MLPFIM Fighting Game. Bring back Fighting Is Magic. And upload a video of whoever nonlethally ordered that Cease and Desist Letter to be nonlethally slapped with a wet fish. A big fish, like a Bass or something.

Pretty much this right here. To be fair the fish thing is just a bonus.

For me, myself, I would canonize some of my fave shippings

But personally I would just like them to give more info on the elements of harmony and that weird chest thing.

I would also be really scared to do anything, because I could just add more to their problem.

Also, after the guy is slapped with a fish, a Vinyl Scratch cosplayer runs onscreen, snatches it away, and then she drops it.

D-D-D-D-D-D-D-DROP THE BASS.

Canonise TwiShy, and I'll forgive them for murder.

Seriously though, it'd be nice for them to give a lesbian/bisexual couple as an example for kids- to show them that there's nothing wrong with swinging that way and all :squee:

My headcanon would be very happy if Princess Celestia were to ask Twilight for her hoof in marriage.  Not as Molestia or anything nasty. I just think Twilight would say yes. It's kind of obvious Twilight loves her mentor.

Respect the characters and respect the fanbase, regardless of who they may include.

This may not be the answer you're looking for and it may be overly vague and broad but I expect Hasbro to uphold that standard, just as I would any show. Don't flanderize characters and morals for the sake of pandering and trying to up ratings and profits.

Do you want to know why I disliked and still do dislike Alicorn Twilight so much? It doesn't show respect to Twilight Sparkle or the fanbase, at least not how it was initially executed it wasn't. It was crude, sloppy, and a means to try to appeal to "little girls" via a princess role model that would draw supposed large profits via toy and merchandise revenues.

No I am not talking about the bronies. We're just 1 of several many aspects the show has evolved to incorporate. It shows a disrespect to little girls and their parents and family. For the love of decency and all that's good, please just show some respect to the characters and their fans.

Make a good faith effort to do that Hasbro, as you did in Season 4, and that's all I will ask from you.

How minor are bronies?  Maybe the traditional fanbase is bigger, but they'll grow up and perhaps move on to something else while we'll be the lifelong cash cow.  I only wish they would just continue making quality episodes and content forever!  They need to think beyond just the toys.  There's much more money to be made here.

A funny thing about little girls is that there will always be more of them. Hasbro's not trying to create long-term pony fans as far as the kids go. Little girls will grow out of their ponies, but there will be more newcomers to take their place. Once that gravy train stops chugging and FiM isn't cool anymore, Hasbro will end it, maybe wait a few years, and revamp MLP's image (new generation). They can't rely on bronies as much as they can their target demographic. Bronies are fickle and probably already had their big boom. Bronies won't reliably replenish the way they believe little girls will. Hasbro owes us nothing.

I disagree about Princess Twilight. I was all for her arising and completely love her as Equestria's newest princess. Magical Mystery Cure was a bit rushed though, It should have been two parts, but I was happy with it. The show, in my opinion, was heading this way right from the start. Show accurate Princess Twilight figures from Hasbro would be a wonderful gift from them.

Not all little girls grow out of ponies. This 35 year old little girl shows no sign of doing that.

You actually make a good point.  I wouldn't say they owe us absolutely nothing, but there probably needs to be a lot more bronies over the long term in order to make a serious impact on Hasbro.  It really depends on if there is long term consistency in the number of bronies, and how many it takes to sustain the show.  I imagine Hasbro's reaction to bronies is one of benign indifference.

Some how in simple terms the poll of: Hasbro cannot press any legal action on fan projects.  Would

be a good thing! Long as its not all blood and gore and death ponies,  I dont see anything with

the fandom stuff even when they use ocs...

Sadly, the main issue with that is, well, not many shows are actually allowed to get away with that. Or, if they plan to make it happen, the ideas are scrapped by others/editors in hopes of keeping the shows going, as going against the directives given to them could have the show cancelled. It really is a large shame, and even though it'd be a nice touch to the show, depending on the situations, it could risk Friendship is Magic being cancelled. :/ It really takes away possible examples to help people feel accepted.

The only problem with that is you know the parents of the kids are going to rage about it.. Same reason they had a recall on derpy's voice.  >_>  They're way too protective these days. And as long as there are people like that, I feel like mlp is being held back from its true potential.

I just do not like the idea of Hasbro needing to "make it up to us" if something upset the brony fandom? Why do they have to pander to us? Can't we just not take something too seriously and enjoy what we have?

Besides, they own the property. They have been extremely good to bronies as a whole, so I prefer us to be a little more appreciative than the other way around.

Hasbro is a giant multinational corporation corporation that answers only to their stockholders.

Were they to piss Bronies off to the point that it affected toy sales, they would most likely cut either their losses and cancel the show, or rework it to be as appealing to their target demographic as possible.

That said, Hasbro has acknowledged the fandom, albeit in a way designed to bring in more money.

By licensing Funko and Shapeways to make MLP products, they are acknowledging the fandom's requests for high-quality show accurate merchandise.

In fact, the Hasbro website has a link to Shapeways, with the tagline "DESIGNED BY FANS."

As far as I'm concerned, letting Bronies design official MLP merch is a pretty big deal in and of itself.

This should mean that they are indifferent to how they make their profit.  Pragmatically, they should at least try not upset us because it will, in some form or fashion, hurt their bottom line, even if it's just pennies.  They make more money with us, than without us.  They would only lessen the money/interest they get from bronies if it results in a greater gain from target demographic.

I think that unless our interests are diametrically opposed to the target demographic, I think they would try to reverse the situation to something that would please both if they could.  Why would they just throw away our dollars and passion for the show for no good reason?

I'm assuming of course that Hasbro is a rational actor.

I definitely agree that Twilight was "destined" ugh  :eww: I hate that word, to become princess eventually, but I disagree with how the show approached it. We barely had a chance to start knowing Twilight for 2.5 seasons and Hasbro and co already wanted to glue wings onto your back with a pretty crown, not because she deserved it, but because it would be a convenient way to cash in on her.

I am not saying that post MMC, Twilight was a bad character. By all accounts the writers did a great job transitioning. Yet still, her character often seemed forced in Season 4, and it became more about "Twilight saving the world" as Alicorn Princess rather than us getting to see other sides of her. The other Mane 6 don't have to deal with what Twilight does because they can be who they are and develop just fine.

Twilight now has to deal with developing and defining herself both as a Princess and as an individual, and I still often question whether the show can achieve that even halfway.

Also there's this version of Alicorn Twilight:

Changeling Twilight much?  :o Also the sparkles on her head are entirely unneeded blech and of course, the eyes never seem to match the show. May work fine for Rarity and Fluttershy, but those cutesy creepy eyes do Rainbow Dash, Applejack and Pinkie a disservice.

I would have liked it if we could have more time to see her evolve.  I don't doubt that becoming an alicorn or a princess was plausibly in her destiny, but she leveled up too quickly.

We have seen different aspects of her personality. We now know she's a bit of a piggy while eating fast food. I smiled when she wiped her face with a hayburger and then ate it. She's still developing, and uncertain of herself in season four, but overcoming it to become stronger and more of a leader. I see that as character development.

Now as to that eyesore above. Yikes! Did the toy designers even look at any character design sheets from the show? WTF?

(What the freak...no implied swearing!)

I would also like the fanfic On A Cross and Arrow to become a movie, with some of the not little-kid friendly parts edited out.

If they were to cancel the show prematurely, they would have a huge international riot on their hands. We will riot in the streets, possibly burn down Hasbro studios. At least, that's what I would do.

Some of these choices are interesting, but the one I could not see Hasbro doing would be to not take legal action on a fan project. If it crosses a certain line, they have every right to take it down.

I think the crossover with another Hasbro brand sounds the most interesting and the most achievable.

Heck, Hasbro apologizing with a sorry would be good enough for me.

  • 2 weeks later...

As much as I like certain fan content, I wouldn't want any of it, not even my own, to influence the creative process of making FiM. I'd much rather they made all the toys show accurate because quite frankly most toys are still every bit as hideous as they were before G4 came around.
