SrFrog 927 April 4, 2012 Share April 4, 2012 Right, so if you have not heard Arizona is on the verge of outlawing trolling. Have some info: Arizona House Bill 2549 "It is unlawful for any person, with intent to terrify, intimidate, threaten, harass, annoy or offend, to use ANY ELECTRONIC OR DIGITAL DEVICE and use any obscene, lewd or profane language or suggest any lewd or lascivious act, or threaten to inflict physical harm to the person or property of any person." You might say to yourself. There is just no way this will pass, right? Wrong, the only thing left to do for this law to go pass is for Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to approve it. Keep in mind that Arizona has recently passed other harsh laws recently. So Conundrums? Questions? or Opinions on the matter? Rainbow_Crash 92 April 4, 2012 Share April 4, 2012 haha that is going to have some funny results especially since its only on an area of the world... Now i wonder, how exactly they ll be able to stop old style trolling since its just tricking someone into an argument that you ll never stop supporting logically xD Opinions? Those type of rules just make people weaker and dependable to the system so they wont be able to get away from it since its going to be really scary outside...woooooh!! Yep lets make everyone weaker so they will be offended by whatevver they see on the internet and need rules and official barriers to protect them sigh....
Key Gear 6,663 April 4, 2012 Share April 4, 2012 Well..... I try to be really nice on MLP Forums, but an alternate dimension version of myself may or may not occasionally pop over to ponychan to troll them pretty horribly every once in a blue moon.......... Great. Just great. So, if this law passes and I happen to offend someone that just happens to live in Arizona, then I may get dragged into court in Arizona. My opinion? I think that all lawmakers in the U.S. should be forced to take at least 4 college classes about the Internet before they write any more laws about something that they obviously do not understand.
Klopp 2,050 April 4, 2012 Share April 4, 2012 I live in Arizona... Good thing only people who I terrify, intimidate, threaten, harass, annoy or offend live outside of the state Arizona is on a grand streak of ridiculous law, such as outlawing the use of swearwords in k-12 schools, for both students and instructors. The instructors will lose a whole paycheck if they violate it once, and be canned the second. Much fun going on

I mean, if you're studying on your own on the school grounds you could swear under your breath to your hearts content... Arizona sounds like a weird place to live, seeing as they're trying to restrict people's free will... Cursing should be allowed in the secondary school (high school) because everyone has heard it by then! Sure, in the younger grades you could ban it, but shouldn't the school be the one to decide that sort of thing? 1 I am prone to leaving both short and long posts as well as with my profile feed... Sepia-chan 495 April 4, 2012 Share April 4, 2012 (edited) Sucks to be in Arizona. I myself enjoy a nice trolling session. On the law itself, I think it's friggin' ridiculous. How could they do that? They're pretty much taking away 1st Amendment. I fear the future of America. Edited April 4, 2012 by Dusk Eninama Objection! Hold it! Take that! Gotcha! Eureka! I like video games and anime. Klopp 2,050 April 4, 2012 Share April 4, 2012 but as i hear the second amendment is highly respected there Respected? It goes beyond that, it is completely abused. You can buy a gun here as long as you are not an absolute murderer, and even then, someone can buy it for you and give it to you without a problem. Guns are sold freely, without much regulation, and in public places with no paperwork to be signed. Unless bought from a proper retailer, which is often not the case, you could be buying a gun used in an actual murder, and not know it til the police show up at your door asking about it. Another thing to add on this, there was a man who came into the Wal-Mart store I work in and accidentally fired a rifle, Don't ask me how, but it happened. If for whatever reason you do not believe me, I can easily nab a picture of the bullet hole tomorrow... I think it's still there anyways >.> But whatever the case, gun regulations are far too loose here, and some people need to have theirs taken away. LMW-YBC 102 April 4, 2012 Share April 4, 2012 I'm actually against Trolling, but I do sort of disagree with this law. Yes, it isn't very nice to Troll people, but it isn't bad enough to be restricted IMO. Scotland is starting to get some strange laws, like being caught with a knife outside can get you upto 4 years in prison. It is right, but why is it happening just now and not say 5 years ago? Bunni 1,075 April 4, 2012 Share April 4, 2012 Yeah, there's no way they're gonna catch alot of people with that. Only the people who are clueless about PC's and stuff. The rest is probably safe. Catching trolls on the internet (especially worldwide) is nearly, if not impossible if they are smart enough to remove everything that can trace back to them specifically. But again this is just in Arizona, so anyone across the world can troll anyone living there and get away with it. Now I'm not saying everyone in Arizona is a dumb troll but the ones that are will probably get punished or refuse to fight back against trolls across the world. Interesting x)
