  1. So True I just checked out Comixology. IDW publishing is one of the DRM free publishers. Physical still better but I think I'll keep up with buying digital copies there.
  2. Just made my purchase. Totally worth the price. I always like physical over digital but as long as it's DRM free digital is fine. Thank Celestia for Humble Bundle!
  3. Just picked up the MLP Humble Bundle :Dhttps://www.humblebundle.com/books

yes as long as its one of the models that has the color screen. The e-Ink (B&W ones) wont work. Just need a usb cable to transfer from your PC to the kindle. As a tech nerd I would say depending on your budget get a Galaxy Tab or other Android tablet over the kindle. More features and you can still load the kindle app if you want to buy books from amazon. I only have a kindle cause I won it at a science conference.

  4. I found this list on this blog. She is/was trying to put together a list of Strong and not slutty female playable characters that are the main playable protagonist. I would check it out. For a recommendation I'm currently playing Remember Me. Girl kicks but while trying to recover her lost memories. It's on consoles and PC. Metroid series is always a good choice as well. I think the Elder Scrolls and Fallout games do a good job as well. You have to intentionally install mods to slut out the females in those games. I hate the rubber banding of Mario Kart games and any game that adds an escort mission. Especially when the person your escorting keeps running towards the bad guys and ends up dying in the crossfire.
  5. Microsoft never admits mistakes. I don't know all the details but I read on a tech website that the reason they are calling it Win10 instead of Win9 is because of poorly written code. There are a lot of programs that check compatibility by looking to see if the windows version is Win9 (as in Windows 95/98) or better. This causing alot of problems when trying to install and run those old programs. So to keep compatibility they had to skip 9 and go to 10. And apparently it wasn't just third party programs that did that, MS official programs do as well. There's apparently better ways they could have done that check but lazy programmers went with that. And just like the Y2K bug, time has caught up to crappy code writing.
  6. Got a desktop I built in June and a laptop I got bought prebuilt 4 or 5 years ago. I really like to mod my games (especially graphics upgrades) so the laptop just couldn't cut it anymore. This rig should hold me over for a few years. That was awesome :) Might've rewatched the Nightmare Night episode, but that gave me my fill :D

  8. My story is in my profile but I'll repost here. I got my name because of a rant about modern game design. My buddy, sitting a few feet away, sent this pic to my phone during my rant. So Cloud Yeller was born. I decided it made a good MLP name so I use this name in my online pony pursuits.
  9. While I'm a grey mane, if I'm wearing a hat I can still occasionally get carded for R movies, and I'm always carded for beer if my grey is not showing. I suck at judging ages too. So I understand what your going through. People not familiar with the fandom could get the wrong idea, so I definitely avoid the target audience as well. I wouldn't mind teenagers as long as I wasn't the only adult fan in the room. Been hoping to meet some 21+ Bronies so we could discuss the show over a real Hard Cider
  10. Being 35, can't say I'm creeped out about myself I do get worried that if I was to try to go to a brony hangout where most folks were under 18 that I would creep them out (especially their parents). Which is weird cause I'm a trekkie, a gamer, and just an all around general nerd/geek. If the hangout was about just about any other topic I wouldn't feel any worry. The comments so far in this thread give me hope that I wouldn't automatically be seen as creepy if I happen to be the oldest Brony in the room.
  11. I thought Equstria was more than one continent, so I would assume that the Zebra's are on another continent. The Daring Do books have her going to places not on the maps you linked to so there have to be more areas.
  12. I always saw them as an acrobatics group like the Blue Angels, not a fighting outfit. Due to the lack of warfare the military seems to consist of the royal guard. That force is like the Swiss Guard of the Pope. Technically military trained but are not really there to fight a full scale war. Now if they wanted to use pegasi for an air force they could do a lot of weather manipulation for attacks. They can fly at fast speeds makes tornados, or force the clouds to rain to muddy the roads to slow travel and shoot lightning bolts as attacks. They can engage in hoof to hoof combat of other aerial units as well. But from the way everything is portrayed in the show, there really isn't a full military, just a small Honor Guard for the Princesses.
  13. I use this for my main ring tone. I set special ones for my friends based on their personalities.
  14. Digimon. Everyone is so worked up by Pokemon. Digimon had a way better story (Seasons 1-3 at least), more interesting characters and a real adventure. Pokemon is just slavery and dog fighting mixed with an OCD compulsion for "catching them all".
  15. Hope everyone had a better start to their week than I did.

  16. Bad News: Just got home from spending 12 hours at ER for chest pains. Good News: It's not a heart attack, just really bad muscle spasms.

      Well, is everything alright though?

Well, I'd believe so... I would be scared too ^-^''

  17. I'm 35. I wear nerd/geek/gaming/pony shirts as my regular wardrobe, even at work (Laboratories kick ass ). I go to cons regularly with my friends who range in age from 19 to 57. Some of us even cosplay. The only thing that has changed about me since becoming an adult is I make sure the mortgage is paid before I indulge in my hobbies. It really sounds like your hanging out with the wrong people, and while most jobs might require a suit and tie type attire, what you wear after work is none of their damn business. As far as your dating life goes, financial stability is good for everyone no matter what but any one who looks at your wallet before they decide to go out with you is just bad news. Owning a car is not a necessity either. I came from a poor family so we took the bus or rode bikes wherever we needed to go. I even dated and then married the love of my life without ever owning a car. I think being older does make you more free as no one can stop you from being yourself. The only person that can hold you back is you. So wear your cartoon clothes, raise you head high and tell the haters to buck off.
  18. Of course it's special. You made it for a friend and I've been told by a very reliable source that friendship is magic. Keep posting your drawings. They make me smile
  19. Celebrated a friends birthday yesterday. This is me right now. http://goo.gl/4MAEhm

  20. Looks great to me. You should post more of your drawings.
  21. This scenario like all others that deprive liberty to all needs to follow the progression of the 4 boxes of liberty. Soap Box Ballot Box Jury Box Ammo Box This is why, for the USA at least, our Constitution gives individuals the right to own weapons. It's really difficult to bring tyranny against an armed population. Even pony lovers. Even if I wasn't a Brony I would fight for those who are being oppressed.
  22. I'm with Andaasonsan, I'm here for the ponies. I don't think the majority are here because of the Anti-Bronies. There are many shows with big followings. Those fans make music, art, write fan fics and they do it all because they love their show and their community not because others don't like them and their show. I don't think the Brony community is any different.
  23. Check out the State of the Herd report. They break things down by gender (including trans), marital status, country of origin, military service, etc. I'd recommend giving it a read. As for the thread topic, girls outside the target demographic are overlooked by the media/society as it's not considered weird for a girl of any age to like bright colors and ponies. Society is much more tolerant of girls liking "manly" things than of boys liking "girly" things.
  24. Hello Panda is crack. Must resist urge to eat whole box.

  25. I've lost my twitch speed over the years. I used to be able to play the old NES games with ease. Now anything that requires microsecond reflexes is just annoying and unplayable for me. I mostly play turn based RPG's and exploration/open world games. Being good at all types of games is probably not going to happen for anyone. I wouldn't worry so much about it. "Am I having fun?" is the only question you need to ask when playing a game. If the answer is Yes, then keep playing, even if you never beat the game. If the answer is No, then find a different game.
