Arrlong28 789 September 14 Share September 14 I wanted to play the guitar (Spanish, American and electric) and I did it! Since 2015 I'm learning to play guitar, lot's of chords and my best scale: The Pentatonic Scale, Major and Minor. My repertoire is VERY limited... one of the songs I know is the last one of MLP: The Magic of Friendship Grows. I play a bit of traditional catalan songs with the Spanish Guitar; Bluegrass, Blues and in the future French Jazz with my Dobro, and mostly Blues and Hard Rock with my Electric one. (I want to learn how to play funk and... old 80's Mature Music If you know what I mean...). The Guitar is the Queen of all the Instruments. Everybody can play it in any situation: Casual, folk or high Class refined. It's portable, can be very cheap or very expensive... The thing is that when I play my dobro or my american guitar (you call it "Acoustic Guitar") here in southern Europe is very exotic 'cause the "folk" choice that everybody has in their homes is the Nylon String guitar. --------------------- I encourage you to learn every instrument you want: don't Fear! Just play 10 minutes or 15 minutes everyday, search for a good instructor, record your progress so you realize you're growing as a musician and very important: Make friends who also play some instruments. You'll work your personality; make other happy and then yo will be happy. Actually I wish to make some social work with an association called "Musicians for Health" who are volunteer musicians who play in hospitals here in Spain. (Sadly, my repertoire is very very limited). You don't know where you're going learning how to play music and speak with your own voice. Go for it!

Spot on advice for someone looking to start as a musician. It’s always great to start with small goals and grow. I hope one day that you are able to create that organization! I’m sure you will make a lot of people smile. I wish you the best :3 As for me - I would love to learn how to play the guitar too. Just to play all kinds of genres of music. I used to play saxophone for years and learned some piano back in college.

Sorry, for my broken english in the other post.

Or maybe you could contact them that you are interested in joining?
Arrlong28 789 October 31 Share October 31 Necromancy is Magic! This is my favourite guitar and it's another dream I achieved, aside from black painted walls Haha. A chinese Bronze dobro. You need to understand that this kind of guitars in Southern Europe are Very Very rare. Almost nobody has seen this kind of guitars, because the common guitar that everybody has at home is a Spanish Nylon Guitar. I call her "Guitarra de Chatarra" that means "Guitar made of Junk". I call it that 'cause one day playing in a park, some gypsies saw me playing with the guitar and they just flabergasted... And call it like that. Of course they tried to play flamenco, but wheigths too much and the steel strings made almost imposible to play flamenco, as they said "If I play flamenco with this guitar my fingers going to turn into meatballs". I wanted to play bluegrass with her, but the other Jammers didn't like the sound. Same with French Jazz... I try to learn by myself French Jazz but it's a bit difficult. If you want to learn to play music I encourage you to just do it. Even if (like me) you're afraid of playing in front of people. 1
ComanderZhabikKlavik 3,001 November 3 Share November 3 I wrote last time that I would like to learn to play the piano, I am not against learning it. But my favorite musical instrument is the Pipe organ. I would like to play a large organ, for example, the Wanamaker Organ or this Spoiler That looks amazing! I would also like to learn to play the lyre and kalimba. (Maybe I'll be able to buy a kalimba soon.) 1 T-90 tank
Crash_xox 299 November 4 Share November 4 I play classical guitar, I used to play piano as a kid but I've forgotten it, lol. But I'd love to learn electric guitar, it sounds so cool

But I'd love to learn electric guitar, it sounds so cool If you play Classical Guitar you can definitely play electric guitar! The technique is different 'cause you can play with fingers, pick or slap. The tension of the strings is different 'cause the steel. But aside that and knowing how the electronics work... You can do Amazing things. Also, there's improvisation. If you're a classical player maybe improvisation can be a bit challenging at first. But I know some Jazz players that use Flamenco guitars and improvise, even with a pick. (Flamenco Guitars have action very low, so it's easy to play chords and they have a "buzz" very appreciated in flamenco). I encourage you to learn electric guitar!
Rock-O-Jello 216 November 4 Share November 4 Bass guitar. I'm learning how to play the harmonica first, though. 1 1 Lol ponies
DebonedAngel 196 November 4 Share November 4 I very much wanted to learn the theremin, but unfortunately I am fully tone-deaf, and I can't pick notes apart or really tell the difference between them by ear, so no matter how much I practiced, it was just a muddled mess. 1
Administrator Sir Hugsalot 9,348 November 11 Administrator Share November 11 I already play the guitar, but other instrument I really hope to learn eventually would be piano/keyboard. I love versatility of it and I think it would really enhance my songwriting, since it's a wonderful choice for learning music theory. Additionally, some of the most beautiful, atmospheric music I know was made with significant usage of keyboard, so it would help me with achieving the sound I am aiming for 1 1 As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person. EpicEnergy 23,218 November 18 Share November 18 I never really wanted to play an instrument, they just don't seem like my cup of tea. If I was to ever try one though, I might go for guitar. Maybe sometime or another I'll give an instrument a try, but I have other interests I'm pursuing at the moment like computer coding, exercise, video games, and such. 1 *totally not up to any shenanigans*
