Is MLP Really Flawless?

As we all know, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is a..well...pretty darn amazing show,  but are there really any reasons MLP could be a bad show in some people's eyes?

I really can't think of any, and it fascinates me. Could this show really be flawless in every reguard?

not really.

It is really not even THAT much of an amazingly good show, it just does things differently than other shows and is generally a better cartoon than most of them out there.

That still makes it greatly enjoyable, though, and the fandom does its part of making us see it as a way bigger thing than it actually is( i mean things like personalities for sidecharacters that the show doesnt even mention, art,animations,music, fiction, you name it)

Also, it has some episodes that aren´t that good, but that is personal opinion, and i personally like most of the episodes.

Of course not. No form of entertainment is. There are plenty of plot holes, continuity errors and the like. Same as everything

I love the show but I can think of some:

• The characters tend to remain static, they learn a lesson only to have to relearn it again and again
• The humor really sucks to me so it could suck to others as well
• The songs could be annoying to them
• They may not find a single character they like/find them uninteresting
• When episodes are bad, they're pretty bad
• The animation style may just look awkward to them
• They may just not like it overall, some people don't need a reason to dislike something if they just happen to get bored or are uninterested by it

I have several shows I like better than MLP, including Steven Universe and Gravity Falls so it's far from perfect, nothing is perfect.

Flawless? I can't think of anything I love or enjoy that is flawless. Brilliant =/= flawless. 

 

But to answer your question, sure there could be many reasons some would think the show is bad (in their eyes ... which assumes subjectivity). It's a cartoon, about non human characters, has songs, episodes are two short, doesn't have on an overarching story line, it is too colorful, and it simply isn't their cup of tea.

No, the show is not perfect; matter a fact, nothing in this world is perfect. I would say, though, that despite its flaws, MLP is an excellent show. There are many factors as to why people don't like it; personality, family back ground, peer pressure etc. When there is something that we think is really good, naturally, we want to share it with others. But the reality is many will still reject it; not because they can't appreciate a good show, it's just not for them. I think some bronies in their excitement of the show go to far in trying to "convert" people; and this is a definite turn off to many as well. And you know what? -- I don't blame them. People have the right to like what they like; and dislike what they dislike.

MLP: FiM isn't perfect. No show is. There are plenty of reasons to think the show is one of the best things ever just as much as there are not to.

 

One reason why I enjoy reviewing this show is to see what exactly it's doing right, but also to see what it can do better, and what they shouldn't do, with the hope that people learn from what this show did right and wrong when writing the next generation of cartoons. Even when it seems to be doing everything right, there's always room for improvement. You can never know everything and get everything right about anything, which is a sentiment common in a thread about perfection on this forum, where I express that perfection is a paradox in and of itself.

No, no show is flawless no matter how good it is and MLP is not an exception. I have noticed a great deal of flaws in the series especially in season 4 and the season 5 episodes that have aired so far. Season 4 has greatly dissapointed me but still had a few good episodes and season 5 isn't inspiring much confidence in me so far but it is still rather early.

I don't think so, I don't think any kind of entertainment is flawless. What one person considers a strength could be seen as a flaw by someone else.

MLP:FiM isn't flawless. Every show has it's own flaws and people who dislike it. Making a TV show, whether it be animated or live action, isn't a piece of cake and because of that, there are bound to be some errors. Heck, there are things about MLP:FiM that I don't like.

FiM isn't a flawless or perfect show, and there are people who hate this show or will never try it because of it's image. I don't think the storytelling is the best, while good for a TV Y show with lessons it's good but I still feel there are shows that have much deeper stories like Gravity Falls.

However, nothing is perfect and My Little Pony does not have that many flaws anyway (that is why it is a good show) so who cares? Keep calm and watch MLP.

Perfection is a trait that cannot be defined.  The existence of plot holes and animation errors may be considered perfect to some but faulty for others.  What is perfect to one person may not necessarily be perfect to another.  Therefore, perfection does not exist.

I can name at least four current animated shows off the top of my head that wipe the floor with MLP. It's most certainly not flawless, nor necessarily all that engaging, but its emotional simplicity manages to tap into that inner kid that still exists somewhere within us all.

Of course it is not flawless and that is why many brony youtubers are able to criticize some episodes, telling what they think was being done wrong, the messages and character reactions.

Of course not, there are a lot of criticisms to be made about the show.Whether in the form of over-simplification, animation errors, plot holes, character development, etc.

If you try to satisfy everybody, you will end up satisfying no one.

Despite acknowledging that every person is different in some way, this including earthlings' issues to realize this very truth. MLP is not a flawless show by any stretch of the imagination.

Still, there's fear in some aspects of today's society, this leads to tunnel-vision some people. Judgment is born, self-fear is being reflected upon others, in form of judgment.

 

No heart, no wisdom. Loveless people often become obsessive of "perfection" this becomes a self-limiting factor of one's natural behaviours. Artificial personalities and shallow people are born, like a defense mechanism against this inner low self-esteem. This brings along impulsive and harmful behaviours.

No, it's not flawless, nothing is and nothing should be expected to be so, but I do think for what it is, it is absolutely amazing and I think that kind of enthusiasm that it fuels can make it seem like fans think their are no flaws. In reality it's just that the flaws are so few that they aren't mentioned a whole lot. Which I think is good. Acknowledge the flaws, know that they are there, but don't always go looking for any. I feel like some in the fandom make that into their hobby, finding the flaws in stuff like this show.

 

Something like the season 5 premiere, I think it was very flawed, but I still enjoyed it well enough.

Don't get me wrong this show is fantastic! But it isn't without its flaws... no show is but lets just say this cartoon has kept it's quality throughout all of its seasons so far. This is all my opinion however but honestly this show is pretty close to flawless. I just hope they don't make it last way too long and start to run out of ideas.

Not at all! There are plenty of animation errors, some of characters are poorly written, some of the episodes are cringe worthy, some of the songs are extremely annoying, each of the Mane Six have episodes where their character is butchered. MLP is great, but it's not perfect.

The show is definitely not flawless. It isn't perfect, although I admit that it's a great show.

 

As a couple people said, there have been various errors (animation/writing errors to be precise) with the show itself.
