I can confirm that the BluRay version is unaffected, but I haven't watched the DVD-Disc that's bundled with it.

I still have not received my DVD. But, now that I think about it, it could be affected.

 

EDIT : Actually no. The article states "beginning 28th October". Mine was shipped before today.

Luckily, those living overseas who imported can just

navigate to the chapters menu, and begin playback from the first chapter,

to avoid the out-of-order playback issue.

I'm currently waiting for my 2 Blu-Ray/DVD combo pack copies to be shipped from Amazon.com. It should arrive by next week. I plan to give one copy of the pack to my friend who has a DVD player and PS3 that play Blu-rays and keep the other copy for myself. The bug in the DVD worries me, but my friend can still play the blu-ray version. I'll check the DVD copy for myself first.

I was able to return the DVD version of the film and bought a Blu-Ray version at Target. The Blu-Ray version works correct? If so thank lord!

That's not that bad, doesn't sound hard to get around really. I'll probably just rent it anyway, and if I ever do buy it make sure it's after the defective version is discontinued and whatnot.

Got my DVD yesterday and whoa Shout! wasnt kidding about the skips on the normal play.

The chapter play and worked fine.

Did apply for the replacement DVD.

I'm going to be getting my blu-ray/dvd combo pack at my door from Amazon.com tonight. I hope that if the bug DOES happen on the DVD, I could send it back to amazon.com for a error-free replacement and no extra charge.

 

Also, as I'm typing this post, the webpage for "My Little Pony Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks [blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy]" on Amazon.com is 404'd! I wonder if that means they were told about the bug and are preventing people from purchasing any more potential error-ridden products.

Its been a week and havent heard from Shout Factory neither.

They did say its gonna take 2 weeks to send the replacement DVDs.

(According to Shout!'s website)

Oh well.

Honestly, Shout Factory has been really bad with DVDs though. Anyone remember when "The Friendship Express" was first released, and FiM Part 1 became incredibly out-of-sync half way through?

Well Hello There! 

So, I had just gotten Equestria Girls: Rainbow Rocks for my birthday, and I went to go and watch it. 

So, when I watched it, when the song 'Under Our Spell' was supposed to play, the entire song was skipped. Then it continued. About where the song 'Welcome to the Show' was supposed to play, it instantly skipped back and played Under Our Spell. It then skipped and played Welcome to the Show, then went on like nothing happened. The disc is completely clean, and I've tried playing it in a Bluray Player and a DVD Player. It happens each time. This is the DVD Though, and not the Bluray disc. I would like to know if anyone else is experiencing this, or if it's just me. We bought it from Walmart, and I've already been told it may be a Walmart problem, because my brother was bought a DVD from there, and it had stopped half way through, and nothing else happened, though it was completely clean.

Has this happened to anyone else?

This was a disc production error and this is a known issue with the first wave of discs. Shout Factory has an exchange policy on these.
