Best "Hater" Conversation Ever!

Namename.

@, yes but that is generally in more extreme cases. People are driven to suicide not by someone randomly online telling you to kill yourself in a passing conversation where you're also biting them back--it's generally when someone cruel online or in your school beings to stalk you online, bash you constantly, and start smearing your name everywhere you go or where you hold image to be important. That is where it becomes inescapable, and extremist to the point of losing any sympathy or understanding for their position. A trolling comment in the far corners of ifunny isn't that.  :( He hasn't proven himself to be someone in it to legitimately hurt someone, so far the only thing that's for sure is that he likes getting a response, or amuses himself by goating people on. Succeeding in getting someone to try to kill themselves takes commitment to making their life heck that I don't see yet.

I'm not saying telling someone to kill themselves isn't a joking matter. It's not. It's horrible. But I can't convince myself what he has done is comparable to those people who actually drive people to suicide.

Ok. That was pretty funny. Mostly because the other guy reached a point where he actually seemed to get mad and started spewing angry things. Cuz at first it seemed like he knew what you were doing, but it looks like you got under his skin.

One of my favorites was this one on an anti-brony facebook page and a pic of a boy with a derpy plush that his dad had bought and a comment said...

HOyuqQEh.jpg

And then someone replied with

fPQOdLPh.jpg

Idk. It just cracked me up cuz it's like, yeah, haha. It used to be a kids show and now its child abuse. Heaven forbid they become a fan of something kids were always meant to be a fan of.

There's no reason for the cyberbully to spew the slurs or death threat, period. To perceive otherwise is misplacing the blame.

I really don't want to beat a dead horse, but...oooh, is that not a good phrase for these forums?

I really don't want to drag a pretty much harmless thread into a discussion of morality (there we go), but I believe in taking the high road in all of my adventures and that belief is one I don't mind expressing, quite loudly!

I agree with you; there is absolutely no justifying reason for him to do that. But nor is there a reason to mock "the cyberbully" (who is, fairly likely a child...perhaps bullied himself and attempts to pick on others online as a binkie? Not unheard of at all) for an angry online conversation.

The internet is full of hate. Some of that hate is poison and toxic and leads to very, very serious effects in real life and some of it is avoidable. If Joey felt attacked, if Joey felt like he was seriously in trouble, the ideal action (judging by his profile age), as well as the ideal action in real life, is to tell an adult to help the situation be dealt with properly. While I don't feel the situation was that dire, perhaps Joey did or perhaps those who witnessed the conversation did.

I have, and I will not, at any point say the bully is justified in very real threats. Judging by Joey's reaction, he is not really bothered by the severity of the situation and if he is (and you are reading this, Joey) should understand it is okay to voice if something truly made you upset and that there is most likely an adult in his life that will aid him - and if there is not, there is an entire community of people who take a liking to ponies available to aid him if he feels uncomfortable, myself included.

I just cannot support mocking anyone online or in real life, regardless of who the bully is.  :)

@@SFyr, It doesn't matter how many times the user has been trolled. All it takes is one comment from a troll to push the user to the limit. People have very raw emotions, and not everyone is logical. Each and everyone of us has his, her, or their limit. Me, you, the OP, everyone. The OP can take it because the troll is such a gigantic idiot, but not everyone can.

And it should be taken seriously when the troll recommended the OP to kill himself. There are victims who received very similar recommendations and followed up on it. Death threats/suggestions of suicide are no laughing matter, and they should be reported to not just the admins of the website, but local authorities, too. God forbid he gave a comment like this to someone who's mentally and emotionally unstable, and the victim becomes a statistic of bullycide.

Words hurt. The more people speak out against trolling of all forms, the better.

But I can't convince myself what he has done is comparable to those people who actually drive people to suicide.

I don't know if he did, but others had had similar comments from cyberbullies just like him, and that was enough to drive them over the edge.

@, I had wrote something to this, but honestly this whole exchange has probably gotten a bit too negative anyways.  ;) I personally believe in not encouraging negativity, so I really want to just wish everyone involved the best.

Suffice to say, I think it was only added after being somewhat provoked, and while being something that should never be slid in, no one took the ideal approach here. I hope the dude gets reported, but yeah, that's ideally the end of it.

Pony on, everyone. The fandom has a lot to offer that's not centered around the hate and criticism we sometimes get. ♥ There's a lot to love too.

@@SFyr, When it comes to cyberbullies like the "fake president," he deserves no other label, and there's no reason to respect him nor tolerate him. Thousands, if not millions, of people have attempted or succeeded to commit suicide because they can't get away from trolls/cyberbullies like the "fake president" no matter how much they ignore them.

You my friend, are the undisputed champion of this thread. Give yourself a pat on the back and a cookie, because you are a fabulous human being.

In truth, I find this manner of dealing with trolls to be, not the worst means of dealing with them, but certainly one that is childish and nonconstructive. However, there is no reason to ever, ever for never ever ever, use ableist slurs, threaten someone, or encourage them to commit suicide. In fact those last two are punishable by law, and frankly I wish the first one was as well. What I wouldn't give for a good slur tax or something...

It was not right for the responder to handle this in this manner, although I am glad that he at least shared their username with others so that they may perhaps protect themselves from his abuse. This person though, is not someone I am going to sympathize with. This is someone taking out their anger issues on an innocent stranger, mocking entire groups of innocent people, and attempting violence and murder on another human being (I don't care what anyone says, to me telling someone to commit suicide is attempted murder and should be seen as such), all because they wanted to be the big tough guy and act like they're better than everyone in a place where that has no consequences.

Sorry not sorry for being angry about this. It isn't "funny", it isn't "the best", this person isn't a joke or a fun toy, they're a violent angry person who needs a lot of help dealing with how violent and angry they are. Nothing about this is OK. Nothing.

This. I believe that respect and tolerance is earned. if you go around being a total jerkwad, You no deserve any respect or tolerance. Giving them that just lets them know that they can be as douchey as they want and they won't have an consequences.

I really want to bite my tongue, and I am so sorry for continuing. This poor sad horse o' mine.  :(

I am truly afraid for the time when aggression or cruelty is met with deprivation of all respect. People are people, no matter what act they have committed, no matter what they say. I have bad days. I have terrible days where I am cruel to those I love...I have days where I say things to people I know I should not say, but truly out of my own frustration. Those who I love understand me. Just because I am a "total jerkwad" to them in that one instance, I am still a person. Just because I disagree with some of you currently does not mean I will not see you post tomorrow and tell you how amazing your art/ideas are  :)

I know it is idealistic to believe in respect for everyone because not everyone believes in that. Treat everyone how you would like to be treated. We do not know the situation behind this bully and while his actions are not okay nor justified through his situation, mocking him in a similar manner on a forum he probably doesn't even know has that conversation on it is not justified action.

Everyone deserves respect. Everyone deserves patience. Everyone also deserves consequences for their action, but that is not ours to deal out; it is the legal authorities.

I wish I could think like that. But I'm too jaded from seeing just how terrible humans can be. I believe if you go off and do something (Just for example) Kill someone, you aren't a person, you are an animal, a monster that needs to be put down. Hater for example, I dont think that bad of them, but I certainly don't believe they deserve any respect if they aren't going to show any to others.

I really do respect that. Humans can be just as amazing as they can be terrible.

Alas, I am far too little in post count and courage to enter into the debate pit, so I must leave it at that!  ;)

And I respect your way of thinking as well. ^_^

Its a truley nice one that I wish everyone could have. The world would be such a better place. Unfortunately its not  :(

You'd be surprised how some of the murderers (and other offenders) in prison get there. While I strongly believe in just repercussions to your actions, I also believe in redeeming qualities and second chances earned by wising up to how much of a desperate fool past-you can be. It's... actually more sad than infuriating sometimes.  :( Ever watch the Scared Straight tv shows? Prisoners essentially volunteer to scare kids out of acting badly (yell/scream/pretend to be monsters and make them legitimately fear prison), then others will sit down with them, and tell them to respect their parents and make better choices than they did. These are murderers, felons, druggies, and abusers. They don't have a lot to live for in prison, but they show a lot of effort and want for others to not make the same mistakes they did, and freely speak of how they thought they knew what they were doing when they were young, but now they see how wrong they were.

I can respect how much of a put off bad behavior is, it's understandably repulsive especially when kicked up to such an intense degree, but somewhere there's a heart underneath even the worst of bad mojo.

WHAT... thread have I created?! Got a lot more attention than I expected. By the way, everybody, I couldn't care less about this guy. And I am not kidding when I said that I am satisfied by negative arguments directed at people such as us. Why? Because I am just some Damn, weird person. Oh, and I am not gonna tell am adult.

I work alone.

But seriously, I mean, I am one of those people who can easily just push people away, and get into their skin in no time flat. If I had the option, I would easily be isolated from the human race because I can't stand them!

...Well, let me rephrase that. Where I am in California, nearly everybody here is Mexican (FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO RACISM GOING ON), and nearly everybody here are Damn jerks. They are unappreciated, full of nothing but pride, and are really just how people describe twelve year olds on the internet. Not even bragging, I am one of the most mature people among the school students.
