Error in the story book

Looks like Adagio is red in the storybook instead of Orange like she really is.

Well, it's no guarantee that the books describing old legends in the show/movie will be accurate with the reality as shown in the show/movie.

Orange dye may not have been discovered or readily available at the time. Then again, If I were to sample that ... it is likely not red. Just like Rarity isn't white.

I suppose there is a possibility that Adagio turns Orange when in the Humanverse. Though its far more likely this was just a mistake.

 

But what caused the mistake then? Was this storybook part made before the design for Adagio was made and then they never recolored it? Or maybe Adagio was originally planned to be Red?

Maybe they used the dolls as a model to describe them. At least Adagio doll has more red than in the movie

Maybe it is just the fading of the book which shows aging over time and that is why orange looks redish and teal is a little greenish and the animators did that on purpose for effect

Maybe the ink changed over a thousand years. Maybe Starswirl the Bearded has bad color vision.
