ziggy, you okay?". There is more then a hint of worry in her voice, "Also....what is that" She points at the woodland creature. "Friend of yours?" Serenade puts the saddle bags down, out of which pokes a fairly large telescope.

Alexander Tinker was seated in his "thinking corner," a room located just outside of the living room and next to the hallway which led to his bedroom. Alexander had had enough complaining from guests that they couldn't sit anywhere. It wasn't his fault that he had so many ideas that needed to be written down. Perhaps other ponies just needed to be more understanding of the importance of his schematics and blueprints. 'When I'm done with this one, they'll see what these things mean!' he thought. The invention he was working on would be revolutionary to Equestria. When he finished it, at least. It'll happen. Eventually.

Carl broke into crawlerling form and crawled to the floor above quickly to the side of the trapdoor opposite Queen Allure. He reassembled himself, then made a bow to Queen Allure as if to apologize. Carl wasn't one to use many words... or any at all for that matter. He showed no fear as he bowed, only respect. Miststalker did you the one thing he could do, wait. He was in the changeling's grasp and right now, Ko spoke in place of Ashta, so it wasn't Miststalker's place to talk.

Outside, there were several loud thuds at a pace that sounded like they could be hoofsteps. Each step shook the ground. Sissilia moved over to the boarded up window to see if she could see whatever this was through the cracks between the boards.

Priestess used this opportunity to vault herself and spring out of the pit.  "Bring him up here." she commanded of her drones to bring Miststalker up, which they did with their magic. "So, who among the courts sent you and why?"

 

 

"What- What do you mean you forgot the song? Okay, screw, screw it, no screw it, screw it! Just- Just take my walkmane and hit random. No, just hit random. Okay, three, two..." They all heard muffled though the front castle doors. 

 

Before they burst open, revealing a bat winged fox, and music blaring with her.

Meeko looked around at the others - even the other Timberwolf - with a confused look in her eyes whilst she were still being petted, trying to find out what she were supposed to do. Usually in situations like this the packleader was going to decide what to do, but who were the alpha here? Amongst them size tended to decide, so... Ginger? Other wolf? Who was bigger?

 

Though she didn't like the bully timberwolf and didn't trust she wasn't going to attack him again, he eventually looked at her more constantly and barked a few words towards her, which in timber-tongue would roughly be *Where alpha? What we do?"

Ko had moved to the floor above them and bowed slightly to the queen amongst them too as Carl did before speaking to their high priestess again, knowing that keeping the information stream running would be important to keep this going smoothly. Or well, as smoothly as it could when Mist were still in their grasp and the high priestess likely weren't in a good mood.

With that, Briar let the right vine slide from under his cape and over towards the area where Seamore were digging holes whilst he used his magic to keep the seeds floating towards their locations. When the vine reached near Seamore, it would examine one of the holes he had made so he could gather how big the hole needed to be roughly, then raised one of them and punched down into the ground with the sturdy pod, making a hole he expanded to roughly the size needed afterwards and spat out the earth in a pile next to the hole. He could taste things less severely when from his pods, but there were still some sensors, and dirt were not tasteful to be honest.

 

Yet, he would go on with little concern for that. make hole, send seed, send seed to Seamore's holes, rinse and repeat. Somewhat tedious, but it would go faster, and he had done worse menial labour back home in the jungle than this, and at least he wasn't whipped here after all.

"You worry if I know how this board have been set, or the pieces come to where they are. That I know what is to come not only because I see what have yet to be, but because my paws have made ripples through time leading to this very moment. Those things are valid concerns and dangerous questions, with even more dangerous ripples through your time if you know them too soon."

 

Zhu looked back to the point in the sky where he had seen the mare of demons before and started to chant under his breath again, only stopping briefly to say a last few words to Quinch, of whom he seemed destined now to clash with not only on this occasion.

 

"Find patience in these final minutes and you will find your answers, son of man, or follow the path you now traverse at your own risk."

"Nuhuh, this little thing is evil."

 

Whilst she said this and pointed at the bitey little thing, it had already taken off, spreading it's large ears that gathered a way beneath it's paws and tail and flown over towards a place to stand near Serenade, where it folded it's earwings down again and looked up at her with big, innocent eyes whilst chittering adorably.

 

"Evil I tell you!"

 

The little thing was looking even less like a complete woodland creature when it got closer. where Serenade would be able to see it's paws being webbed, an extra, barely visible see-through membrane at it's eyes to keep dirt or water out of, a flexible tail that seemed to perhaps have some muscle beneath the fur, and the ears would strikingly look like something that might also be usable to guide underwater.

 

That aside, it still looked and sounded mighty cute, and as it moved a little closer to her and put its head on her, looking up at her with adorableness oozing out, it would be hard for Ziggy to make her case about this being any sort of evil thing.

A loud knocking would be heard on his door, and a muffled voice would come through when he would eventually get close enough.

 

"Come on. I know you're in there."

 

Jelly would keep knocking with random intervals outside, looking with excitement at the for now closed door dressed in the normal outfit her daddy had bought to her some time ago, plus the small satchel on her side containing her extra glasses, the letter to daddy and the small jar of crickets she kept around if Gary wanted snacks. The arachnid in question seemed to be sleeping soundly on her mane.

 

She wondered if her dad was sleeping during the day again now and that was why he didn't answer the door. She were sure this was the place though, at least if the pony she had asked directions from were right. But she should after all though, right? Her daddy was easy to see, so where he lived should be easy enough to point out too.

 

Yeah, she was just being silly now, it was more important to think about how his face would look when he saw she were there. She bet he would be shocked, but he should be happy too she'd think. After all, now he wasn't alone anymore in Ponyville.

The old pony looked at the little whipper-snapper for a time, then nodded and turned his back to her to return to town.

 

"When you catch the rascal who did this, I hope you put some discipline into him. Kids these days are too lacking of that sort of thing and need to know their actions have consequences."

 

He kept saying stuff like this as he walked away, though mostly to himself. He didn't normally get all up in a tiff like this over things, but he got cranky when he couldn't do the work here were promising to get done, and he couldn't work when he had no tools.

As the water made contact with Summer's hoof, it... Did nothing. Much as it might have been impressive if it had, it were not a thing that dissolved other objects.

 

"You should listen to the icy one. The stream might do weird things to your kind."

 

The pearly, yet slightly gruff female voice came out of seemingly nowhere and made Blitz look around her, trying to figure out where the voice had come from, but finding nothing.

 

"Then again, what Are your kind even? I haven't seen something like you before. Are you invaders?"

 

"Nuhuh, invaders are mean."

 

A small laughter emitted from somewhere opposed to the water, amongst the foilage more than likely, before the voice went on once more.

 

"Good to hear, small creature. But what of those others? Are you here to harm the valley? To harvest the fallen Adatzne Bow?"

"There are nightmares, but there are dreams too.

 

My siblings and me never sleep unless it's added, and master did not with me. Like home, I only see those who rest, and from what I am told I envy it. I envy the chance to rest and find yourself in dreams far from this world, even if I don't know what might happen there, or if the end will come whilst your eyes are closed.

 

Most nights I just walk around alone, with even less to talk with than normal, wondering when others will wake again, and what worlds their minds are in now. A journey that I can't follow them on, though I often wish I could try.

 

But I think this is the nature of things? Those who have one will think the other is better, yes?"

 

She were still learning a lot of things after all, and amongst them she had heard a few snippets from others that she tried to make fit and understand. Like this thing with the nature of things, or as many others have said *The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence*. Something that, when taken literally, she couldn't understand as the grass seemed the same no matter what side she looked from on a fence.

One of Alexander's ears twitched as he heard a knocking on his front door. He made a few quick notes on the paper he was writing on to remind him where he left off for when he resumed working on it. He rose from his seated position and moved out of the room towards the front door. There he heard what he presumed to be a mare saying "Come on, I know you're in there!" The voice was unfamiliar to him, though he opened the door regardless. Perhaps this was the new mailmare that he had requested, the last one was so klutzy that she almost ruined his entire order of baubles! After opening the door, he was greeted by a mare with some odd looking sunglasses. "Are you the new mailmare?" he asked. Then another thought occurred to him, with a look of panic in his eyes, he quickly asked "Did I forget to pay the bills again? Are you here to take my designs?!?!"

Clara heard the question from the pup. That's a good question. Really, anywolf--or pony, or... thing--could be considered an Alpha Male. Could there be an Alpha Female? She's heard of packs that had the Omega Female take Alpha's place when he was injured. Maybe the roles could be reversed?

Anyways, to answer the pup's question, she looked around the room. The hybrid--Ginger?--was female, so she's out. The only two male creatures here are Lonk and the pup. The pup is, well, a pup, so he's out. That just leaves Lonk. Wait, couldn't she be the Alpha? As much as she wants to take control of the situation, there isn't just timberwolves and pups here; there's ponies and other creatures. They can't understand Timber-Speak. So, she barked at the pup, "Lonk Alpha." She realized that the pup might not know who Lonk is, so she pointed at him with her paw and added, "Blue pony, glowing eyes."

She then realizes that his eyes are glowing brighter than they used to be when he first walked in here. He's a hybrid too, is he? But those creatures didn't have inter-species relationships... Or maybe one of them took off on his/her own and hooked up with some lonely pony in the woods. Whatever the case may be, Lonk is not ponian.

 

Lonk sees that Clara is conversing with the pup and mentioning him. Maybe they're mentioning his glowing eyes, he doesn't know. But it's scaring him. The eyes, not the timberwolves. There's something about him that he doesn't know about and he wants to know right now.

But he won't know.

He decided to check out the hoofsteps outside, he walks over to the door and opens it, shouting, "WHO ARE YOU?"

"Oh yeah. Well, you know how we like to keep tabs on you for various reasons, speaking of which, Hi step mom!" Allure waved. "And thanks to the 'shady' contacts you've set us up with, we've kept tabs on what's going on to the untrained eyes of Equines. Turns out, you can't exactly issue a scorched earth policy slash cover up regarding an ancient demon, without some word of it getting out. Stuff like that tends to raise some conversations. And go figure, the courts thought it was your fault. And while whether that';s true or not has yet to be scene, we still can't have you dying, not while your married to the countess, and not while you've got my newborn brothers and sisters to take care of. Conversely, where the hay are the little mutants? 

 

"Over in the bucket. Guess what? Now that you're here, you can kit sit them." "Oh goody, what's my allowance this time?" "Visiting rights." "Aww." She went over to the lings guarding the saddle baskets. "It's fine. She's their big sister." The drones lifted the crates and put them on Rev's back. "Boy, they've sure grown since I last saw them." 

 

"Anyways, back to you." She addressed the Ananasi. "Walk with me. Allure, if you would. Oh and bring him too." she said in reference to Miststalker. Allure buzzed over. Her entourage of Lings followed in her wake.  Priestess was heading outside. "Oh that reminds me. Mom came with and she wants to see you." "Oh she did, did she? Well let's not keep her waiting." She said as she reached the open doors. Reverie made a few gestures with her wings. Unseen and unheard, word was making it's way back to Summer. @Mentis Soliloquy,

 

"Now, you said soemthign about a guardian? Was this guardian an out of control giant chaos spider wreaking havoc with the Everfree forest?"

Ginger Lightning stopped petting Meeko and went to see who Lonk was yelling at...She poked Lonk in the shoulder a few times to get his attention.

"Hey, Lonk there is a few things I want to ask you..."Ginger Lightning said she really wanted to know if Lonk was a hybrid of some sort or not so maybe If she just asked him about it maybe she could tell If he was another hybrid of some sort.

@@Blitz Boom, Serenade looks down at the creature, cocking her head to one side. "Oh, Ziggy, telling me somepony or" she points to the creature, "something is evil isn't really the best way to state your case....however." Serenade leans down close, "looks aren't always an indication of alignment. Take Angel as case in point" Serenade smiles, revealing sharp teeth, "nature has learned to conceal." Serenade puts a hoof over her pendant, "tell me fluffy thing, what do you do when you encounter an apex predator....hrm?"

Summer's ears perked up, hearing her daughter singling for her. About time already. She looks to those around her. "Well that is my calling, till next time." With that being said she all but vanished, seemingly into thin air in reality she could move at very fast speeds in short distances not extended but she could make it dramatic once in a while.

Summer homed on the signal and found them quickly she landed in her normal dramatic fashion, wings at full extent legs slightly bent head down. Then like a must preformed act she stood and looked to the castle. Well it's not in good condition then? She entered and saw Priestess and Reve, any amount of aloof attitude she had was gone upon seeing the pair, she just grew a smile on her face. "My girls..."

Allure looked on as her mate's wife arrived with stunning speed and grace. "Oh dear. This is gonna be awkward isn't ? It certainly was the last time."

Summer did not say a word she walked over to Priestess and have her a hug, for a few moments then pulled away. "I was worried, sorry you know what I get like, I was willing to start a war to have you back I love you too much." A single tear came down her cheek she caught it with her wing tip and got rid of it. "Look you've got me crying again."

Priestess returned the hug. "Sorry you had to get wrapped up in this. No idea tings would get crazy. But I'm glad I got those in my life that are willing to wage for me." She kissed Summer on her cheek. 

 

Allure watched on. A few emotions going though her. Among them, longing. She could feel the love between those tow and so could every other drone.

"Oh that's not all. Then we heard tree's crashing. He went to check it out. I went to spy. There were some ponies and a talking cat, and a shinigami,  chopping down magic trees and they were fighting a chaos spider, which might be why these guys are so pissed. So I went and saved them, while one of them killed it with...something, I dunno. Not my fault. Then a tree exploded and it impaled me, which felt awkward-"

 

This sparked a memory in Allure. "Someling fly up to our room and fetch that stick she's talkign about."  Which one of the drones flew off to do. 

 

"So it was gonna rain, and storms in the Everfree suck, so we headed back to the castle for the night, but we did that by crossing through tiem and space and a dream realm where I met up with Allure back there, who brought our Kit/lings which Reverie is currently kit sitting. 

 

Reverie was lookign inside the crates. "Aww, they're even cuter then last time!" She yelled over to them before sticking her head back inside. "Hey. Remember me? I'm your big half sister."

 

"So we reached the castle, but Luna and a Siren and a zombie pony were there, and Allure got scared of the Siren cause Sirens and Changelings hate each other. Who knew? Then Luna acted like a bitch and fired a beam which did soemthign to the wood in me...that didn't sound right... and caused her to loose her disguise and pass out and which hurt Petey in there as well for reasons. I'm still gonna kick her flank for that. Weird, I think he was floating in mid air for quite a while.

 

"So another changeling showed up, treated them both. We went to sleep. Woke up. Then the spider folks dun goofed and well, you can read the last 10 or so pages of posts to figure out the rest."
