Okay, my theory about the town being brainwashed, might have just got thrown out of the window.

 

Did these ponies actually gave their Cutie Marks up willingly? Then i ask myself why?

 

Probobly the mayor convinced them that having an 〓 mark would be better. The mayor either lied or she honestly belives it herself.

Or the whole bit where ponies gave up their cutie marks is some sort of cover story since there seems to be some sort of brain washing going on with the fake smiles and trying to give the illusion that everything's fine and happy.

I am going to say that I really don't think this show is going to make any sort of political statement, if anything because they don't want to alienate any fans.

 

They arn't going to take a side in individualism vs collectivism, they are not going to say the individual is more important than the group or vice versa. They are not going to say 'Socialism good, Capitalism bad!' or vice versa either.

 

None-the-less, I can see a bunch people going 'ha, this episode is a critique on communism!', or 'ha, this episode is a critique on conservatives!', and I really think thats probobly not the case. Living in houses that look just the same as a symbol of conformity is kinda a theme in both soviet style housing projects and the capitalist american suburbs.

 

 

However, I am looking forward to reading everbodies pollitical opinions in regards to the episode.

Seeing as to how they're already getting ready for releasing the season premier on DVD I'm pretty certain we'll get an April release.

I will laugh when Hasbro does a campaign where they say: "Hey kids. Do you want to see the season premiere earlier then everyone else? Then buy our DVD instead of waiting till fall."

If they did that discovery family would probably boycott them. Also depending on when in April it will air I think we will soon start seeing teaser trailers air on DF in a matter of weeks if not days.

If I remember correctly Crystal Empire was released on DVD shortly after season 3 came out and this article says June 30th so the season has to come out before June 30. It's already March so I don't think we have too long of a wait. I highly doubt a DVD for a series would be released before a season. The only time I'v seen episodes released on DVD before their air date was when I bought "Leroy & Stitch" and there was a bonus episode of Lilo & Stitch The Series as a special feature that aired on TV months later. If Equestria Girls 3 was coming out before season 5 then I would worry about these "Cutie Mark-less" episodes coming out before the season as DVD special features.

Glimmer isn't villainous, she has just view point on friendship, so that's really interesting.

 

They actually bring in the smooze, huh? I was one of the few who couldn't care less, but hey, i think alot of bronies are very happy now.

Huh so they are Communists (sorta), and the smooze, they're taking a lot of concepts from G1 aren't they. Also "beloved characters" I'm sorry but who (beyond little girls and an underground group of nostalgic women) cared about MLP prior to FIM?
