Did anyone else see when pinke janked her head in to the portal, then took it out and was all dizzy?

I thought about this and also that machine twilight builds makes the portal stay open all the time.

So my conclusion is that anyone could go in our out off the portal whenever they want, maybe a session 5 villan is going to use this method.

What do you think?

Actually, remember that Twilight used the journal that is the other end of Sunset's journal as a "battery" to power the portal. I believe that despite the fact we don't see it onscreen, Twilight must have had Sunset write in her journal a message back to the Mane 6 in Equestria that she made it safely to the other side and that they should remove the "battery" journal from the mirror to close the portal. Then, when Twilight was ready to return, Sunset would write another message telling the Mane 6 to put the "battery" journal back on the mirror and open the way home for Twilight.

See, the mirror is like the door and the "battery" journal is the key that locks and unlocks the door.

Also I would like to point the friendship lesson of the film:

Twilight (at her low point of feeling like a failure): I'm supposed to be the one with all the answers and all I've done since I got here is let you down.
Sunset (returning the same encouraging smile Twilight gave her after her defeat in the last film): I don't think anyone is supose to have all the answers, but you can count on your friends to help you find them.

and want to add that

the giant sky alicorn that was conjured up like how the Dazzling astral -project their true forms is an astral alicorn or should I call it an Astralicorn  ;)

Just got done watching Rainbow Rocks on TV. It was pretty good and I actually enjoyed it more than Twilight's Kingdom. And I prefer the show over Equestria Girls. I mean the concept of Equestria Girls is interesting but also gimmicky IMO. But anyway I did like the songs as well. But the thing I was excited to see more than anything about the movie was we finally got to see more of Twilight's Castle and she has a library.

I also just finished watching the TV premier. I really love this movie. It's quality continues to blow me away. Now I just wait patiently for my Blu-Ray pre-order.

If this was your first viewing of RR, you may also want to check out the DVD/Blu Ray version without the cuts and in high definition for the best experience.

*whistle* Talk about a HUGE improvement over the first movie.

Just finished watching the Cinemaquestria TV stream, and I was very impressed with Rainbow Rocks. Story's a lot better, the Mane 6 are just as enjoyable to watch, the villains are fantastic, soundtrack was phenomenal and Sunset Shimmer... well, I'll just say she got a much-needed boost from this movie and she's now one of my favorites.

Fan shoutouts were pretty awesome too. Good to know they can get some love in this spinoff. Especially a certain Cream and Lime couple. ;)

Though I have to ask: how in the hell can Vinyl Scratch afford that freakin' bassmobile?! o.o

If they went with the spinoff show or another movie, I wouldn't mind it at all. DHX and Hasbro definitely took a lot more care with this movie than the first one, and I'm happy to say that I'm looking forward to what they do with this IP in the future.

Think I'm going to watch the uncut stream on october 28th, leaning to the "definitely going to watch side" atm

Does the DVD/Blu Ray version have deleted scenes?

I doubt it. But the version that just aired had multiple cuts that made the movie shorter for TV. That also includes the cut credits, which are excellent, and they also have a little surprise at the end as well.

Just watched the livestream, and gotta say I love Rainbow Rocks far more than the first EQG movie. Epic soundtrack, and the final concert scene was so wonderfully done.

I just saw this movie on the Hub, my name for Discovery family, and it by far superseded my expectations, this is perhaps the best sequel I have seen in so long. I love this movie, it was worth the wait, I loved the script, the villains were great, and the music was the best I have heard in a long time, Daniel Ingram and William Anderson should be proud, Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks, also had some of the most beautiful animation I have ever seen, what DHX did using Adobe Flash was stunning, they have come a long way in four years. Sunset Shimmer has become one of my favourite characters, she had a lot to overcome, the legacy she left from the last film, constantly haunted her until the movie's climax, it was sort of reminiscent of Discord, after he was brought back in "Keep calm and Flutter On", and of course "Twilight's Kingdom" was where Discord finally came to his senses, it was amazing to see that play out into this movie. The Dazzlings were a intimidating group of villains, also derived from Hellenic legends of the sirens, I love the fact that My Little Pony is using Hellenic mythology, the key to their power is to feed of the negative Qi, as I like to put it, and it was the jewels they wore that gave them the power to feed and manipulate others to give them energy, or do their bidding, I think next to Tirek, the Dazzlings are some of the most threatening villains to date; season five could top that. The magic in this movie was inspiring, I think it was nice to see that the human mane six kept their magic, and Sunset Shimmer got her magic too, I thought that was a great addition, she deserved to get her ears and ponytail too, if there is a another Equestria Girls movie I would see it in a heartbeat, I liked the cameos, I really liked Lyra and Octavia, they looked great, moreover I liked the fact that the human mane six got developed too, it was pleasing to see them together again. Overall, I love this movie, I am getting this movie when it comes out, I have never been so enthusiastic about being a brony, until I saw this movie, I wish to get deeper involvement in this fandom, I feel so great for being a part of this herd, and I wish to share that energy with all of you somewhere, plus I thought the ending was stellar, I am eager for a follow up with the human Twilight Sparkle, and pony Twilight Sparkle meet in another movie, I want to see that, for now bronies everywhere, I have my first brony meet up at the renaissance festival, and it will be my twenty eighth birthday, I wish I could celebrate with all of you bronies, for now we can watch this sequel and the new invigoration I feel right now.

Wow. That...was...awesome!

After a few weeks of waiting for the TV premiere, I finally got the chance to see the film live this morning here in Australia despite a early 6:30 start and having to get up an hour earlier to be ready for the premiere.

To sum it all up....I was not disappointed! I really got into the film and actually enjoyed watching it as well as posting my live reactions on Twitter. It was the next best thing to being at the cinema and seeing the film in person.

There were a few gripes that I had with the TV version though. I was looking forward to seeing the scene with Flash and Twilight in the hallway after the first Rainbooms performance and seeing her in tears in high quality, but for some odd reason this was cut from the TV broadcast. I am not complaining, but it would have been nice to see that scene in this version as it would have generated a wave of emotional reactions.

Apart from that, I would definitely see the film again when the DVD/Blu-Ray is released in a few weeks time.

My thoughts and reactions to the film can be found in a two part blog post below:

The Dazzlings were creepy and really good villains and I sort of figured that they were sirens considering they seem to feed off something involving emotions.

I totally agree with you there. They were great villains. However, I do kind of sympathize with them about something. Now that they're unable to feed off hate, how are they gonna eat? Hopefully the whole "feeding off emotions" thing wasn't actually for sustenance, but for just gaining power. I don't want the poor Dazzlings to starve. Not even a villain deserves that fate. Especially Sonata Dusk. :yay:

The Flash being mean to Twilight to make her cry scene doesn't contribute anything to the movie plot, Twilight's motive, or even the romance as it never gets mentioned in the movie afterwards.

I totally disagree! During that scene, I picture Sunset witnessing mean Flash making Twilight cry from offscreen and decided to confront the Dazzlings in the dark hallway because of that. Yeah, I'm making the arguement that particular scene was to get Sunset motivated to confront the Dazzlings. It's my most favorite memorable terkjerker in the film! :(
