I'm going to be bias and go for earth ponies because why not

Earth ponies for sure. Unlike the other races, they seem so proud of their traditions and have a sense of unity not seen among the other tribes. That unity would bring them together in a much stronger force. There's also the fact that you could technically say, the Earth Ponies are the founders of industry in Equestria, so would have factories and such to build war machines, guns, whatever 

 

And of course, the apple goddess rules over them all and rains down terrible storms of apples over her enemies

You all have to remember that most usual unicorns don't know how to utilize intense magic (which would have to be used in a war), and instead, know simple things such as how to levitate a pen, and that's pretty much it. Remember, Twilight Sparkle had to study a lot to get to the point where she could use magic offensively and or defensively.

 

As for me, I'll say that the pegasi would win. Most pegasi know how to fly- and being in the air would decrease the risks of being killed from other races. =uwu=
