gaming My little sister is a freaking badass (minecraft)

I'm teaching my 10 year old sister how to play minecraft. This is the first real game she's ever played (because neopets doesn't count).

 

Anyway, I started her out on peaceful, taught her a few basics, the controls, how to break and place blocks, and a few simple crafting recipes before I had to go to work.

 

I come home and she has a 40x40 area (approximately) cleared out, with a large 3 story cobble stone house. She has a a large chest full of nothing but cobble and iron ore. She has another large chest with a bunch of coal, a few stacks of wood, some sapling and seeds, a ton of torches, and some other random stuff. She has a room in the house full of chickens (I didn't tell her anything about chickens other than that when you throw an egg, sometimes it will hatch a chicken. She had the idea to farm them herself.) She has stairs that go down into a ravine (apparently, she fell in and dug herself back up, then went back down to mine.) She has a few bridges over the ravine. She has an orchard. She has a flower garden.

She's ten. She had been playing for a few hours at that point. This is her first video game. I was thinking, damn she's way better than I was at first.

 

The next day, I taught her a few more crafting recipes, as well as about how some ores require a certain pickaxe to mine, stuff like that. I had to leave for work again. I come back and she has more ore, including quite a bit of gold. She found a pink sheep (I still haven't found one), and she had quite an encounter with a pack of wolves...

 

She sees a wolf and thinks "hey, that thing is moving, I'm going to kill it" because that's how she plays minecraft. So she punches the wolf, and then the pack attacks her. She starts freaking out and is taking a fair bit of damage. So she runs and jumps into a largish hole that she had dug earlier when she found some surface ore. The wolves follow here, and she quickly climbs back out and lays down a layer of cobble, trapping the wolves under ground. And then she went and punched out the final wolf who hadn't fallen in with the rest.

 

When she starts playing on higher difficulties, I won't be scared for her, I'll be scared for the creepers.

I love minecraft. One of the things that I love the most about it is stories like these. How many other games do you know of that can allow a ten year old to be so awesome? She punched out a wolf? THAT IS HARDCORE.

 

Dude, you must be pretty good at teaching how to play minecraft, and your sister must have some kind of natural talent with these types of things. Her first game you say? (No, neopets does not count.) Oh wow... Just imagine her playing a fighting game.....

@lemoncloud: It's not a contest. Evilshy's proud of his little sister, and with good reason. Even if it was peaceful mode, a lot of what he described is very good for someone playing their first real game. I can't say if you were better or not since you give no stories of your accomplishments. But it's not a matter of who is better or worse. It's still an accomplishment and something to be proud of. Just as I'm sure you're proud of your accomplishments.

He's pretty good too, he actually plays on survival and builds decent looking houses... I was expecting all of his worlds to be on creative mode

Give her Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 for Xbox. We could use talent like that. We could use a good stealth player. I am a gunner/assault and my friend is a sniper. A good flanker is all we need to dominate any match. She should probably use the silenced ump until she gets the mp7.
