The Public Relations team is now looking for active, friendly members to volunteer as Social Media Liaisons or as Convention Liaisons.

What is the job of a Social Media Liaison?

Social Media Liaisons are in charge keeping Poniverse's social media sites active, fun, and in touch with our community. You should be able to carry conversations on our accounts, be a fun, creative internet personality, be able to answer any questions members may have, keep in touch with our partners, and be calm/kind at all times! Remember, you'll be representing Poniverse so you'd have to be able to keep your cool even in bad situations.

Here's  our open positions:

  • Facebook: You'd be working alongside @Dovashy to keep all of the Facebook pages active and enjoyable. We currently have three: Poniverse, MLP Forums, and Pony.fm. You'd also be reblogging all Poniverse news and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic news.

  • Tumblr: You would post all the latest Poniverse and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic news, reblog SFW pony things, and be in charge of looking for new members for a future Poniverse mascot comic.

  • DeviantART: You'd make sure the MLP Forums DeviantART is active and constantly making sure that everything is up to date, changing the featured artwork, and etc. Perhaps you might even like to host a few art contests alongside our FIMFiction contests?

  • Twitter:  You'd be primarily responsible for maintaining Poniverse's largest group of social media websites!  We currently have 7 Twitter accounts including: Poniverse, MLPForums, ponyfm, PixelWavelength, PonyRP, Equestria_TV, and PoniArcade.  You'd be keeping these accounts active, interacting with members, partner organizations, and future members on all of them, and watching partner organizations and other brony related Twitter accounts for news and interesting items to retweet.

  • Other Social Media Sites: Got an idea for a site we haven't invaded made an account in yet? Feel free to send an application for it!

What is the job of a Convention Liaison?  FILLED!

This job is quite different than the Social Media Liaison, but still definitely an important one. As a Convention Liaison, you're helping to plan our conventions, keep in touch with our partners, and hopefully even attend the conventions you plan. It is not a requirement to be able to attend conventions, but convention knowledge will definitely help you here.

Do these jobs interest you? Then why not fill out an application here.

If you have any questions, please feel free to post on this thread or contact our new Public Relations Head, Simon. :)

Applications will be closing on June 9th, 2015 at 11:59 PM PST.

I think I might be applying as soon as I can. I'm always looking out for places where I can give a lot of contribution to Poniverse and MLP Forums. DeviantArt is right up my alley! :D

My 1,000th attempt at applying for PR (I actually tried to apply for PR [for EverFreeNetwork before they turned into CanterlotHill and PVL]  but it fails every time) , I hope I get It! Also I'm applying for twitter (did not put that in application)

Updated with a new position!

We're also looking for someone to help out with our Twitter accounts.  If you've already submitted an application and want to be considered for this position as well, you can submit a new application specific to this position or contact me directly.

For convention, will the meetings be in real life or online?

Since Poniverse staff live all across the world, all of the planning for anything Poniverse PR does will be done online.  That being said, if you plan on working as a convention liaison, it would probably be helpful if you could actually attend at least one of the conventions which we plan to go to.  It's not a requirement for the job, but certainly a plus if you can represent Poniverse in person at one or more of our partner organization's conventions!

For social media, do we have to keep all 7 accounts active?

Each Social Media Liaison will maintain the sites on the site they are in charge of.  So if you're applying for the Twitter Liaison, you would be maintaining all 7 of our Twitter accounts.  Our Facebook Liaisons will be managing our three Facebook pages (and any future pages that are made), and then our other social media sites (dA and Tubmlr) would only be managing one page at this time since we only have one page on each of those sites.

Hope that makes sense!

You guys did not ask in the application form but does my age matter if I want to volunteer?

EDIT: I also forgot to mention what exactly I want to work on. I meant to write that I'm willing to work for both Tumblr and Facebook, whichever position is needed.

Ahhhhhhhhh, look at all the new meat.  :comeatus:   Very pleased to see so many people applying to join our team.  For those who don't know, I'm the Poniverse PR representative over on Fimfiction, and also run our Fimfiction group.  I look forward to working with some of you in the future, and best of luck to all applying.  :proud:

I wouldn't think age matters too much given that based on your profile I'm younger than you.

I'd guess (don't take my word for it) if you have decent writing skills it should be fine.

Yes I agree with what you're saying I was just curious if it was a factor they were taking into consideration. I guess decent writing skills and a good attitude should be enough.

Out of curiosity, is this a paying job?

I'm pretty sure it's not. Staff members (mods, admins, etc.) do it as volunteer work. They take time out of their personal lives to help the community so I don't think this will be any different.

Okay. thing is, I was currently looking for a little extra cash flow while I try to get my art off the ground.

Well if you're trying to get your art off the ground, depending on how talented you are you could sell commissions. That is, if you don't already do that.
