MLP on South Park

I'd love to see a South Park episode about MLP, it would be (hopefully) very funny and we could all laugh at the types of fans and tropes it would play on (unless we were those types of fans ourselves). But, I think if they were going to do it they would've done it by now. South Park episodes are made on a week to week basis (writing, animation, everything) so they generally come up with ideas for episodes for things that have happened in the last week. Only way I could see it happening is when the movie comes out, or perhaps one of the writers' kids or friends starts watching the show so they'll be like, "My son/buddy just started watching my little pony, isn't that weird? Do you think he's gay?"

If it does happen I'd like the plot to involve all the fathers in south park becoming bronies and the kids getting upset about it (and maybe Cartman uses it to his advantage).

No matter how hard I try these ponies will simply never leave me.

Kind of hard to say. I'm surprised South Park hasn't done anything on bronies already.

Yes me too. I wonder what they are waiting for? It's been several years that the brony fandom exists, and it's typically what they like to criticize...

I'm all for seeing an MLP-themed episode. I think it would be very funny since they'll probably make fun of everyone and make the events so absurd that no one can take it seriously.

Unless they have Butters turn into a brony  That would actually be pretty cool lol

I can just imagine his parents grounding him for being a brony.

Only two outcomes would come of this...

1. A massive swarm of fragile bronies, who can't take a joke, flooding everything and throwing whiny fits about South Park making fun of them, even though it's not to be taken seriously.

2. The people who hate MLP will riot, or bitch and whine about "south park being ruined by ponies!", etc...

I think it's funny to watch anti bronies bitch, so I hope it happens the way CC_maud_pie says.

because let's be honest here, does anybrony really care what the haters say? o3o

but them portraying MLP in a bad way is likely, even if they end the episode with every one learning not to judge people based on a show they watch. it's what they do.

and people will need to take a joke. they probably won't though.

It'll probably happen since this show's getting recognized and the brony community is growing. I'll see Cartman and the adults hating on it and forming an anti-brony organization. Kyle and Stan will feel disgusted about bronies at first, but then they'll end up watching it and liking it with either one of them making a statement defending bronies. That's my ideal episode.

I highly doubt that #mattstone or #treyparker even know of bronies. Most people 30+ have no idea, even if they are well connected on the internet.

But then again if their hashtagged names show up in this thread, it might come up in a google search. :P

Maybe sending requests to them could help ;).

I've never liked South Park. Really...it just seems like a show just to humiliate a certain group of people. Sad if you ask me...I kinda wish it was done already because it's been very stale...

I'm just as surprised as everyone else that it hasn't been done. They've poked fun at Scientology, even though there was a risk of them getting sued. They also joked about showing the Prophet Muhammed, although Comedy Central decided to censor him since they were receiving death threats (although Parker and Stone wanted to do it regardless of the death threats). It's clear that they aren't concerned about the controversey they'll receive. I think the worst that would happen is there'd be flame wars that wouldn't directly involve Parker and Stone. It may take another season though since I think the theme of the current season is political correctness. Unless they find some way to fit bronies into the subject of political correctness (maybe a breif mention if they joke about Tumblr or 4Chan (opposite ends of the spectrum)) They've usually poked fun at both sides when talking about certain issues (give or take a few episodes), so I could see them showing the crazy bronies and the crazy anti-bronies.

@@Trixie Heartstrings: You're right that political correctness isn't strong in the Brony fandom and I hope it stays that way, but about the Steven Universe fandom..... The zamii070 case would be an interesting story for the creators. An artist who paint really good and got a hate mob of SU fans driving her into suïcide, only because her paintings diver a little bit from the series. The SU creators defended her and the same hate mob went against them. Enough material for a South Park episode.

I don't think at this point that they'd bother with an episode about us, since we're not as "current" as we used to be and South Park seems to prefer to talk about pop culture when it's very in-the-moment. I would be curious to see what they decide to do with it though, since they might just be smart enough to present something that isn't so... well, so CollegeHumor (with a name like that though, would you really expect intelligence from them?)

The reactions would definitely be interesting to see though. I wonder if we'd get a repeat of the reactions to the Bob's Burgers episode that parodied us, which as far as I could tell went something like this -

Bronies: "Hmm, that was actually pretty good. Not great, but it had it's funny moments."

Anti-Bronies: "LOL LOOK AT THE PATHETIC MANCHILD BRONIES CRYING THEIR SAD BRONY TEARS CAUSE THEY GOT MADE FUN OF LOOLLLLLLLLLLLL!"

(I mean obviously the anti-brony sentiment contained a lot more slurs and offensive language than that but I don't intend to stoop that low here)

There will probably never be and official episode because Matt and Trey really don't give a damn about bronies. It's been 5 years since bronies became a thing, they try to make the show based upon relevant stuff. 5 years down the road? Bronies are hardly relevant anymore to them.

I know MAD (show) and college humor (YouTube channel) have done it, so I'm surprised South Park hasn't already.

Don't forget about Bob's Burgers! Bob even goes full "Equestronaut" (their word for brony). It was a well done ep.

I'm not entirely sure South Park will make any mention of bronies.

The creators have said they don't like to talk about things that "are primarily Internet things", and they count furries as primarily Internet things. Bronies aren't really very different in principle.

Maybe after they made fun of all those weird groups they found bronies way too tame to be worthy enough to have their own episode. Remember if you were in South Park you know you're famous.

It's possible they won't ever mention bronies even after the end of MLP. This may seem to others that we dodged a bullet and for others it might be a shame but in any case this can happen.
