Which alicorn do you think is best to rule alone?

I'd go with Princess Celestia; she's had the most experience out of all of them, and also never had to be banished to the moon.

Princess Celestia seems the obvious choice, since she's run Equestria alone for god knows how long. But, I think if Luna was given a chance, she could be a good ruler. She's still young, and feels overshadowed, I think, but as long as she has learned that the night and day are both important, and doesn't go power hungry again... I think she could be better than Celestia, even.

 

Don't get me wrong, Celestia did a good job, and still is. But she just sits on her throne too much, and day by day, she's been getting older, less involved with Equestrian affairs. But Luna, while she may be more inexperienced, she's younger and more ambitious, has that passion and drive that could improve Equestria a ton as long as her 'improvements' aren't having anything to do with eternal night.

Cadance I think is the best fit personally. She stopped the changelings, stayed up god knows how long to keep out Sombra and brought the crystal heart to the crystal ponies in the end, even with assistance from Spike. She now rules the crystal empire which we have not heard had any trouble since the season 3 premiere. Twilight I think will be good in time but she's nowhere near ready yet.

Definitely Celestia, after all she did lead Equestria into prosperity for a thousand years solo. Cadance would probably be second as she does seem to handle the more administrative duties in the Crystal Empire while Shining Armor seems more military-oriented. Luna seems like she would more attuned to handle singular issues like she does in the CMC's dreams. Twilight, by title, can't rule alone; not to mention that she's more or less useless without her friends, so letting her rule alone would not be a good idea.

I think Luna would do decent, now that she's good again. She's been very good at her job (eg. with Scootaloo), and she seems to be the most 'serious' of the bunch.

Celestia. She trained Twilight to become the protector of Equestria, she needs to take care of princessly matters while Twilight and friends are battling the baddies. Celestia doesn't seem to be combat ready since her fight with Luna, I don't think Twilight can sit still and deal with political matters as well as having the responsibility of being Equestria's strongest force.

I say Luna would be the best to rule alone, she's ambitious and headstrong plus now that she's back to normal again, she can no longer cause any destruction or chaos in Equestria.

I think the best ruler to rule alone would be Princess Celestia. She has proven to be a ruler of Equestria for a thousand years. Maybe Princess Luna would be a close second to rule alone. Twi and Cadance don't have enough ruling experience.

Experience and wisdom would indeed name Celestia as the answer.  But the problem is, she's not as strong (in terms of magic and ability) as she's made out to be...

Twilight isn't mature enough just yet.  I do believe one day she'll be more powerful than any of the other 3 (alone themselves, not combined).  

Cadence?  Eh, that'd be a no.

Definitely Celestia. Definlestia. She has had plenty of practice to rule alone, an entire millennia to be exact. Twilight is still fairly new to the princess stuff, Cadence still seems 'kinda' new at running the Crystal Empire and Luna is, well, unstable somewhat. Maybe not so much now, but you never know.

Don't get me wrong; Celestia has tons of ruling experience, and Cadence and Twilight are good at protecting Equestria. However, only Luna seems to have a good mixture of those two traits. She may not be as experienced as Celestia, but she really cares for the citizens of Equestria, and has a desire to be a good leader; she'd adapt to a solo position if she needed to, I think. She's not quite as battle-ready as Cadence and Twilight, but she's more willing to take action than Celestia to defend herself or the kingdom, as I see it.

Celestia seeing how she has the most experience out of all of them in ruling a kingdom.

Celestia raised and lowered the sun and moon while ruling over an entire nation for a thousand years which is incredibly impressive.

After her I think Twilight would be the next best choice once she has gotten some more experience on being a princess.   So not at this current point in the series but she will eventually be capable of ruling over Equestria if Celestia was grooming her to take over.

Well Celestia is the only one who has ruled alone so that makes her the best choice. Also unlike some other princess she hasn't thrown a hissy fit which would kill everything.

Celestia has the track record of ruling alone, so by default that goes to her.

 

Twilight is too much of a green horn, Luna can be abrasive. Cadance might be okay, but Celestia seems like the better option.

Celestial did rule already for 1000 years and it was a relatively peaceful time.

 

Cadence would be a good alternative considering that she already rules the Crystal Empire.

 

I am afraid Luna would be too guilty and afraid to make mistakes that she will not be able to rule well.

 

Please....not Twilight. She will freak out and run away before you even say 'Celestia'. No I do not think she will be able to rule on her own, though she probably could along with her friends.

I don't think Celestia could possibly rule for about half a month, without getting kidnapped of something.

Luna has some psychological issues, meaning she's adorable, yet rather unstable.

 

Twilight, well, she's a nerd with obsessive disorder. Overwhelming responsibility... yeah

Cadence is pretty, kinda the only thing she has going for her, pretty artificial personality, though. So, don't know.
 

 

I don't think any of them could successfully manage it.
