gaming Anything you hate in your favorite video game?

We all have a favorite video game. We all have reasons why we love them too.

But, is there a certain mission, situation, bossfights, enemies, etc that you HATE encountering in the game? A part that makes you go "Oh...this part....oh my god....." and its just a part you would like to avoid at all costs?

I would say, in one of my favorite games "Star Fox adventures" there is a part in the game where you take those Krazoa tests, There was one test called the "test of fear". Incase some one has never played this game, basically you have to do this test, where it shows all this stuff going on and you have to keep this little red line within this green bar and if it even goes off the green bar, you lose. It was very difficult to me, because it just went everywhere and you had to keep balancing it. Now, its not SOO hard to me, but whenever I replay the game, and when I get to that part, i'm just like "Oh great......THIS part". Its more annoying to me now.

I hated it when I first realised how often I was staring at loading screens after collecting the Lordvessel in Dark Souls.

The Doctor: Clara, be my pal. Tell me, am I a good man?

Clara: I … don’t know.

The Doctor: Neither do I.

My only gripe of Battlefield 4 is the amount of snipers who camp every game, not going for the objective and only get like 5 kills per game. Usually because they camp in horrible locations where there are no people or because they're just shit at being a sniper.

Also the SRR-61

Skyrim. It gave me 2-3 years of lonely joy, but the bugs are sometimes just too much. I believe i yelled in frustration once when the game froze, and threw something into the wall. And indent I'll never forget.

Unskippable Scenes in general. I don't have a specific game but i guess FF7 would be one. that you have already seen but had to redo due to death, re use of summon (FF7) etc. etc.

Conkers bad fur day-surf punks, u bend blues, frying tonight, undead. Each of these have something in common. They're all frustrating as hell. Surf punks for the hover board being really hard to properly control without crashing and exploding constantly, u bend blues for having to time yourself so you don't get chopped up by the fans, frying tonight for the same as y bend blues but replace fans with cutting sparky wires and avoiding getting electrocuted, and undead for the annoying zombies.

Pokemon-the elite four, whitneys miltank, and plenty of other battles. Self explanatory. I can't quite think of any other battles, so insert your own I suppose.

Kirby epic yarn-cocoa station. I. Hate. The. Train. Form. It's impossible to control.

Mortal Kombat 9-Shao Kahn. I'm not even going to say a word about why I hate this part.

Sly Cooper Series-From one:Clockwerk battle and every mission that comes before that battle outside and inside his lair. Mz. Ruby's missions, special mention to the swamp speeder one, the chicken one, the torch light one and the beast one.

Basically every escort mission ever. The race missions along with both of the Murray ones where you have to help him get to the treasure key via using a canon type weapon to defeat enemies, destroy obstacles and make platforms and such work or appear so he can go further. From two:Every contessa mission, including her boss fight. Clock-La and every arpeggio mission. And a few others I can't remember ATM.

From three: Helicopter missions, the plane fighting missions, the treasure hunting missions, there's a lot that I hate in this game, but it's a love hate really. Threes my least favorite of these games.

From four: I can't quite think of any right now, I'll edit this later when I think of some.

Sonic-A lot really, much as I love the franchise there's been a ton of moments where I just throw my controller down, start screaming obscenities, that sort of thing. I'd say any water level, any level involving high places, omochao, bigs fishing missions are a few I can think of.

Unskippable cutscenes.

Timed missions.

Escort missions.

Bosses with multiple forms.

Bosses who take a while to show their weak spots.

Those sorts of things.

I hate escort missions and timed missions. The AI in escorts just run out and get killed. And I like taking my time on missions.

You read my mind.  Every escort mision in every game I've ever played is the most fiendish instrument of tourture ever devised by the devil in the days of man.  The worst escort scene ever was that idiot (can't remember his name) in the amoeba scene in Metro 2033.  (Probably my favorite shooter of all time, aside from that scene.)  Luckily there's a hilarious exploit to beat that scene.  But if you want to know true gaming hell, play Coastal Highway in ODST on Legendary with all skulls.  The elephant scene, I can't even...I still have nightmares.

I found Rodent from BFD to be the most infuriating escort mission. Get this, you're in a war zone level, and you run into your ol pal Rodent, he's wearing this top of the line armor that can protect him from basically everything. You save him from some enemies and he agrees to help you. The rest of this mission is this: Make sure to keep him ahead of you so he can pull a scared turtle when enemy fire or land mines are around and his armor with protect you fro enemy fire. Doesn't sound too hard does it. Well it is. Rodent has a tendency to fall behind and when he does you have to run back there, avoiding land mines and heavy gunfire. It happens ALOT. So you're almost constantly avoiding this s---t. You have to pretty much memorize the entire path to get through it, failure after failure until you finally execute it without dying. I ended up finishing an Xbox controller for good because of this one. I had already chewed the controller cord up pretty good from the first three parts I mentioned.

My favorite video game is Shadow of the Colossus, and it took me a while to think of somethink I disliked. But I think the only part I hate, is when you have to ride Aggro in tight places... He usually doesn't respond to how you control him. But even that I can deal with... I really don't know...

I have many favourite games so I will just go with Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy now.

I dislike total lack of balance between combat with dual sabers and double-bladed lightsaber. The second one is incredibly OP taking down most enemies in seconds and breaking through defences without slightest problems. Game is pretty much piece a cake if You decide to choose it.

Dual sabers seem to be weaker thus if I decide to choose them I have to expect challenging combat with enemies when compared to what happens when I put my hands on saber staff. Combos are a lot weaker and less useful, saberthrow can be done with double bladed lightsaber and You get an ability to kick enemy as well. Also dual sabers seem to have it harder to strike enemy unless You perform combos.

Well, I also find combos that require You to crouch ridiculous. Because it simply looks silly when You want to do them, besides in multiplayer it also pretty much sells You out so enemy can avoid You before You try to strike him.

well this is just a generalization to many video games but i hate when a game makes a woman seem worthless (i'm looking at resident evil 4 as an example) it would be great to see some games where a female character that is not a sex object and sexy actually can fight and has a great character personality (like mirror's edge)

Long loading times can be fairly annoying, like when I was playing Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Tag Force 4 or Wipeout 2048 for the first time. I got used to them, but the loading times were annoying.

Speaking of Tag Force 4, I really hated how in the later stages when you fight the character's hardest decks they seem to have an innate ability to draw nearly all the good cards they need, which means I have to restart over and over again if I'm doing someone's story.

Also, I like the F-Zero series in general, but I can't stand the Rubberbanding AI, especially in the original and N64 versions. I hate it how I get a lead, but the AI magically speeds up and overtakes me because they don't have good enough driving skills and instead resort to cheating.

I found this list on this blog.  She is/was trying to put together a list of Strong and not slutty female playable characters that are the main playable protagonist.  I would check it out.

For a recommendation I'm currently playing Remember Me.  Girl kicks but while trying to recover her lost memories.  It's on consoles and PC.  Metroid series is always a good choice as well.  I think the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games do a good job as well.  You have to intentionally install mods to slut out the females in those games.

I hate the rubber banding of Mario Kart games and any game that adds an escort mission.  Especially when the person your escorting keeps running towards the bad guys and ends up dying in the crossfire.

My favorite game ever: Spyro the Dragon, and it's various sequels.

The thing I hate most about it: It's a collect-a-thon. My patience for that type of gameplay wore thin, and I'm glad it has largely been abandoned in many games these days. I mean I gave myself many headaches looking for all of those freakin' gems.

I still love the game regardless of that. <3

majority of the games I play are open world shooter, the only thing I find annoying about them is when your constantly getting harassed by enemies chasing you down its fun at first but when you want to do a simple mission and you get chased by something it can get rather annoying especially if they manage to kill you because then its up to auto save to determine how far back it will take you or in other games appear in a safe zone far from where you want to be

X-COM: UFO Defense (that's the older ~1994 game, not the newer one, for those who aren't aware). Love the game, hate some of the enemies.

Ethereals, and Chrysalids. Those motherfuckers are the biggest pain in the ass to deal with. Ethereals have psionic powers, and they can mess with your soldier's minds, from anywhere on the map. Even behind over 9000 different obstructions (at least as far as I'm aware, though OpenXcom does have an option to make it line-of-fire only). What's worse, is that for some reason I tend to start seeing them waaay too early in the game, though maybe that's just bad luck. Either way, hate 'em.

As for Chrysalids, those guys ... they have the ability to zombify your solders, which wouldn't be so bad, if they didn't also have the capability of running from one side of the map to the other in one turn (slight exaggeration), seriously, they have twice as many turn units as my average soldier! So many times, have I lost multiple guys to one Chrysalid who I could have sworn was far enough away to not pose a great threat. I just ... I can't seem to win against them, unless I happen to get really lucky. x_x

Still love the game though.
